Estancia del Norte San Antonio, A Tapestry Hotel by Hilton

The room was a nice average size for a double queen. The room has backdoor access to an outside walkway that guests can walk the perimeter of the floor you are on. It was surprisingly quiet since traffic can walk right by your room door from outside. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There is onsite parking without an additional fee which is great considering many stays prior have been on the Riverwalk where parking costs nearly as much as the hotel stay when paying by day. I get that is part of the convenience to being in the heart of major touristy places but staying a little further away to avoid parking costs is worth it to me.

The bathroom tub is a bit small. It's what you'd expect in an older/standard home. The closet space was ok but if you like to hang clothing, it might be a bit too small. There is no microwave in the room but there was a small fridge that would hold several drinks and snacks/leftovers.

I like the Spanish style of the hotel.

The bathroom definitely needed a hard scrubbing it looked like it only gets wiped down instead of scrubbed. Cleaning service did not leave us clean towels when I called the front desk I was told someone would bring it up in 20 minutes but they never came. We decided to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant on Saturday morning and my omelette had so much salt it became inedible. I took one bite and my ankle swelled up from the sodium.

The Estancia del Norte was easy to find, just off NE loop 410 and McCullough. it was quiet, and most of our destinations were just a few minutes away. we had a courtyard view from our room, access to the veranda. the pool area was amazing with lots of patio tables and lighting for the evening. the door to veranda was hard to open we called front desk and were told to just pull a little harder, due to fresh paint and high humidity during our stay door was sticking. Beds were comfy, lots of pillows. Nice big screen. bathroom was very spacious. soft water made a nice difference when showering. Lobby area was very spacious. they had fruit infused water during the day. coffee in the morning. full bar, if you drink. restaurant was closed, but you could order at the bar. not sure about room service. gift shop $$$$

some guests acted out the night before we arrived, they dropped glass from upper floors to the pool area and it was closed for clean-up. they did offer to shuttle us to another property for a swim.

Absolutely loved this hotel! It was very beautifully furnished and clean and cozy. The whole place, including the rooms had San Antonio/SouthWest vibes. We had a room overlooking the internal courtyard with the pool, which was beautiful. The room and bathroom had all the standard amenities you'd expect, and was very clean (which I have high standards of). The staff we're very friendly. Parking and check-in were a breeze. I love that they have self-serve bellman's carts available to bring your luggage in and out easily. The bar-restaurant in the lobby area was great! Had breakfast there every day during our stay. The food was really good. Sure, it wasn't a free breakfast, but it was real food (not just cheap pastries and instant stuff you'd get at a similar hotel/motel with breakfast included). I'd prefer to pay for my real breakfast than have a free low-quality breakfast any day. The quality you get at this hotel is very well worth the price (which I was surprised wasn't more expensive actually). It feels more expensive, and you feel good that you payed a bargain price for such quality. Definitely staying here again next time I'm in San Antonio!

Everything was great!

Breakfast was complimentary and was delicious. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Beds were comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. Love the piped in music and the decor was very tasteful. We felt like we were in Mexico on a vacation!

Newly opened so they were still working out the kinks. The service elevator was the only one operating during our stay, so we used the stairs mostly. And the ice machine was not working so filled tumblers and water jugs through the bartender.

Breakfast was delicious, the restaurant staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is beautiful, the front desk staff were very kind and welcoming!

Maid service was inconsistent- one day only 1 of our beds was made. We did not get any shampoo, body wash or conditioner until the 4th day of our stay. I had to call the front desk 2 days to get toilet paper and bath towels.

The hotel was great. It was beautiful and well appointed. We had to pay for breakfast each morning but it was very good and substantial. The room that we were given was all the way at the end of the hall in a nook and although there was a big wedding being held at the hotel one night, we we not disturbed at all. The only issue that I had with the place was that the hallways on our floor needed vacuuming badly. Although there was a patterned carpet on the floor, the debris on the carpet was obvious. Not a huge issue, but with the rest of the hotel looking so well-kept, I found it a bit odd.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. They offer robes and larger towels. We had a room with a beautiful courtyard view. The hotel has a beautiful atmosphere. The courtyard has a fire pit and the swimming pool is lit up at night. Beautiful artwork and fountains. We felt very safe at this hotel. The front of the parking lot was gated. It is very close to the airport and restaurants. It is a beautiful place to stay. The front desk was overall very helpful and sent up more towels, etc as soon as requested.

Our door to the court yard would not open with our key. I believe the battery had went dead so you had to have someone with you in the room or go around to enter from there. I reported it to the front desk but they hadn't had time to fix it before we left. They are doing renovations on the restaurant so it wasn't really a good option for us this visit. The bathroom has a sliding barn type of door that doesn't lock.

The location of the hotel was great! Everything was no more than a 15 minute drive! I especially loved that they upgraded my room when I mentioned that we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday! It always smelled clean when you walked into the hotel lobby and the room was very clean and well kept! Staff was so helpful and courteous!

The only thing I did not like was the breakfast. It was pretty bland and the only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10. I know they were making renovations to the restaurant and I hope it includes the food. Not worth the extra money to include it with your booking. I probably will not add the breakfast option the next time I stay.

I though the public areas of the hotel were very nice, including the ballrooms, the bar, and the courtyard.

I thought the glass doors in my room were very dirty. Also, the table and chairs blocked the double doors in my room therefore could not open the doors nor able to enjoy the courtyard view. There was also a fire drill during my stay due to a Quincenera lighting fireworks? Also the breakfast took a very long time (maybe short staff).
