Hunter Lodge, a Bluebird by Lark

I booked the Mountainview King/Queen Loft Suite and stayed for about a week. I loved the loft suite room! It was nice and spacious. There was a skylight in the loft. There is a small microwave and mini fridge. The room had a cozy balcony where I could sit and enjoy the mountain view. There is also a fire pit on the premises for guests to enjoy. The lodge staff was attentive and checked whenever they saw me to see if I needed anything, such as clean towels. The staff in the tavern restaurant were very friendly. They had a solid list of beers, wines, and ciders.

The lodge's tavern menu is compact, which I don't mind, but the food (the review is based on the burger I had ordered a couple of times) was okay. The tavern is closed Monday - Wednesday, which was a bit inconvenient for me as a guest. The breakfast options were also limited, and I would have preferred a more substantial hot breakfast. But it was enough to tie me over because it's quite a ride to the closest breakfast place.

Hotel was clean and modern. Loved the balcony and mountain view and the decor was lovely. The pillows were great.

Both the bar and restaurant were closed on the date of our stay and same for the hotel across the street which forced us to have to get back in our car and drive to find food & drink which is already limited and almost non-existent in Hunter. We weren’t aware there isn’t an elevator in the hotel and so we had to leave most of our luggage in the car and take only essentials to our room. We had a lot of luggage since we’d been traveling for 2 weeks. The mattress was too soft or maybe needs to be replaced. The shower faucet wouldn’t turn completely off. The complimentary breakfast doesn’t begin until 8am and since we’re were traveling through we had to go out and find the only restaurant that was open at 7am back in Haines Falls. The hotel is very dark.

The lodge was VERYclean and the staff were VERY professional , courteous, accommodating and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable with a Breathtaking view of the mountains. Only gripe we had, was that the mini fridge was not working. Since we were there for only 2 nights, we didn't mind nor complain. At checkout however, I did mention the fridge to mgmt for future guests, and they immediately put in a call to maintenance for service while I was there which to me, showed they cared. We chose the Bluebird for the extreme closeness to the mountains, and also because of its reasonable price . It is a pet friendly place, which we didn't know, but at NO time did you hear or smell that there were animals around. The lodge did not disappoint us. We'll definitely be back for more ziplining, and we'll definitely choose the Bluebird Lodge again.

Rooms were large and bathrooms were very nice. The view from our room was a lovely surprise, even in the rain. We were on the bottom floor and could walk out directly to a large green space with comfortable seating and corn hole. Highly recommend checking out the Tavern in the evenings. We enjoyed the food and live music. It was probably understaffed for a holiday weekend but the servers were courteous, helpful and busting tail tail to keep everything moving.

I loved the cozy, lodge feel and especially appreciated that both fireplaces were kept blazing for the entire time we were there. I really needed to unwind and this place was perfect! I loved the king loft mountain view suite! It really felt like an apartment. Having the bed upstairs was really cool!

Would have liked breakfast choices to be switched up. The same yogurt, fruit, and muffin flavors are offered each day. But I am happy that breakfast was included.

The location was stunning, the property overlooks the Hunter mountain and we loved the morning view. We wanted to visit Tannersville, Catskills, and Woodstock, all three were near Hunter's lodge. Huge rooms, very very comfortable beds, balcony.

Loved our little chalet! It was like a comfortable little apartment complete with kitchen and living room and two beautiful bedrooms. Beautiful decor and very comfortable! Beautiful lounge and grounds!

The soundproofing between the chalet and the loft could be improved. I heard every footstep and the TV from upstairs. But it was okay because they weren't up too late.

Love the style and spaciousness of the room (except the bathroom)

we reserved a 2 bed set up for myself and my 22-year-old son. The Booking showed that but they put in KING. When I asked to switch they had nothing comparable. Also the bathroom shower area is tiny. Not manageable at all Dinner menu is too small. Need more offerings

Room was large and well decorated with a beautiful mountain view and a balcony. Common spaces were cozy and welcoming. Breakfast was simple but good. Bar/restaurant on site was convenient. Very close to Hunter Mountain skiing as well as a number of hiking trails

Towels were rough and some room fixtures were flimsy

beautiful location, super modern updated room with a little seating area, the shower was absolutely incredible, amazing views in a great area

the walls were super thin, and you could hear conservations/a baby crying in the next room. breakfast was sparse, but it's very conveniently located close to breakfast spots.
