Best Western Plus Newport News

I liked when you walked in you saw the upgrades. The level of care in painting and redecorating the breakfast area. It had 24 hour water and coffee station. The hallways and room had bright colored paint in blue, yellow and burnt orange. The beds were incredibly soft and the pillows felt like heaven.

I did not like the sofa and accent chair were both very stained and filthy. Each needed either a serious re upholstery or deep cleaning. The desk and chair in the room- the chair arm wrest were unraveling. The bathroom had a hole in wall. Perhaps where the shelving had fallen and they just moved into a new location and never patched the hole. It was hard to tell where the jot and cold water was in the tub because the face of the dial was not secure. I actually thought there was no hot water and had management come to the room. I didn't realizebit was a dog friendly hotel and was nervous seeing dogs ( on leash). That's my fault

Staff was pleasant, breakfast was excellent one of the best we every had at a motel

No chais to st and no table to eat. Was told because it had three beds state inspection wouldn’t let them put any chairs in the room. Other and that the room was great. We didn’t have a iron in the room one was delivered right away same with towels there was six of us had towels for four we called for more we got them right away.

I enjoy the surrounding area of the hotel which is why we stayed at this hotel again. Having our room close to the entrance of the hotel and close to the pool area was great accommodation.

My only issue with our stay this time around was the lack of food variety when it came to the free breakfast. Our room also had a weird smell throughout the stay and the shower head/faucet was a bit faulty.

Ice machine wasn't working on 2nd floor and some the socket wasn't working for the iron. The handle on my toilet was broke but they fixed it right away. I will be visiting again when I am Newport News Virginia

The room had more than I expected. 2 beds, a couch, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. the beds were comfortable we slept well. My 7 year old had plenty of space to run around, There's also a table to work or eat on with a nice swivel chair. The breakfast was a nice grab and go due to the virus I'm sure there would have been more choices of hot food which is understandable. Nice and clean and the bathroom set up was nice because the sink was was outside the bathroom with a nice big mirror and a small vanity mirror perfect for putting on makeup. this way the mirrors wont get fogged up from shower steam.

The room was very clean and they kept it that way. The cleaning staff were very nice. It was relatively quiet all the time and no disturbing odors in the room or hallway. The parking lot was clean and easy to park in.

The smoking outside around the beautiful fountain and the seats there. If a non-smoker wanted to enjoy the fountain, you would have to wait until no smokers were there and then you would still smell smoke.

I really like the staff they were very friendly I think management needs to step it up a bit. I know that this facility is dog friendly but I stepped in poop 2 times and my son stepped in poop once. They really need to put up sings directing ppl where the dog area is. Dogs were just pooping everywhere and anywhere. My room had no hot water for a while finally it came. My toilet keep clogging I had to plunge it every time I used it. I love the 24 hour coffee and the staff.

Dog poop everywhere stepped in it 2 times my son stepped in it once. Beds not too comfortable. Cleaning can be much better.

The room was perfect. VERY clean! The bed was incredibly comfortable. It was a WELL NEEDED good night's sleep! :) The staff was SO helpful in meeting my specific needs. The breakfast was SO GOOD...lots of choices! I was VERY pleased with my stay here...and will plan to stay here again when I'm in the area.

Breakfast was typical pandemic fare. It was fine.

Our particular room had the toilet way too close to the wall...made for uncomfortable seating!!! Also the fire alarm went off in the morning and the attendant just put in a code to stop it and it went off 3 more times before she checked it out on the 3rd floor. Apparently the alarm is too close. To the hot shower and the steam set it off.

I requested a quiet 3rd floor corner room away from traffic noise and they gave me exactly that. The room was clean and comfortable.

The hot water in the shower was intermittently going from hot to cold for about 5 minutes but then worked fine after that.
