Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol

Room was comfortable, TV was big, ac cold, stayed dark with blinds in morning, comfy bed, no housing came knocking on door in morning. 🙂

Some middle aged short very red haired lady working night shift was very rude. She bud into me and the other front desk employee conversation while checking in denying my request for late check out, even though I am a bon voy member. Which was later accepted which I figured she was just being ugly for no reason. Also $42 parking not included, plus $20 every y time you leave is rediculous.

Great location!! A short walk to 6th and 7th street (appx 4-5 blocks) about 8-10mins. Front desk was quick, easy and Sara was very welcoming and courteous. Up to the room and the room was very clean, smelled nice, temperature was perfect, the climate control worked as it should and wasn't overly humid and musty in the room. Linens were clean, crisp and comfortable. The bed was perfect and we slept great with both of us having back issues, it wasn't too stiff nor soft.

Having to pay for parking in a place you are already paying for is pretty insane since they do have a parking garage. The amount of traffic in the area is terrible and worth the extra amount to just pay for valet and avoid the hassle. The rooms are a bit outdated and in need of updating. Shower was slow to drain but everything did work.

The staff were exceptionally helpful, including one of the receptionist allowing me to borrow their personal phone charger as I had not had time to buy one yet for USA. The location is great for seeing lots of the main sights. The rooms are clean and spacious with very comfortable beds.

Honestly their was nothing I didn't like, but in order to write something, 2 of the 3 elevators were either broken or not working properly, and the food I tried in the restaurant was fine but nothing special at all.

The rooms are nice and the location is good. Staff gave me free breakfast passes to make up for the pool closure and construction noise.

The construction is a bit off-putting but it will be great when it is finished! The pool was closed and we are in a major heat wave so that was a bit unfortunate. But this is not the fault of the facility and will be remedied once construction is complete.

The facility was clean and safe.

The woman in the valey was extremely passive aggressive to me when I expressed concerns about parking my vehicle. I had a very tall vehicle and I was concerned about it fitting in the garage. Long story short, the vehicle was parked right next to the valet.

Everything! Especially the service from the lady at check in to the waiter at the restaurant and the gentleman that brought us some extra blankets, We were just coming back from New York and we’re so disappointed with the service in general over there so coming back to Texas and being received that way plus the night rate being affordable, really felt so good, Please keep up the good work.

The bartenders are great at the in house restaurant.

The price was pretty expensive for a hotel that seemed to be in a somewhat sketchy location. I walked from the hotel to 6th street and I had to walk several blocks where I was a bit concerned for my safety. Also the bathrooms were not working on the hotel level where the conference I attended was being held. This made it difficult to be able to go to the restroom and not miss anything.

Really nice pool area. We spent alot of time there as it was really hot that weekend. Comfortable bed, nice sized room, within walking distance to many restaurants and the river park and a store.

Ran out of shampoo and coffee the first day. No maid service that day. I asked at the front desk if they had any shampoo and coffee. They sent someone up to our room within minutes with an ample supply of shampoo and coffee.

I loved how it was within walking distance to boutiques and coffee shops on one side of I-35 and is also within walking distance to 6th street and Rainey St. It also had really upscale communal areas. the employees were all super nice and welcoming.

the remotes for the tv need to be replaced and why doesn’t the TV guide on the tv work? other than the tv being only a little inconvenient. it was a great value.

beautiful lobby and wonderful staff. everyone was so friendly and helpful.

the only thing was our hotel room had some things that were outdated/broken. the handles on our bathroom sink were broken and had to play with it to turn water on and off. the rooms don’t match the overall style of the lobby so that was a little confusing.
