AC Hotel by Marriott Portland Downtown, OR

I had a previous hotel booked and felt so uncomfortable that I had to switch. I'm so happy I picked the AC Hotel. Immediately I felt comfortable and safe. The staff was so cheerful and informative. The room had music playing as I walked in which made me smile. It was clean, warm, comfortable and modern. A beautiful room with a central location to Downtown Portland. We walked to the mall for shopping, coffee around the corner and dinner down the street. Valet was super quick and helpful as well. The only downside was parking but they made it easy and swift, so I didn't have to worry about the safety of my car. Couldn't be more thankful for this safe and comforting hotel.

The parking situation wasn't ideal. Having to pay $50 for valet or worry about street parking. Wasn't a fan of paying that price but the attentiveness and friendliness of the valet staff made it worth it!

Room was nice and clean, location was great staff was friendly. Work out room was by appointment allowing only one person in there at a time

Free wifi was unsecured, and you had to pay for secured wifi. At this price of a hotel room that's ridiculous for something that you can get at your local Starbucks. No other issues

The room was lovely - very simple decor, but sophisticated and well laid-out. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the furnishings (bed, sofa etc) were extremely comfortable. The main bar in the lobby was a nice feature and the layout was generally great. The staff were professional and efficient.

The shower feature was somewhat difficult to figure out - we couldn't get the waterfall function to work and there were no instructions. The valet service was very convenient, but rather pricey considering the overall parking situation in Portland.

Loved the minimalist design of the rooms and building in general. Very clean (no carpet, hooray!) and everything looks new. The room didn’t have a good view but we got early check-in and later check-out.

The location was great for shopping—but perhaps not the best for restaurants (Pearl District has better ones).

The rooms were clean and spacious. I like the hardwood vs carpet. The gym facilities were great too. I specially liked the hydration stations. These should be in every single hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The only thing is that it was noisy. I was woken up each morning around 5 am with street noise. Thicker windows would be great or noise cancelling machines.

Valet was absolutely fantastic, though at times it felt like they were overworked. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Pet friendly. Location pretty good, could walk everywhere. Lots of people walking by thanks to Luc Lac nextdoor, so felt quite safe for downtown

Not obvious at first, but had lumps of hair / dust on corners. Would have expected better cleaning. I think I was supposed to get a free booking.com upgrade to King + sofa bed but got the regular 2 queen instead. Didn't really mind so it was okay, but if you're someone who cares you should definitely double check.

I have stayed many times business at AC Marriott in other locations so was familiar with the brand and it did not disappoint. This time , I was staying for a brief trip to Portland for a wedding at a winery half hour away but we wanted to stay closer to Portland attractions. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy and we did not hear any hallway noise. My only comment would be that if carafes and ice are no longer provided, it would be nice to have bottled water in the rooms. Staff explained we could call and make and requests but nothing deemed unnecessary is included in rooms now.

Hotel bar and food is minimal. Bar closes early, food minimal.

My second stay at the AC... the staff are always very nice and attentive... the rooms are modern, clean and well kept... located right downtown, close to just about everything... The bar is staffed by friendly, helpful bartenders and the prices are reasonable...

The hotel bar could be open before 5pm for us thirsty travelers... Unfortunately downtown Portland is getting dirtier and dirtier upon each visit...

Location was very close to the start/finish of the Portland Marathon/Half Marathon. Room was clean and spacious with a nice fridge. Enjoyed having access to a glass bottle for getting water from the hydration stations on each floor.

Price was more than I would have liked to pay. Hotel staff encouraged using valet parking due to car break ins so that was an extra $45+ a night. Also due to Covid, hotel restaurant was closed and no microwave in room.

Location was great, easy walking around downtown and close to Pearl district. Room was great, clean etc. Staff were fantastic they let me check-in to my room extremely early since my flight got in very early. They also were accommodating and brought my food delivery up to my room for me, etc.

Personally even with the heat turned up as high as it would go I was still cold! Another downside is the on-site parking is v expensive so I didn'' want to deal w/ renting a car overnight.
