Kimpton - Hotel Arras, an IHG Hotel

This Hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was very kind and considerate. They made sure you were taken care of. I was a little worried about the valet parking only, but we were so thankful They had it. Made our stay so much easier. It rained while we were there so they offered umbrellas which was a plus. The bar, District 42 is opposite of the Lobby and was so convenient. Very relaxing atmosphere. Our rooms were very clean and very comfortable. I cannot wait to go back. We will definitely stay her again and again. Looking forward to trying the restaurants next time. 🙂

You can hear the street activities and were woken up by a yelling man on the street one morning. Not the hotels fault and we had a city view so could see what was going on down below which was entertaining also.

Property was very clean & comfortable with mostly friendly staff. I really enjoyed the convenience of the location and the night life inside the hotel was awesome!!

During my stay at this property, we were told that we did not have the option of getting fresh bottles of water which was quite inconvenience. In addition the unfriendly/condescending attitude & tone from the staff member (receptionist) was demeaning and unnecessary. While I do understand the property’s concerns for the environment and sustainability, this delivery did not convey the message very well. In the end, we were able to get bottled water from the friendlier concierge and bellhop on the property. One solution is to make guests aware of this concerns while checking in.

Staff, beds super comfortable- 9th floor view abs room was divine! Complimentary Coffee was good.

We were disappointed that we requested a room in the quietest location available, both online and upon checkin, and then saw that we were put in 304, right next to the gym. The next day we heard. A guy repeatedly dropping weights on the floor- our whole room shook. This isn’t acceptable for any guest. Fortunately, the reception staff did move us to a much better room, but we really can’t understand why we were initially put in that location, given our obvious requests for a quiet location.

The location of the hotel is central to restaurants, cafes, shopping, and sites. The front desk staff, housekeeping staff and restaurant staff st the hotel were very professional and friendly and helpful. A shout out to the valet team at the hotel! They always greeted us with a smile and positive attitude. They also provided us with information about the surrounding towns. Highly recommend thus hotel!!!

Great staff, amazing room and amenities in the room. Tallest tower in the city, which is amazing for finding your way back; you just can't get lost. Coffee in the morning was ok. We didn't eat at either of the restaurants/bars, but there was some live music in the lobby one day, which was really cool. Very central location, though not a quiet one. Stay in the outskirts if you want quiet or artsy.

Parking could have been better. It was hard to tell which side of the building was the entrance, so we had to park on the street to go in and ask. Signage could have been better. The other complaint is that parking is lacking. As in, there is no parking at the hotel. We ended up using the valet parking ($30/day + tip), but they just use the Mariott deck across the street that you could park yourself in (although you'd have to pay every time you entered and left). However, if you're using a cab to get to the hotel, this won't be a concern to you.

Loved-my most favorite thing was the individually wrapped bags of ice versus an ice machine. Brilliant! Easy to grab a divided up amongst our reusable cups. Beautiful design/decor of lobby and rooms, great layout of rooms, bedding so soft – love Egyptian cotton and the beds were so comfortable including the feather pillows. Loved the bathroom: wonderful shower and soft towels. Nice vibe in bar and restaurant. Delicious food: Pizza oven is a plus and their homemade bread for breakfast!

I do like to self park and they only had valet. It’s not the end of the world.

The valet parking is a ripoff. They charge an extortionate amount and then just drive it across the street to another hotel"s garage. When I first arrived I asked at the desk where I should park and they basically said there was none available near the hotel and I would have to valet it which was apparently untrue.

Very nice hotel with great views of the city. Very spacious rooms and very nice bathrooms as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Service was just as great too. Whenever I needed something they were able to bring it up within a few minutes.

The only thing I kind of disliked was the bathroom door. Yes, it was big and very stylish but not very practical sometimes. Along with the door to the toilet room too. It might as well be an open door in there. The beds could have been a little softer, did not get the best sleep on them.

Just great, we had to spend more time in than we expected because of a blizzard and it was a great outcome. Only added to our excitement about Kimptons. Enthusiastic and personable staff, felt like a bargain even though fancy! Smart elevators a little nutty but good. ONLY reservation would be the main restaurant -- It was lovely and the staff great but we didn't love the food -- apparently a local restaurant outfit, for us not as good as preferred Asheville places we know, though it's a very-varied, competitive and often silly scene anyway. But our two brunches were fair at best.

Breakfast was delicious, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Valets, servers, front desk, AGM were all so helpful. Pet-friendly, but amazingly clean. Comfortable beds, perfect.

I am an early riser, and would have preferred to have a coffee option earlier than 7am, but this is a minor thing. I'm sure if I had asked they would have served me coffee any time.
