Courtyard by Marriott Portland City Center

The location is perfect. There are restaurants, parks, mini marts if you need one and if needing a grocery store... That's not a far drive either. I absolutely love the corner room. They do have a restaurant in the hotel, a bit pricey with a small menu but the food was descent. Only did that one night, being the menu is really small. I added a picture from the seating area by the window and a view from the bathroom! I'm sure when it rains it looks nice too. I'm a scenery person so this room was perfect, I'm hoping to get the other side next time!

For the price you're paying for your stay(s), complimentary breakfast would be a nice offer. It's downtown so... You definitely get what's to be sadly expected. You'll see men and women sitting or laying around also; there's a little tent area not far and the smell when you're walking will definitely hit you from the urine but... I still felt safe walking around. So... There wasn't a dislike, just a heads up for anyone going to stay here.

Due to safety concerns for your vehicle we used valet parking and paid the extra fees, then used Uber and Lyft to maneuver around the city. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful from the front desk, valet and restaurant employees

While I was warned about the downtown area I had no idea how bad it was until we arrived. We had an event to attend in the downtown area so that is why we stayed downtown but we will never go to the downtown area again. This is not a reflection on the hotel, but a lot needs to be done to clean up the city.

The hotel itself was clean and neat. Staff was very courteous. There was security at the door and present most of the time. Felt safe inside.

The location is a little sketchy. The city of Portland has an over abundance of homeless and drugs are everywhere and not policed. Did not feel safe going outside in the evenings or early morning without a male companion.

The staff was INCREDIBLE!!! So welcoming, accommodating, and supportive!! They offered each family member an umbrella for the unexpected downpour and upgraded our room for no additional cost knowing we needed space for one more adult. Excellent location and absolutely everything no more than a 10 min walk away. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was so good!! LOVED that we could enjoy the warm fire in the lobby and feel so welcomed with our doggies!

Very convenient location downtown with easy access to everything that we needed during our stay. There are several Max train stations within the vicinity. This made is especially helpful to explore the city via public transit. Union Station is a 10 minute walk for those arriving on Amtrak The check in process was super simple and they had a room ready for us upon arrival at 11am on a Friday. Their attached restaurant is currently closed, but there are plenty of food pods and other dining options within a 5 minute walk. The room was also very spacious for two people. I would recommend a stay based on the price and location.

Wish breakfast was available at the price paid, but this wasn't a deal breaker. No major cons came out this property or stay.

Room, hotel staff, and price were perfect for downtown. You are Super close to anything . You can go to restaurants, bars, and cool venues all within a 5-10 minute walk. I really liked the safety procedures for getting in and out of the hotel for guests.

Downtown Portland though is pretty grimey, so be prepared. Lots of boarded-up buildings, homeless and trash everywhere. Nothing the Hotel could have done, but they have safety procedures to make sure, not just anyone walks in.

The room was large and very comfortable. I slept well and enjoyed the facilities generally. The staff was very friendly.

I had a narrow but tall window that looked out into a narrow alleyway. Not a big deal as I wasn't there to spend my time looking out the window, but not the most pleasant view.

Good rooms and position

The surroundings are plenty of homeless and drug addicted people, it’s not hotel’s responsibility, Municipality should care about these poor guys and locals/visitors as well. Until this social issue is not fixed I m not visiting Portland any more!

Parking needed to be purchased but even though it was $40 a night, I think it was worth it as the hotel was located in the center of Portland and well, it is wise to pay for parking underground.

It would have been nice if the onsite restaurant was open. BUT it did "force" me to go across the street for Starbucks in the morning and across the street in the Bank Corp building restaurant for happy hour on the 30th floor overlooking the city ;) .

Location was great. Easy waking distance to public transportation, food trucks and Powell’s. The rooms are clean and new and the bed is comfy.

It’s not really a problem with the hotel but the city in general which you’ll encounter the minute you step out of the hotel. Expect that some businesses are closed and always stay alert. Portland has been dealing with riots, homelessness and gun violence this past year . I’m really hoping it will recover soon so I can come back.
