Fort Marcy Suites

Location is good: not downtown but a pleasant 15-minute walk from the Cathedral and Palace Ave shops and then left to the Plaza. Driving navigation is easy. The kitchen was the best equipped that I've come across - there was even a little omelet pan for my usual breakfast. Coffeemaker was the basic large glass pot basket-filter type so I used my own little camping filter but there were plenty of filters in the cabinet. (Plenty of dishwashing soap but no sponge. These days I always bring my own.) The bathroom had pump bottles of shampoo, body wash, conditioner and hand soap. Fast hot water. Units are all different - mine didn't have any window views but there was a pleasant porch for morning coffee. The photo is taken looking north from the sidewalk outside the unit.

Be aware that there are lots of outside stairs since the buildings are on hills like much of that part of Santa Fe. This makes for lots of great views, but plan on bumping your rolling luggage up and down the stairs.

All the staff were amazing. After booking I saw that some condos had upstairs so made a special request to have the smaller bed downstairs if possible. On arrival, the receptionist was quick to let me know she saw my request and gave us a single story unit. One staff person thought my 84 yr old mother needed help on the sidewalk and was quick to offer assistance. Everyone was friendly and quick to help. We had a great view as well. There were puzzles in the cabinet of all sizes. My mom was glad to see one with large pieces and we had fun in the evenings putting it together. The unit was clean and well stocked.

We made this booking due to reviews, price, and proximity to the Plaza. (We wanted to be able to walk everywhere.) Unfortunately for my mom, the walk back to the condo was all uphill and a strenuous walk (for all of us). We didn’t see that info anywhere online so I wanted to mention it for anyone traveling with mobility issues. The beds were high off the ground as well. Not a major issue for us but my mom did mention having to climb into the bed. I am 5ft 3 inches and had to do the same in our bed. My husband is 6 ft but he even thought it was a bit high. To give us that good view our unit faced a very busy road so it was noisy at times. The AC unit was also very loud, but that didn’t really bother us that much.

Loved this property. The location was excellent with an easy walk into restaurants and shops on the Plaza. Close to hiking trails and scenic drives. Our unit was nicely laid out and decorated and we enjoyed the quiet. Since you don’t know what unit you will get, the decor could be different but the layout would be the same. Love having a bedroom and living room so sleepers and TV watchers can separate. Kitchen had everything. Will definitely stay here again.

We liked everything but we are hikers. Others might want to know it is an uphill walk back from town and there are steps throughout the property. Because of the nice grounds, you don’t park right by your condo.

Actually, everything went well from the moment I received my first email confirming my booking. It was seamless. I must say that the young lady who met us, Katelynn (SP and sorry if I misspelled it) was not only genuinely friendly and professional, but also most accommodating. She had everything easy for us: room keys, map of our room, details on the wireless password, parking area, local restaurants, and answered every question with such a friendly manner. One never felt as if we were just another guest. Everyone in my group was made to not only feel welcomed, but also special and valued. The suite was spotless, everything one would want was there. All the linens were neatly stored and fresh. Bathrooms and showers were clean along with all the bedrooms. The kitchen and living room were on par with the rest of the property. This property is situated in a quiet zone within walking distance to the center plaza and other points of interest including restaurants and shopping spot. Great place to stay. If in doubt about reserving a suite, don’t, you won’t regret it.

Wi fi was not reliable, except late at night. Signal spotty. I would recommend: 1. Informing people of the no smoking policy in advance, the smokers have designated at least one area - they were not picking up their butts. (Maintenance must, they didn’t disappear by themselves). 2. Informing guests of the Artist Road (and any other) street address for use with delivery or transportation.

I liked the house we stayed in. It was cleanly and nice. The staff I talked to on the phone about any questions answered them diligently and they were quick with responses. The kitchen was great and there were lots of places for storage of our things.

We were under the impression that we had a private pool. We didn't realize that the pool was shared, so we weren't quite sure what to do. We luckily had a map to find it, but we just had a false impression. My mother also wasn't a fan of the coffee, but I think that was just her preference.

The condo was conveniently located close to the center of town. It was walkable and easy to find. The particular 2 bedroom deluxe condo we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and Benjii provided a lot of good information upon arrival.

The view from the porch was blocked by the building in front of it, but it was overall still nice. The A/C was set at the owners max (68 degrees), but the condo felt warm during the day. It didn’t really cool down into the night (then it was kinda chilly).

Lovely southwestern style in the condo, and impressed with the size: nice kitchen and living room and a bathroom on the first floor and two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor, along with a balcony. Great location, just a 10-minute walk into the downtown, and free open parking with plenty of spots. We even called to see if there was a toaster and tea kettle, and they made sure housekeeping had both ready for us in the room! Very kind of them to accommodate that, and totally unnecessary, but Benji even remembered us from the call when we checked in. :)

Only tiny issue was that the condo smelled like the smoke from the fireplace, which is of course, a nice feature, but one of the people in our group was very sensitive to smells and wasn't able to spend much time downstairs because it was so strong for her.

We wanted to have a true Santa Fe experience, and we had it. The apartment was spacious, very well furnished and decorated, and spotless. The staff added a pack and play to the apartment free of charge prior to my arrival, and it was overall very courteous and welcoming. Would stay again!

a) Mattress were definitely uncomfortable and we didn't have a good sleep. b) WiFi was not perfect from every room. However, I do not think these issue detract from the overall experience!

The unit was awesome with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It was very comfortable, clean and the location was good. The kitchen included all appliances, small appliances, dishes, glasses and pots/pans making it easy to fix meals at home. The unit sits in front of an open space area where you see wildlife.

There were a lot of stairs to get to the unit and a distance from the parking lot to the unit. The kitchen was missing some items that would have made things easier, such as additional hand towels (there was just one), lids for bowls to store leftovers and/or plastic wrap or foil. All and all, not a huge downside.
