La Quinta by Wyndham Plattsburgh

The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the guy at the front desk. The room was comfortable. We liked that there was a pool to enjoy. We also liked that we could walk to the shops, mall and restaurants. It's very centrally located. We'd stay here again.

Although comfortable once inside, we particularly did not like that the visitors and some staff members were smoking in the "non-smoking" area just outside the front door. Visitors should not have to risk their health getting through the front door. Recommendation (3 steps): (1) Assign a smoking area that is far from common spaces (2) Make it part of the check in process to tell visitors about it. (3) Then, have management monitor and enforce that the rules and signs are respected. For the rooms, i'd also recommend periodic washing if boxspring covers. Ours was dirty. The rest of tge room and bed were very clean.

We booked a King room very last minute. The staff were friendly, the breakfast buffet was good, I loved the pillows although my boyfriend didn't, the shower had a little delay with the hot water but only maybe a minute max., the toilet seat was a little wobbly but nothing major to worry about. There was a TV, fridge, microwave and small ground coffee maker in the room with small complimentary items (shampoo, conditioner, etc.). Hairdryer was powerful which is a bonus for my thick, Asian hair and I honestly wish my own were as fast (although keep the hair from the fan). It was really quiet when we stayed. Decent sized car park and easy for us to get into with a tractor unit. There were two side entrances as well as the main which had an ash tray and bin and this made it less arduous to walk for a nicotine refill. The location was great, we popped over to 99s for dinner and there's Applebee's across the road which is open late. Overall, a really pleasant stay and would definitely use again.

The only thing I could even reach to moan about is the slight inconvenience of turning the bedside light on and then walking to turn the entrance light off.

The staff were helpful. The room was a decent size. The beds were comfortable. The bedding was soft and cozy. The hot tub was relaxing and the temperature was perfect. The pool was enjoyable! The hotel's location was convenient and plenty of restaurants to choose from near hotel. Price was reasonable Pet friendly rooms!

No lock on entrance door into building on side. No card reader...just pull door open. I didn't feel safe. The pool door had a towel jammed into the bottom to keep it slightly open. I did not like this...this situation does not keep children or dogs safe. The unsafe door along with a unsafe pool entrance could cause a death. Fix the issues! Beware parents, dog lovers, and potential none paying persons can get access inside hotel! Safety issues

Staff and management was friendly.

Room wasn’t clean (carpet not vacuumed, untidy). I was told, via email from Booking.com, that the hotel was contacted (at booking) and that my request for handicap access would be accommodated. When I arrived, there were no handicapped rooms, the manager said that he had not gotten the request and I was assigned a room on the 4th floor. Two days later, (the last day of the stay), I was given the chance to change rooms.

I put a 8. The only reason was I understand that your pool was going but when your customer asks you for towels for their room next time just saying we get to you when we can then saying in 30 minutes you'll bring it or when the towels are done you bring it to the room. And not bring it. But you do have some stuff that are wonderful

You have wonderful staffing at night and in the morning

The staff were incredibly kind and the room was very clean when we went in. They even allowed us to do an early check in without any issues.

The only complaint I have is when we went down for the breakfast at 9, they had basically no food left and one of the workers let us know they didn’t expect as many people to show up so they had completely ran out of food. So we didn’t get to eat breakfast :(

The hotel was very nice. Breakfast offered eggs and sausage one day, waffles and bacon the next. Lots of other choices too. It's very clean. It feels safe. The location is perfect for day tripping out of Plattsburgh. It was quiet.

A small thing, but tissues in the room would have been nice for this allergy sufferer.

Breakfast was excellent. Mike made my waffles &:encouraged me to put the whipped cream on top!!! So nice to have breakfast bar staffed with 2 cheerful people!!! Mike Bethlen should be running your PR. A GREAT representative of la quinta & Plattsburgh. Knowledgeable, polite, generous & ready to laugh!!! We hope he'll be there when we come again!

Noisy fan in bathroom. Bed size was more like enlarged twin...but really not a double. Not comfortable for 2.

the heat was great and the bonus of having a recliner was unexpected but appreciated. Room next to elevator yet was very quiet inside room.

Upon arrival, TV was not working, I reset it since I manage a hotel and its something I am familiar with. Told the clerk @ check out I fixed the TV, reply was oh yeah we had a power outage the day I checked in. So you knew there was a problem but let me go to a room with an offline tv? Its a little thing since I fixed it but they could have mentioned this at check in.

The breakfast was average. Not alot of choices but of good quality. The front staff was extremely helpful. The floor in bedroom seemed new.

No cream cheese... only 1 kind of muffin.... no Danish/ donuts...only 1 yogurt flavor. the pool was closed alot. Ran out of coffee. Took a while to replace. The sink in bedroom was cracked. The furnishings seemed dated. Very stingy with soap/shampoo....
