Motel 6-Kingsport, TN

My microwave was broken and they replaced it right away. Of concern is bath faucet could not be turned off completely and motel losing great amounts of water. Hot water container for tea had black bits in it- probably old. Informed staff re water in room and hot water container problem.Very friendly staff.

3am one morning sounded like someone was throwing the cleaning carts around or throwing out trash. Very disturbing

The bed was very comfortable slept very good. No problems there. But just a few concerns. The toilet could be updated to today,not 1980s. Very small and no water pressure. Had an issue at 12 midnight as I was getting ready to go to sleep. Had to take an extra 20 minutes to fix toilet issues. And at the same time the front desk doors are locked after 11pm. Couldn't get a cold drink until after 6am. Aggravating. Over all it was fine but will probably look elsewhere next time.

Excellent stay! Not your common budget motel. The rooms are renovated and very clean with faux wood flooring. Beds are very comfortable. Towels are nice. They provided daily cleaning, which no one does anymore. Free coffee and tea in the lobby, ice machine and coin laundry. Rooms have a microwave and a nice sized mini fridge. The only reason I gave a 9 instead of 10 overall rating is (1) because the wifi was a very weak signal and kept dropping but I just used my hotspot instead, and (2) because I had ants. They actually sprayed while I was there, but the ants and little centipedes still came around. Thank you so much!

The room was spacious and very clean. There was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room and also a little table with 2 chairs which was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of restaurants nearby that you could walk to. It was not fancy, but it was just what you need.

The hotel is located on a busy road and the door opens to the outside so you can hear a little noise from the road inside the room, but it's not enough to keep you awake. The busy road also does not have sidewalks but thankfully, a great Mexican restaurant is located very close by.

Room was clean except for an ant issue, for which the manager wanted to spray for but since I have a dog with me, he put down bait traps instead and I thought that was very nice of him. Bed was very comfortable, the only thing I wish the room had would be a comfortable chair, there are 2 hard chairs for the small table but hardly comfortable.

The only thing I would change would be to have at least 1 upholstered chair in the room. The parking lot is very small and even though they say they have truck parking, it's definitely not big enough for a big rig or even a small straight truck like a U-Haul, for that we had to park to park next door at Arby's.

The staff was very kind. I had a pretty nasty nosebleed and pretty much ruined a pillow case, and bled on the sheets. I called housekeeping in to tell them, and figured I would need to pay to replace them, but the housekeeping staff was very kind and understanding. The room was kind of small, but perfect for two guests, and very clean. The first thing I noticed when I opened the door to the room was how great the room smelled.

This was not a problem for me, since it was just for two guests, but if you have more than two guests in a king room, the standard king room might be a little small. But for me, it was fine.

There were no extra services. The room was clean, but slightly outdated. The ice machine worked well. Great selection of channels on TV. The shower was hot with a lot of water pressire, but there was some mold looking stuff in a few spots. The mini fridge worked well. The air conditioning was adequate, but not cold on high, like most are. The location was fine. The room was what I expected for the price. The man behind the counter when I checked out was friendly and seemed fine.

The worst part was the check in. The worker behind the counter had 3 people in line and seemed so sleepy (?) that she seemed to have fellen asleep while checking people in. When someone asked if she was OK, she looked up, confused, and said "what?" and then said she was just concentrating. One person left to go elsewhere because of how she was. She was more alert when she checked me in, but she was aggitated over the other person asking if she was OK. She said she had been up since 4:30 that morning and then she told me she had a toothache. Then she dropped the "f" bomb quietly. I almost left. If I had not made the reservation ahead of time and didn't want to hassle over getting a refund, I am sure I would have left.

It is the cleanest Motel 6 in the chain..... I don’t stay at most..... I think the cleaning gal or House Cleaning Supervisor Margaret (maybe she is the Asst Manager) clearly is committed to the property and is there front and center every time I stay. I stay at the property 6-8 nights a month for business, and Manager Steve is happy to take my reservations well in advance and have my room ready. Steve seems to have a very commited staff thaf he should be proud of- they help him make this property an ambassador for the chain!

Had a good stay except 1. the floor needed to be cleaned/mopped. 2. Housekeeping knocked on the door just before 9 am and check out time is 11. No "Do not disturb" sign in the room. Only complaints I have. Definitely will be staying there again.

Motel 6 was near the airport where my family was arriving. The room looked newly renovated and very attractive. We especially liked the absence of a carpet and the hard floor. The refrigerator was appreciated very much, too!

There was no parking spaces in front of our room. It was raining when I arrived so it was difficult getting the bags into the room without getting them wet when I had to park a distance away from the door.
