La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kansas City Beacon Hill

I booked this hotel because of the price in comparison to the other fancier hotels directly in the downtown area, and I was happy with that decision. It was more affordable, and although it wasn't walking distance to anything it was never an expensive uber ride or a long drive. Also, I was not expecting to be able to see downtown from our room so our skyline view was a very pleasant surprise! The room was a good size and was well-lit. I really liked that the room had a fridge, and I always appreciate a hotel with free and plentiful parking.

We stayed for 4 nights but when we came back to our room on day 2 our keys no longer worked. Apparently when we checked in they were accidentally programmed as though we were only staying 1 night. Also, in 4 nights our room was only cleaned once (it also meant the coffee pods and cups were never refilled so I had to go down to the front desk for more several times). Not a huge problem but just something to be aware of if you care about that. Lastly, there were some questionable characters in the lobby. One day we went down to the front desk and a woman sitting in the lobby asked if we could pay for her to stay in the hotel for a night, and one night we came back fairly late and it seemed as though there was a big party going on in the lobby.

Location was good. Close to WW1 museum and Hallmark center and good restaurants. We drove to all, however, I think if time wasn't an issue we may have walked. Originally we were thinking it would have been good to stay in downtown area, but, after seeing the sites we decided being closer to the city may have been noisy at night. Free parking. The breakfast was better than what we had at the Guthrie OK La Quinta and by far better than Topeka Sure Stay and the Abilene Super 8. The reception area was bright and comfortable.

Located a short drive away from WWI memorial in a quiet area, clean commfortable hotel with a breakfast that includesscrambled eggs. The Kansas blend coffee (I think) was surprisingly good. It even had bit of a view of downtown in the distance.

Nothing comes to mind. The location is not exactly by the attractions but we knew that when booking and the price reflects that.

The staff was real friendly & very informative. The breakfast was more than I expected & presented very well. There was plenty of room to spread out. Everything was very clean. We were able to walk from the train station but the next time we will call an uber because the walk was mostly uphill.

There was nothing around where we could walk to eat so we had to order a pizza. We were told that it wouldn't be safe to walk around after dark, which I'm grateful for the advise.

Staff were great. Bed was really comfortable. Room was clean.

Take a step in the wrong direction and your in a really questionable neighborhood. Of course the stadium we were going to is in a pretty questionable area. Beware the Uber/Lyft are slow to get there and might be overbooked. Our Uber cancelled and Lyft never showed. Had to get a parking pass and drive last minute. If your headed to a concert or game plan on an hour plus to get there.

Location worked out super for us. Close enough to everything, but not super busy. Staff was excellent, especially afternoon/evening desk host. Failed to write down her name, however she was an absolute delight!! Very friendly and helpful!

Bummed that breakfast ended at 9a sharp, little early for us on vacation. But was decent selection. Beds we comfy, however the pillows were awful. Small, flat, not supportive.

the property staff was friendly very helpful. he was able to accommodate all rooms for my group on the same floor. I booked LaQuinta Inn & Suites KC Beacon Hill through booking.com and the rates were great for the location and quality of this newly built hotel. the interior design and Kansas City inspired artwork in the lobby was intentional and inviting. The continental breakfast was good but the gentleman preparing the breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Each morning of our stay he greeted each member of my crew with a warm smile and encouraging words.

There was no complaints about this property from my crew.

I did not eat breakfast because there was not a lot to choose from. The location of the hotel was great. The bed was very comfortable, and the room temperature could be adjusted without any confusion of the setting.

The TV service was not available, due to technical issues. I stayed in room 431, it looked clean at first glance, but as I began to unpack and get settled, I noticed the carpet was not vacuumed or not vacuumed well, there was hair on the bathroom floor specifically by the sink and toilet. The cleanness of a hotel is a deal breaker, you want to feel like the room was cleaned and sanitized, it gives a piece of mind. I would stay here again, however I would defiantly exam the room before I unpack.

The front desk clerks were really friendly, always helpful and always had a smile. The complementary breakfast was nice with lots of choices. I highly recommend the waffles or the muffins, especially the lemon cranberry muffin. The room wasn't fancy but it was comfortable. I feel like it was a good value for the price.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like about the hotel. However if you are looking for all new and up to date this may not be the place for you. The chair in our room and the bed were definitely dated. I noted recent improvements that makes me feel like the owners are trying to update a little at a time without going broke.

Great safe location right off the freeway, easy for a quick sleep on our way to Chicago. Very clean place with a comfy bed, super pet friendly and a good breakfast spread. Empty lot across the street for some off leash time for our dog and a coffee shop up the street with a park there too.

We weren’t there for tourist attractions but seems like you’d need to drive to everything, perfect for a quick stop off the freeway though.
