Hampton Inn Downingtown/Exton

For a free breakfast it was actually pretty good. There was a selection of 3 juices and filtered water every morning during the breakfast hours. Most days about halfway through that time a hot breakfast was served; usually eggs and bacon or eggs and french toast. There were granola. Bars, fresh oranges, and oatmeal available. You had a choice of 3 cereals with milk, and 4 or 5 different bagels that could be toasted and had butter, cream cheese, and jelly. All items were made to grab and go to keep guests distanced as well as spaced tables that were disinfected after any use and all stations were kept clean and restocked.

Due to covid, some cleaning services were changed. Towels and garbage was to be left outside your doors in the morning, which sometimes caused additional clutter in the hallways and could have bad odors as you walked by. And didnt get as much day to day cleaning or changing or sheets unless you took care of it. Big cleaning would only be done once a guest checked out of the room.

Excellent, friendly staff. They really made me feel welcome and appreciated. Shout out to the front desk female on the night of Tuesday, 2/21 at around 10 pm. I wish I could remember her name, but she was great, as was the front desk person the following morning. Very nice, greeted customers with beautiful smile. Carmen in the breakfast dining area was also wonderful. She worked the room, talking to everyone in the area, wanting to make sure that their breakfast was good. Truly, it was a mediocre breakfast, but it was free, and Carmen made it all the better! The room was clean, was a generous size, the shower pressure was good, and the pillows were comfortable.

The parking situation was my biggest problem. Cars park outside the rooms, perpendicular to the windows of the rooms, so really, the cars pull right up to the outside of the windows of the rooms. It was a problem for me, because I heard the beep-beep of cars locking pretty much all night, as well as conversations of the customers standing outside, chatting and laughing. Unfortunately, it was around 6:30 am that the car outside my window started to pack up. I had gotten in late and was exhausted, so I was really irritated. There was a loud cackling woman right beside my window, and they clearly didn't care that they were making a lot of noise. I didn't get a good night's sleep here.

Out of 4 nights of travel this was by far our best experience. Absolutely wonderful! Lovely girl who answered the phone & wished us safe travels. Mike was so welcoming & sweet when we arrived. The bed, pillows & bathroom were all soooo clean. I could've stayed forever. Breakfast was delicious & an abundant variety. Loved that they are being so environmentally conscious with soap, shampoo, body gel, etc. Would highly recommend!!

The only thing that would make this even better would be a slightly more fluffy towel.

The staff at this hotel are so nice. The front desk lady, Sandee, was so friendly. On Saturday morning, we went to breakfast & were greeted by multiple employees telling us good morning. The breakfast attendant was so nice, asking if everyone was ok or needed anything. The room was clean, bed was ok. One wall light didn't work but there were plenty of other lights in the room. Red velvet waffles...👍🏼😋

Everything was great

Breakfast was good. It had a hot option eggs when I was there. The location is excellent right off the turnpike and in an excellent area for dining, and sightseeing. The staff especially Dee was awesome very friendly and helpful.

We requested an accessible room and we got it. However the industry overall needs to go further in accommodating people with disabilities. Handrails should be on the sides of the toilet, so guests can get up. Also the bathing area needs to have a handle on the bench. Since the facility doesn’t have daily cleaning services, extra trash bags can be kept in the bottom of the waste baskets.

everything was very clean. The pool was absolutely phenomenal.

The breakfast there was no waffle batter left to make waffles. I was told I have to wait till she makes another batch of waffles. I waited a half an hour. She never returned. They had strawberry waffle batter. However, my kid is allergic to strawberry . The original they were out.

Breakfast was just ok. The hotel and rooms were great.

I did not get the discount on the room for the reunion, due to the hotel being sold out. So the hotel said. I went online and got a room. Since I booked it elsewhere, the hotel did not honor the discount. But for the reunion, the rooms were not conducive to our party. We had guests eat dinner standing up out side the main room. Not very good!

I chose the Hampton Inn Downingtown (HID) because it was a pet-friendly property. And it certainly is pet-friendly. the grounds surrounding the property are expansive, the poop-bags and receptacles make everything convenient. the elevators are fairly quiet so as not to "spook" pets, the rooms are nearly soundproof so that barking and people walking down the hallway do not create unnecessary breakouts of noise.

I didn't experience anything I didn't like while at the HID.

Location was excellent for us as we were visiting our son who lives about two miles away. I liked having coffee available at 11:30 pm and it tasted good. The room was very comfortable and quiet.

The egg thing for morning breakfast was very dry, not flavorful., and we weren’t sure what it was supposed to be - an omelet? The sausage patty was also not very appealing. We would rather have had scrambled eggs and bacon.

Checking in and checking out were very easy. My room was very clean and so was the bathroom. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and the breakfast had a lot of options.

Everything was likeable here. It was very easy to use the digital key to get into my clean room and I always enjoy being able to grab a bite for breakfast.
