Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis-Beale Street

This was my BDAY GETAWAY/RETREAT. I arrived a little early so I had to wait about an hour and a half before I was able to actually check in but the guy at the front desk was simply amazing. He was extremely friendly, had loads of personality and was very professional and accommodating. Breakfast was prepackaged, which was a huge plus for me. The lady handling breakfast was super friendly. I stayed for two nights so it was a real pleasure to see a warm pleasant smile at 6am. The hotel was located a very short walk from Beale Street and about a 6 minute walk to the Main Street Trolley stop. You could hear the music from Beale Street but they provided ear plugs in the room (I know awesome, right?). So the hustle and bustle of the street that I could incidentally see from my room (I know again, awesome, right?) seemed miles away. During my booking I kind of cringed at the parking fee charged by the hotel but after seeing the deck I changed my opinion. First it was less than others in the area were charging. Second, once I parked my vehicle I was one and done. I wasn't concerned about my vehicle at all. I found a space on Level 2 which was super convenient. The Parking deck itself was secure, had cameras and was located about 70 steps from the front door of the hotel...this meant peace of mind for me. Best $19/day I ever spent, especially since I was traveling alone. The pool was open (Big plus because it was hot as the African Savannah that weekend). If I had a complaint, it would be that the pump in the pool didn't seem to working that well because there was hair floating and small debris on the water surface. However, the room itself was clean, well arranged and I felt safe. You could smell the chlorine and the water was crystal clear. So it was obvious it was getting some attention. Overall, awesome stay. I was very satisfied, I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Memphis and I highly recommend it to others visiting the area.

Very close to Beale St!

I tried to contact the property numerous times through the booking app and never got a response. I even tried to call them twice and was told they were either busy with another customer or shift change and to call back in 15 to 30 minutes. Poor customer service. I also had a room temperature issue and called the front desk to ask for a fan. They bluntly said no, they didn't have fans but would notify someone about the heat...never heard anything else. My room was 83°. I had to use cool cloths and a hand fan from my purse to cool down! Other than that, the room was great.

I was pleased that in this era of COVID, I was able to get a hot breakfast.

The entire hotel staff was so friendly! Tammy was the first person that we met and she went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we went to a grizzlies game. The parking was $12 a day and very easy and convenient! We were right next to Beal Street but when we went back to our room we did not hear any loud noises. The breakfast was good. The only issue and it really wasn't a big problem for us is only one elevator works so there are times when the elevator gets backed up. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Memphis. Thanks again Tammy for all of your help and even a better route to get us back home to Florida.

We did not receive housekeeping the entire time that we were there. When I asked about it we were told that you have to ask 24 hours to advance. So I just cleaned myself and ask for sheets and towels. I was told it was because of new covid restrictions.

location was awesome, loud but awesome!! bed was the comfiest bed I ever slept in. housekeeping was not good.

In our 6 night stay, our room was not cleaned at all, we filled in the blue card, asked at reception. after the fourth day and blood on my sheets from my husbands eczema scratching in the night, I pleaded with reception to make sure our bed linens were changed. we arrived back that afternoon to find the housekeeper had been in but the bed had been re made with the same bloody sheets!!! not good. I had to clean the bathroom floor myself with towels. for a Hilton hotel, I was very surprised.

First of all, what stood out the most is that the entire staff was super friendly and awesome! We were checked in by Tre and he was knowledgeable, courteous, and patient with ALL of the customers. The breakfast was free, tasty and had a huge variety. Perfect location, as Bealle St was easily walkable, as it was only a short block away. You can go to BB Kings and have a few beers, listen to some great bands, and walk home safely. Parking was a breeze and we took our vehicle in and out everyday to explore the entire city. Room was very comfortable and clean. We would stay here again.

the property itself was very nice- in the ideal location and we had no idea there would be so many festivities happening during our stay 9/1-9/5 . the beds are super comfortable and make it hard to get out of 🤭. Everything was clean we had no rings in the tub or around it the sink was clean - Hotel housekeeping staff can be a bit loud in the morning but you know what…. I wasn’t there to sleep in and the are very nice when the greet you. overall a very nice place to stay. I had an incident where I forgot my card key to the room ( I didn’t bring anything down since I was going to a wedding) and I asked the desk clerk if he could allow me back into the room to get it but issues that took place to get up there was unreal. He literally just watched us come off the elevator but didn’t want to let me up because I had no id! Wait - what ?? I showed him debit card I payed with for the room and photo of DL on my phone and nope 👎 he said I needed my physical DL. So after a bit of back n forth he eventually escorted me up to show him my DL and get the card key. No budging for this guy - but ultimately I respected him for that especially with everything going on he was absolutely doing his job 👍🏼 Kudos for standing his ground! Safety first ❤️We will be back again to this hotel, but next time I’ll remember my card key 😀

my only gripe is the water pressure in the shower could be turned up a bit and the breakfast could use a lil more options. nothing worth complaining about, it’s just to tidy you over until you get a bite to eat.

The Hotel is right next to Beale St. which we liked. It was also close to some good restaurants and the Peabody Hotel. I loved the fact that the parking garage is so convenient. We felt safe staying in the hotel with the room keys needed to activate the elevator. The Hotel was clean and the complimentary breakfast was good.

It's a fact that the Hotel is exposed to noise which we understood this to be. The Hotel even has a sign posted that states that there will be noise and if that is a problem, the Hotel may not be the best fit. If we return I would ask to stay in a room on the street side of the Hotel.

EVERYTHING about our stay was perfect! We didn't reach our hotel until the evening, but it was so much fun to pull up and immediately be met by the lights and music of Beale Street! (NOTE: despite the proximity, noise was not a problem in our room.) All staff members were incredibly pleasant, and after some of our crew went a little too hard and our room needed some cleaning after our first night, they did a beautiful job for us (upon request). DELICIOUS complementary breakfast. As an added bonus, we had booked two rooms, and they had an adjoining door, making our stay that much more convenient and enjoyable. Easy walking distance to the Civil Rights Museum as well.

Nothing. One of the best hotel-stays I have ever had. Could not be more satisfied!

Front desk personnel were amazing. Super cordial and professional. They also made sure checkin and check out was easy as pie.

I wish there was a soda vending machine on the upper floors. Otherwise everything is great.
