Wingate by Wyndham (Lexington, VA)

The beds were comfortable enough. Room was nice. The hotel was in a great central location, close to places on our itinerary, gas, highway, and other conveniences (Walmart/Food/Pharmacy). There is a Ruby Tuesday right beside the hotel. The pool area was nice and there was a small gym (I didn't use, but someone else was).

The breakfast was disappointing. Went for breakfast around 7:30 and there were no scrambled eggs and the cereal choices were minimal (3). Then, I went to make tea for my son and myself and there was only one tea bag (had to use it for his and mine). We went somewhere else for breakfast. Having a young child, the whole point of choosing this hotel was so we wouldn't have to make an extra stop for breakfast. The walls/floors are also very thin and we could hear our loud neighbor most of the night.

Great price and location. Immediate access to restaurants, gas stations, the highway, and both universities in Lexington. Rooms were so spacious that it was easy to fit in a roll-away. Breakfast included something hot, and the pool area was great.

The only reason I didn't give this property a "10" rating was because neither the rollaway nor enough towels for my family were already in the room.

The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, The hotel was easy access from major roadways. We were traveling south on I 95 and found it easy to get off and on. There was a Ruby Tuesday restaurant right next door with wonderful staff and good food.

The young man at the front desk did not greet us. he was on the phone with an apparent personal conversation and just pushed papers at us across the counter after we were waiting for several minutes to check in. He also mumbled and we had to ask more than once for him to repeat himself when he finally gave us our room number. We passed him several more times when exiting and entering the hotel to go to dinner, and he was always on the phone. Just a warning that this hotel is on a major road way and there are constant traffic noices if you are a light sleeper. Maybe request a room on the back side of the hotel.

The location was good. The staff was friendly and professional.

The pool and hot tub were closed. Upon arrival I was forced to sign a sheet stating I understood the pool was closed and still agreed to pay the full rate. It's too late at arrival to locate another hotel so I signed. When I arrived in the room, the shampoo and conditioner little bottles were open and half used.

We loved how clean it was and how comfortable the beds were. The location was in a great proximity to everything that we wanted to visit.

The continental breakfast could have had a little more on it. The pool was not able to be used. In speaking to the lady at the front desk, she explained the problem and was very apologetic. But while I was there I did not see anyone trying to fix the problem.

This is the best hotel we've found when visiting the Virginia Horse Center. Its convenient, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious, and there is daily room cleaning. Plus the rates are more reasonable that some other nearby hotels, several of which are is desperate need of an update!

The room we were originally offered did not latch at the door, we had to pack all of our items up and go downstairs just to get a new room and go back up. Not the hotels fault they didn’t know, and they were very helpful and friendly to get us a new room. Just check the doors latch before you unpack haha

Room was very clean. Bed was great. Location terrific. Very nice early 30's short hair man on cleaning staff who was working in lobby was very friendly. Cool guy!

Staff who checked us in was male, late 20s, short black hair was rude to my son, his girlfriend and me. Literally the only rude front desk staff in the entire Lexington area. Maybe it's because he works out in the very strange (sparse) hotel gym?

The room was clean! The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were appropriately sized for the bed and it was close to the highway.

The television was decent size and definitely an HD TV but the channels were all SD which made the screen blurry and difficult to watch. So not so much a dislike just something we thought of that could be changed.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The breakfast was lacking. It's not expensive or hard to put out a memorable breakfast for your guests and that was our biggest complaint! No waffles or muffins or any good quick options for the kids, and no fruit.
