Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk-Downtown

The breakfast keeps me choosing Embassy Suites whenever I travel. My week stay was amazing thanks to Amber each morning with a welcoming smile and pleasant conversation. My last day going down for breakfast was not as warm, she was off, and the other workers barely spoke unless you asked for something. Regardless of their language barrier they can smile and be cordial. I would like to see Amber in a better role she has such a people loving personality. Also, the tables were not as clean as when she is on duty in the morning and when we asked on the last day for it to be cleaned it was just a wet towel used no spray that Amber usually uses that gets all the sticky grimy stuff off the tables. Alot of the workers did not speak English and made it quite difficult when at times requesting items, I had to reach back in my Spanish dictionary this week. When we checked in it was after midnight, and the front desk clerk was not very pleasant, we were tired flight delayed twice so Amber or a person like her would have been a welcome surprise. The front desk people during the day were nice, had an issue with the Range restaurant they quickly solved it, and were very friendly. Overall, Amber each morning for breakfast and being with our friends and family really made coming back home to visit amazing. I will probably stay here again, due to the location. They were very crowded and booked during our stay and it was quiet each night. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping very attentive. The Christmas decor was fabulous!!!

The sofa bed needs to be replaced and the pillows were very hard. They are long too big and were very uncomfortable. The furniture outdated and very heavy, so for them to be downtown in a premier location they need to have more modern and updated furniture.

This was a great location near the end of the Riverwalk. All of the attractions were no more than a 5-minute walk away from the hotel. The breakfast was decent and the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

The on-site parking was expensive and a little chaotic. The water-view rooms were considerably more than the street-view rooms. I was very displeased with the host at the restaurant. We were advised that we needed a reservation and they had no tables available. He was very snarky and after we informed him that we were guests at the hotel and we were not aware of the needed “reservation” he miraculously found a few tables. We will not patronize this establishment again.

Love the location. Love happy hour. Love breakfast.

The bathroom did look clean. The sink especially needed some attention. The sheets on the hide-a-bed were not clean. They had obviously been slept on and then not checked by the cleaning staff. That’s very disappointing considering my 2 night stay was $900 dollars. I expect better from a hotel that charges that much for a weekend stay. Also, the ac didn’t work well. I did speak to the front desk about that but they didn’t offer much assistance.

Great view of the river. Great location. Easy access into driveway and out. Brian at front desk was helpful in suggesting a great bar, Watson rooftop bar. Loved it and very thankful for his suggestion. Breakfast was fabulous. Loved being able to pick my own ingredients for the omelet - super great idea❤️

Room was a rundown. Needs some TLC. Couch soiled. Tub rusted in spots. Furniture scratched up and well worn. Light on patio falling off wall. Only one trash can in entire room. There was no "do not disturb" sign to hang on the door and housekeeping knocked and started to come in before 9 am. Luckily we had door hinge on.

Rooms are perfect, spacious…the rooms fit our entire 6 person (2 adults, 3 kids) family. The location is perfect for us….walking distance to the Riverwalk but not ‘on’ the Riverwalk ‘strip’ so we can get away from the (sometimes chaotic) riverwalk when needed. The lobby and breakfast area are well-lit and airy.

Staff is ok. They smile but you can tell it is a task for them to do so. The pool could be better BUT my kids still had a great time. The breakfast is free(BONUS) but uber crowded so may not find a spot to eat. We just go back to our room and enjoy breakfast there.

Love the complementary drinks, I don't know why they started charging after the first 2 this time. I really enjoyed our last time where there was no limit. That is the main reason we came back this year.

We asked for room services for all the days, had to request to get it room services on the 2nd day night to change our covers and it look like they only took one of the bed sheets, covers, blankets etc and reuse the other one for our second bed. No soaps since we arrived, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were less than halfway when we arrived we ran out by our 2 night since we showered twice a day a family of 5 no room services again after we requested them to change the covers that one time.

Location was great and room was nice.

Staff at check in was rude. The first person I spoke with couldn’t care less that we were there and we were there and hour after check in was allowed but room was still not ready. The lady I started with just told me “find a place to sit and wait”. She was on her phone and that was the most important thing. When our room was ready, a very nice man greeted me and apologized for the inconvenience. He kept me from complaining since he was understanding and polite. First girl was terrible.

The breakfast was awesome, it was buffet style, omelets made to order, extremely large buffet. Evening daily cocktails or reception was as well.

Price of parking was $39 per day. Little higher than lot across street or around area.

Staff was soooo nice! From front desk to Cafe area they were just so friendly. I loved the proximity to Riverwalk. The breakfast was great. The lobby was beautiful.

The sheets need to fit the bed!!! It was our only and biggest complaint. Every night we wrestled with keeping the sheet from slipping g off the mattress. We woke during the night because we were caught in the sheet that was waaaaaaay too small for the mattress and we had to wrangle it back on. You can do better.

great location and very nice suite

valet service poor. pulled up and 2 valets standing there talking. I had to get my ticket. valet not offer to help with bags. on Sunday when requesting car to be brought out and I called and called. finalize called from desk and said “ you have to drop off ticket downstairs because too busy on sundays to take calls. front desk not offer to take ticket number to give to valet. very unprofessional and if that busy on Sunday why not schedule appropriately.
