Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rocky Mount Smith Mountain Lake, an IHG Hotel

Great breakfast! Great room. Staff was excellent! Close to the Harvester Performance Center for a night of live music during our stay with Candlebox Unplugged! Convenient location!

Our room keys worked the first time but all failed on the second try. Same thing happened with the new/fixed keys we received from the front desk. It happened a few more times before we were ready for bed, but they did eventually work properly. Some in our party wanted to use the pool after the concert, but it has already closed. Maybe adults could swim at their own risk after 11pm in the future?

The hotel was clean and comfortable. First time in a long time we have stayed at a hotel and the room was cleaned for a 2 night stay. Breakfast was excellent, so much variety, well stocked, something to eat for everyone. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was nice to see various departments well staffed!

I have no negatives to share

I love the executive room with the jacuzzi tub. It's a wonderful way to relax and unwind. We try to stay here a couple of times in the cooler months.

The noise from the room above us. There was a baby upstairs above us running and jumping for hours until about 9pm but started up again around 5am. I love children and the child was just having fun but it was very loud, sounded like a elephant stomping.

I like for the most part everything

I didn't like there were blinds but no curtains so when the sun came up it work you up but it wasn't too bad, but I also left early in the morning both days so I didn't get the full effect of the sun in my face but I'm sure it would've been

Large room. Comfortable bed. Close to lots of food options. Only 30 minutes to Smith Mountain Lake. Clean. Good breakfast.

Some staff. One front desk person was helpful. One seemed bothered and had questionable people visiting her. But other front desk person was professional. Housekeeping staff were very friendly.

The place was wonderful. The food due to Covid, was less, but they had a person behind a counter who had warm omlettes, sausage and cinnamon rolls if you wanted in addition to some boxes of cereal, yogurt, muffins and fruit on the grab and go table. She was very helpful and even made toast and bagels if you asked!

The cleaning staff did not wear masks. We were there for a few days and I saw a few different cleaning staff and none wore masks. I even saw one coughing over her cart which contained towels and linens on our last morning there.

Very nice hotel. We have stayed several times and have always liked it. The housekeeper did a good job. The staff was nice. I will be going back. Really do like it and it is easy access to restaurants and local stores, it's right in town.

I did like that they had you reserve the pool in 1-hour increments per room but 10 minutes into our hour a group of 4 people (who were drinking) came into the area without masks on and just jumped right in the pool with us. So we just left. I would like if maybe other cards won't work the area if it is supposed to be reserved and you do have to use the room keys to access the indoor pool.

We stayed for a small Honeymoon and it was awesome. Management very approachable always checking on how we were. Cleaning crew excellent. Good breakfast. Very clean smelled good through out the whole hotel. Had new employees but count tell. Seemed like they had been there gor awhile. Super professional and friendly.

There is nothing I didn't like

located close to our family. staff extremely friendly.

our shower was out dated. cracks in floor that looked like they had been glued to stop leaking and cover up cracks. I wore white socks every day on floor and they were black on bottom by the time I went to bed. rugs could use a good shampoo.

The facility was clean and well maintained. The food presentation was very good.

Security. One young Lady on duty to handle the entire facility was not enough. She did an Outstanding job!!
