Hotel Indigo - Kansas City Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Honestly-- I am so picky about my hotels. It takes a lot to get me comfortable in a hotel. But as soon as I walked into my room, I felt immediately at ease! It was so clean, SO clean. And the view-- wow. I loved having a corner suite and having the wrap around windows. I truthfully wish I had gotten to spend more time in my hotel room, lol! And the bed was very cozy and just felt so crisp and clean. The bathroom was very updated! I also really wish I had gotten to try the restaurant that is conveniently right downstairs.

The only bummer about my stay was that the parking wasn't validated or covered. Paying what I did for a room for the weekend, you'd think I wouldn't have to pay $16/night for parking. Though, it's wasn't that big of a deal to me and didn't ruin my stay.

Traveling for work, my first time visiting Kansas City, and staying with Hotel Indigo. The hotel was in a great location and within walking distance of many restaurants and convenient shopping during down times. The overall staff was very friendly and helpful. I booked a King room which was very clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom which was very clean as well. The restaurant inside had a great selection of breakfast items which were very well prepared and affordable. Shortly after I checked in and was settled into my room, I received a text message asking how my room accommodations were and if they met my expectations. I would receive a text message each day once the cleaning staff cleaned my room, which I found very nice.

The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic. The central location for downtown was great. We could walk to where we wanted to go. This was a Guy Fieri road trip. We went to his KC restaurant for drinks and ate at Jericho Mexican seafood restaurant that was on Triple D. So Hotel Indigo was a great place to stay. The rooms we really comfortable and it was totally pet friendly.

The green space for the dogs was over a city block away in front of the library and it was artificial grass (which the dogs didn't like) and lots of poop piles too.

When we arrived it was very late (after 12am) the front desk attendant Brianna was new but she was so sweet and super helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and very appealing. The restaurant had great service and incredible food. The housekeeping (Latonya) were super attentive and very kind.

The only complaint I have is that the hotel had us staying an extra night than what we originally anticipated, I asked the front desk about this and they confirmed and I went back to my room contemplating staying another night. I ended up going back to the desk and asked if she was sure because I didn’t want to be charged again, she said no that the prior info she provided wasn’t accurate and that I had less than an hour to be out of my room or else I would be charged a $40 late fee.. I was a bit taken back by this as we had been told we had about 24 hours before we had to check out. I quickly went to my room and packed. I paid cash at the counter and wasn’t offered a receipt of any sort but requested and received one. Just kind of a strange ending to our trip.

Breakfast was delicious and we had plenty of options to choose from, lot's of clean, filling meals.

Having to pay for parking on top of our hotel price, was frustrating.

The room, staff, and amenities were wonderful. We were able to get a last minute late check in and the front desk and valet were so kind and understanding. We also really liked the location as it was within 10-15 mins of where we needed to go in town.

The essentially required valet was frustrating as we were late to activities twice waiting on the valet to get our car.

got back from the Reba concert and went to the bar. Bartender was exceptionally friendly and courteous. When it was closing time, he gave us options of where to drink our current drinks...rooms, lobby. But he was very respectful about his approach.

Very cute and aesthetically pleasing. Comfy home away from home! Good location. Close proximity to restaurants, coffee shops, cvs, and free metro bus!

The toilet kept getting clogged. My husband was plunging it all weekend! The flush was week and it didn’t refill with enough water. It would get clogged just going pee. Trash cans in the room are very small and fill up quickly. Beds are a little stiff, but not bad. Parking was $10 a day, however the structure was right next to the hotel and easy to find!

Hotel and room very clean, the room had a nice space and comfortable.

Even though I paid the reservation through Booking.com, the hotel charged again my credit card. I called the hotel and they said they will reimburse the money, however the lady was not very happy with this like this was my fault. I am still waiting for the reimbursement.

The hotel is located downtown within a block of the free trolley. We used the trolley for Union Station, the Poser and Light district, River city and Market city. It was very convenient.

The valet parking was pretty steep, but probably n line with any downtown hotel. A good option was self parking for $10 a day. We used that after the first day and it worked well for us. The self park was $10 a day versus $28 a day in valet.
