Texas Inn & Suites McAllen at La Plaza Mall and Airport

The location is south of the airport close to where we were visiting, so it worked out great. The room's look is modern, is spacious, and was very clean. A clean room meaning other hotels have carpet that gets dirty and can have pet hair, while this hotel room has tile flooring that appears is kept clean. The place was quiet during our stay, so we slept well. We stayed there during the week. WiFi was available at no extra charge when we were there. There is also food and fuel businesses nearby, so that was not an issue when needed.

The hotel does not have continental breakfast, at least during our stay there was not. However, this was not an issue for us because the room was equipped with a small fridge and microwave, which was nice since we had fruits, cereals, and snacks with us during our stay.

My room was VERY clean. The room is simple, but it serves it’s purpose and it’s also very big! it was also a huge help that the hotel allows pets for a small fee. Great location, close to the mall, lots of dining and downtown McAllen. The bed was very comfortable and staff was great.

Nothing at all

The staff was about the nicest staff I've encountered in a while. They were always available and always helpful and always on site and every time I called, they fixed whatever was wrong right away and the lady who cleans was happy doing her job and super helpful and constantly asking us if we needed anything, which we didn't because they had provided pretty much everything. The bed was super comfy and they had plenty of channels to choose from and the volume on the TV was loud enough, but not too loud and everything was clean and the shower pressure was amazing! We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the hot tub worked perfectly and the light switch behind the microwave changed the color of the water and it was so pretty. We came out of there very relaxed.

The picture of the honeymoon suite shows a lot of furniture, but when we got there, there was no dresser, no chair, no decor, literally just a bed and one arm chair by the window and a TV. It was so empty that our clothes and belongings had to stay packed in our bags on the floor. I understand they probably removed stuff for COVID or for cleaning, but a heads up about how the room doesn't look that way at the moment would've been nice. It looked and felt very un-home like. Also, the comforter was a little thin so we had trouble staying warm, but for McAllen it was 33 degrees which almost never happens, so I understand that they don't typically need thick comforters down there.

Really nice. Welcoming and helpful staff. Pet friendly. Clean. Super comfy bed.

Would be nice if there were a coffee maker in the room or coffee offered in the lobby in the mornings.

well the jacuzzi tub did not work and we stayed 2 days it was disappointing spend extra money for just that reason for the tub and didn’t work 😞

The cameras , they have it make me feel secure

It was not clean , dust , and we found tape on the floor the towels had air from someone

Price was affordable and the beds were comfortable. Close to everything.

The paint on the walls needs to be touched up to look cleaner but other than the stay was good.

Location is great close a gas station and grocery store. Room space very good. It is very clean. We requested a frist floor and the staff assigned it for us.
