The Whiteface Lodge

I could not rave about the Lodge more. The entire property is beautiful, set back away from the main road on Whiteface Mountain. Our room could have been a rustic little apartment we could live in forever. The spa tub was WONDERFUL. The free breakfast buffet for guests was literally the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had at a hotel. But it didn’t really feel like a hotel, it felt very homey and comfortable. No noise from other rooms. A nice living room area and porch. Bed was as comfortable as the one we have at home! Plenty of great amenities, too. We completely fell in love with the place, which is good because we were on our honeymoon!

Absolutely nothing.

All the amenities available were great. We loved the pool and hot tub area. I absolutely loved that you had a movie theater and a game room just right downstairs. We enjoyed the basketball, tennis, and pickle ball courts as well. It was nice to be active and not just lay around all day. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking (our room window view looked like a beautiful painting)!!! I definitely felt at peace when I left. I did not have dinner at the Kanu restuarant because my children are very picky eaters, but the dinner plates I had at Peak 47 were delicious (Duck and Lobster rolls). We will definitely be back in the future!

I would ensure the cleaning staff also take care of the outside sitting area of the rooms. There were so many large and thick spider webs that we were all a bit uncomfortable sitting out there for too long. I would also put signs in the pool area reminding people to take their used towels to the bin inside once they are done using the beach chairs, and to toss their garbage in the waste bins. There were times when people thought the chairs were taken and had trouble finding seating for their family. Folks would just get up and leave the used hotel towels and mess there.

beautiful property and beautiful grounds. loved the rustic feel of the lodge. lots to do onsite including no cost activities like movie theater and bowling alley. a great family resort. three bedroom suite was huge

some parts of hotel were a little dated- eg older looking carpet. also tv in master bedroom was very small and hard to see from bed.

the facilities are amazing. the staff is incredible, helpful and sooo nice! everybody is smiling and welcoming. the multitude of available activities are very enjoyable. the little things added make a huge difference; smores, cookies, coffee, popcorn. it’s a huge added value!! felt at home in a beautiful environment!!

Kaneau restaurant. The waitress didn't pack up the leftovers, she gave us the containers. My husband asked her 3 times to clean the table prior to dessert. She gave him a dirty look and walked away. She kept us waiting for 15 minutes. Finally, we got up and asked for our check. My husband didn't leave a tip, but a $10 tip appeared on our bill.

The lodge was really wonderful. As a family of 4, we stayed 3 nights in April. It was comfortable, clean and had beautiful and thoughtful details. The breakfast buffet was delicious, service was good and we enjoyed all the amenities like the pool, game room and bowling alley. The fitness center was also top notch compared to any places I’ve stayed.

Additional nice-to-haves would have been more seating at the pool (it was minimal) and a couple extra movie times.

Amenities, size and comfort of room, great spa, game room and common areas

Room didn’t seem to be prepared when I checked in. Only 1 robe while reservation was for 4 guests, no tissue box, no sponge, used towels left in dryer. No cups for water in the pool area. During previous stays the property was better kept and didn’t run into these issues.

Huge 1 bedroom suite with with kitchen and in unit washer/dryer. They must have good insulation between rooms because I did not hear a peep from any of our neighbors. Pools and grounds are beautiful. Perfect for families. The valet guys and housekeepers were super helpful and friendly.

A couple of the front desk receptionists were not the friendliest and didn't seem happy to be there.

Lovely experience. My first stay at The Whiteface Lodge. They’ve really thought of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible: robes, slippers, radiant floor hear in bathroom, washer/dryer ensuite, 1.5 bathrooms, keep the grounds nicely, plenty to do, guests well informed. Excellent!

The pools are colder temp than I remember but maybe that’s a “pandemic” adjustment and “temporary?

Absolutely great breakfast included with our stay. There was a staff shortage, but not the fault of those working hard. The Spa services were fantastic, food at Peak 47 was great. Concierge person was just fantastic- enjoyed our conversation immensely. All staff was very considerate and accommodating.
