Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bluffton at Hilton Head Area, an IHG Hotel

the front desk Rockeyesa Bowman Front office Manager could not find Bookings reservation. So she gave me a room that I payed for with American Express. But Booking had already charged me on my Discover Card. When i called the number for Booking I was told by Victoria that it was never completed. I have an on going dispute With Booking to refund my charge on Discover.

Booking that picked up an email I never use. Because it (email) is tied to my home Computer. But I made the reservation thru my Ipad. Which only has my Yahoo acount. Dont understand how Booking could even pick that up. But the front desk at the hotel didnt have any reservation under my name . So even the email would have had my name. Please get Booking to refund my Discover account.

I opted to not rent a car this trip and the location of the hotel was perfect for being carless! Grocery store, Target, multiple restaurants, gift shop - all within a block and without crossing a busy street. The staff was friendly and accommading.

Ugh. Prices for lodging in this area have skyrocketed. This property wasn't out of line for the area, but over $700 for four nights at an Express was surprising. So.. not a complaint to this property, but bemoaning the market.

Arrive at 3:00 after requesting early check-in! Was told no rooms available yet, but would call me as soon as one was ready. After no call, went back at 5:00 and had to wait for two couples who were checking in. I asked why no one ever called me - response was, “We’ve been real busy, Sweetie.” As one who teaches Customer Service, that’s the wrong answer! You should never be too busy to respond to a customer! Secondly, Sweetie is not the proper way to address a customer. One desk clerk addressed me this way 4-5 times in 60 seconds! Employees are the front line contact with your present and future customers. The two working Thursday could use some better training!

There were 2 minor issues. First, if you come into the mall complex from the Rt. 46 entrance there should be a small sign at the first stop sign directing you to take a right to the hotel. The only sign I saw was on the other side of the mall which I saw after driving around the complex for a while. Second, the AC in the room was great, but certainly not needed during the cool days and nights I was there. Tried to shut the AC off, but was not successful. Didn't bother staff because i didn't want to appear dumb for such an easy task. Written directions in the room might help.

Large and very comfortable room! Nice and quiet, don't think I heard a single neighbor at all. I did *not* want to get out of that bed in the morning, the mattress was amazing. Staff was very pleasant. There are dedicated dog walking areas with pickup bags handy, which was super nice.

I wouldn't call it a dislike, just a preference: I got an accessible room when I didn't need one because that was what was available for my very last minute booking. I don't pick accessible rooms when I have the option, so people who need them can have them instead. There was nothing at all wrong with the room itself!

The room was spacious and clean. We loved the bench and long chaise lounge for our luggage, as well as the closet for our hanging clothes. The bathroom sink/vanity was perfect for getting ready and the lighted mirror was amazing! The shower wall dispensers of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were great! Gina was a "Ray of Sunshine" at the front desk and was so kind to add our stay to our IHG account, since we booked our stay from my cell phone enroute. The bed was so comfortable after a long day of travel. We will be back!!!

Not a big deal, but there was no oatmeal at the breakfast buffet. There were cheese omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy in the hot station. Bagels and muffins were available, but no gluten free items. Again, not a problem for the average traveler without dietary restrictions (we eat gluten free, dairy free). We traveled with our own oatmeal, so we got two cups of hot water from the tea station and took bowls, spoons and bananas to our room and used the microwave, which was perfect.

Breakfast was very good. Location was great. The room was very big and roomy, but so much room was wasted. We had a king bed and there was half a room left over. Would have been nice to have a small table and chairs or a a couple of chairs or recliner. With all the room we had, the only comfortable place to sit was on the bed.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by the front desk clerk. She was very cheerful and friendly as she efficiently checked us in. The lobby was clean and bright with coffee and warm chocolate chip cookies for a delicious welcome. Our room was spotless with tile flooring, nice furniture and a soft, fluffy comforter on the bed. We slept well and enjoyed a great breakfast with an impressive selection of both hot and cold items. I would definitely stay here again!

Clean, plenty of parking, super nice staff, and relatively decent price <20min from Hilton Head Island. Cold A/C.

Breakfast was free, but eggs and meats were terrible (NOT compatible to Marriott chains with Waffle Makers). Back of property felt a little unprotected, it would have felt better having a fence around the back of the parking lot.

The room was very spacious, breakfast was great, and it had toiletries incase you forgot some shampoo and conditioner. The bed is super comfy!

The water pressure was ok, could be better. The temperature of the water never adjusted to what you wanted, it always stayed hot. Bathroom vent gave off a funny smell.
