Comfort Inn Plainwell

Everything was good, the staff were delightful! They are still finishing up a renovation but it was not that noticeable, the price was a bit higher than I'd like but that seems to be the fair price for the area. I have no complaints. The breakfast was nice and available for a good time frame the when I was up early for work I could get breakfast and late enough that on Sunday check out there was no rush. One of the better hotels I've stayed in, I travel and have had about 10 other hotel stays in the last year.

The entrance was a pull or push door rather than automatic, there was no Ada button to open the door, makes bring in luggage a tiny bit difficult.

Good variety for breakfast. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Air conditioning worked. Relatively quiet. Close to where we had to travel to. Was given extra bath mats to soak up the water on the bathroom floor due to the shower curtain being too short.

The shower curtain was too short causing water to get all over the bathroom floor. ( this was explained that the wrong length was delivered and new longer ones were coming) The beds were a full when we were told they were queen. The beds were too tall and too soft. The mattress enveloped you/ sunk in. Very hard to climb up onto the bed. The cost per night was well over our budget. We realize it was the weekend prior to the 4th of July. We had no choice due to the fact we were there for our father's memorial service.

The breakfast was great and very clean kitchenette off the lobby. For breakfast there was a wide assortment of options. The beds were comfy and the shower was HOT! Pool area wasn’t crowded. Walking distance to great Mexican restaurant next door and hospital is right across the street. Under a mile from all major stores and restaurants!

The walls are paper thin and our windows wouldn’t close so there was a draft so we kept the double curtain closed to help the draft. The first few nights someone smoked the entire time they were there, hallways stunk like cigarettes! The pool area was slippery and very loud due to being right on the highway on ramp. The floors in the hallways needed to be vacuumed and many things were on the carpet all 4 days we were there so it hadn’t been done.

Location - Great, easy access on/off highway and by many shopping areas/restaurants. Hotel/Room - Clean, accommodated our needs, Breakfast - Great, everything was stocked and fresh. Available 6-9am Pool/Hot tub - Closes at 11pm, clean and nice

Very loud and obnoxious guests few doors down from our room, partying around 1-2am going door to door knocking and being disruptive. I called front desk and they handled the situation. Not particularly the hotel's fault but only down thing to happen at our stay.

Breakfasts were very nice.

Beware of the pool area. VERYVERY slippery and dangerous. I was walking VERY slowly to the table and the next thing I knew I was looking at the ceiling. Ended up across the street at the hospital. Five stitches in the back of my head. I cannot be the first person to have fallen... I'm a very young 68-yr old. Safety measures need put in place.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great for someone traveling the interstate. Breakfast had good protein options, not just carbohydrates options.

Only 1 elevator that was very slow. The parking / drive was was left something to be desired, You drive in and then have to loop around in an adjacent business parking lot to get back to the main hotel parking.

We had so much fun. 2 queen beds, I was there for my birthday, and even the new staff would wish me a Happy Birthday and Happy New Year. It was great. So close to everything, I forgot my corkscrew at home and the inn was so close I went to a gas station across the street and bought one so I could drink my wine to celebrate.

I didn't see any handicap buttons to open the doors with, so someone in a wheelchair could just go right in.

The lobby is beautiful the exterior of the building is stunning and the location itself is phenomenal.

The rooms are a little outdated and being winter was extremely cold upon entering due to the heat being off we didn't have a thermostat so we had to control everything straight from the heater and there's no way to tell the temperature or how warm it is. Pool was extremely crowded made me very nervous with so many young children in the pool rough housing and only adults some of whom were drinking and partying on the sidelines monitoring.

Everything was clean and looking festive for Christmas. It had an air of cheerful and homey. The lady behind the desk was charismatic and talkative. The way of not talking over you but enjoying and contributing to your conversation. She really made me feel at home away from home and made sure I knew I could seek her out for anything I needed and I wasn't a bother! I will definitely stay here again. The cleaning lady on duty was even cheerful down to earth and helpful as well. Way to go Comfort Inn!

My door at first was a little hard to figure out with the staying locked mechanism but we all figured it out :)

The front desk people were very friendly . The room was clean and looked like it was recently renovated. The pool and hot tub were large which is unlike most hotels these days.

The only thing that was slightly bad was the pool area itself. There was trash lying around and wet towels everywhere. The floor was very slippery and could have used a mop. Otherwise it was ok.
