Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook

Nice suite, very comfortable. The restaurant was very good - we had breakfast, as well as an excellent lunch (tacos) and some wine and appetizers one evening. Very handy having such a good restaurant in the hotel.

There were only a couple paper coffee cups in the room. It would have been nice to have some other type of cup for the bathroom. The other issue for us was the heating/AC system. The room was so cold, so we shut off the AC, but the fan continued to run - there was no way to shut it off. It was noisy, and blew right on me in bed. Of course, that's the system they have.

i am very disappointed with the varian for breakfast is too little, and no salad or vegetable at all i also need water to drink BUT they give ONLY 2 bottle for 3 night stay there, unbelieveable for very expensive price, also the young female staff who give the answer very RUDE and ARROGANT.

Hotel was very clean and the staff were great. Breakfast was just right. Cereal, eggs, toast and bagels juices, fruit, bacon and sausages. Just right.

There were a couple of kids in one of the adjacent rooms that were horsing around banging the walls from 7 to 11pm the two nights we stayed. Must have lousy parents that left the alone for several hours while they went out and had fun. Will ask for a room well away from anyone with kids next time we stay at any hotel.

We were there for a girls overnight. I booked on online using Booking. Requested adjoining rooms with my friends. The hotel was booked for the weekend and could not honor my request. I wish I could remember the name of the nice young man who checked me in. He tried to find us adjoining rooms. The best he could was give us was rooms across the hall from each other. The point he spent a few more minutes trying to help us. He could have assigned us rooms down the hall from each other. Having nice and helpful people at the front desk sets the tone for the hotel. The rooms were nice and clean. There was a bar set with microwave, refrigerator and mini Keurig machine. The hotel is located right next door to Stony Brook College. There is a cafe for breakfast lunch and dinner. A short drive to Stony Brook Village. I would definitely go back and there and spend another night or two.

The only negative was my request for adjoining rooms was not met. Maybe the next time I would call the hotel directly. I would stay there again!!

Rooms nice, clean, and comfortable 👌. The pool and hot tub were a bonus for us, and the breakfast was fantastic. Also I have to say it was quiet. I didn't hear others at all when in our room.

I thought the pricing was a little high.

The customer service skills of the gentleman who checked us in around 6:30 pm on our first night left a little to be desired. He was not friendly at all and didn’t seem to want to check us in. We came into contact with him on a subsequent occasion and the same attitude was evidenced. However, all other front desk people, restaurant people, housekeeping people in the hotel were excellent.

Nice bed, nice desk, nice room overall. The restaurant was pretty good and decently priced.

It’s a bit towards the expensive, but the quality was very good in almost all aspects.

Everything was perfect! The receptionist with ring in the nose should work a bit on her people skills! She’s too defensive from inception of a conversation: if the party she’s dealing with is friendly she should start by being at the same level of friendliness.

Breakfast was great.

Having to pay for coffee and hot chocolate other than with meal. Coffee was weak. You had better coffee last year. Found a hair in the sink.

Employees are helpful and nice. Location is great. It is located on the campus of Stonybrook University. It is not far from other towns that have malls and eateries.
