Crowne Plaza Kansas City Downtown, an IHG Hotel

The room was nice with a beautiful view. We had dinner in the restaurant. It wasn't over priced and tasted great. The coffee shop in the morning was also wonderful. My daughter loved the flower wall! Great spot and so many things to do within walking distance.

There were only two things that we didn't like. The pool was locked and we weren't able to swim the first day. We saw others swimming the next day but by that time we had to leave :( The bathroom had a sliding door which wouldn't shut.

Everything in my room was clean, check in and out was easy, and the staff was very friendly. When I bought cereal in the lobby and couldn't get it to scan I was assisted quickly and wasn't treated like I was incompetent for not knowing how to work the system. I was all-in-all very impressed with the people employed here.

The makeup mirror in the room I was given didn't have a functional light (not convenient when I was there to cosplay for a convention), the toilet didn't flush correctly (had to flush multiple times and hold the handle down for a while to flush, some of my provided hangers where broken, and the least important but still notable thing would be the all white towels provided during comicon weekend when everyone was trying to do makeup without ruining anything (though that might not be important a tip would be to have some darker colored ones available upon request?).

Comfortable bed. Cold pool. Great location.

People were smoking and drinking at the pool. There weren't any signs or direction on bathrooms. People stood in the pools for hours drinking without leaving to use bathroom. Also wish the pool opened earlier and closed later. 7am-10pm.

Very nice hotel in perfect downtown location! Had restaurants and clubs/bars in walking distance. Staff was so funny and friendly felt like I was talking to people i’ve known for forever! Booked this hotel for the weekend to celebrate my birthday and would definitely recommend!

Pool closes at 9 you cannot access it past 9 at all. Tried to go out there just to get some pictures but it was locked. Also the bathroom door was very hard to close had to push it shut it kept getting stuck

Clean place, nice modern rooms, great location, rooftop pool was fun.

The elevators are extremely over populated, give yourself atleats an extra 20 minutes to get where you are going while you wait for 4 or 5 full elevators to pass before you get one you can fit in. The parking garage is a joke, door to stair way was locked and you waited even longer for parking garage elevators.

Everything else was nice, and I enjoyed my stay, the staff was nice, and had a great view of the city. I also liked that a lot of attractions were close to the hotel.

Everything was great and would come back, but the description and pictures of the room is not what we expected, and the bathroom is on the smaller side, but it works. It was also a bummer that parking was $20 a day to park in the parking garage.

Liked the friendliness of the staff, parking convenience, and location. Bed was incredibly comfortable and room was spotless.

Did not like the lack of updates and compactness of the room. Bathroom did not have vent fan so it was miserably humid after shower. Air conditioner was just powerful enough to cool roughly 1/2 of the room. Other half was warm/uncomfortable. Owners should invest in much needed simple improvements/updates and you’ve got yourself a great place to stay. Currently though I would say just average.

The place was absolutely amazing! Wonderful staff very clean rooms and facilities, the pool was shut down for construction so that suckee but not the hotels fault I came on the wrong weekend.

The location on the hotel was easy to react and navigate but the construction outside of the hotel made it a little difficult but again not the hotels fault. I do recommend getting a little more night time security for the front of the hotel because I seen ALOT of drug deals going on out front of the building because it's just an easy place to park and get away with it.

I thought I was booking a room at Crown Center, and I also thought that I was making a reservation directly with the hotel, but discovered later that it was via bookings.com. So that was all confusing.

It was very nice, but it was pricey.

the television only got 7 channels and they went in and out. I understand there was a small storm but it shouldn’t have been enough to block channels. for a high scale hotel, having more than 7 channels available is a small detail but very important and can ruin someone’s stay
