Holiday Inn Express Spokane-Downtown

This was the most excellent facility we have stayed at. We were surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the extra goodies of the M-W Manager's Special where we were offered a complementary salad, drink, and milk and cookies for dessert. How great is that? I was excited that a reflexologist was available in the evenings. What a pleasant experience to have my feet massaged after a long day of walking! The location is superb. We walked to the river, downtown, and to a great pub for dinner and a beer. The park is just across the street and is beautiful, clean and feels totally safe. We easily drove around to explore the city. Compared to other cities its size, Spokane is clean, quiet, and not at all crowded. Absolutely loved our getaway!

The breakfast and accommodations at the hotel were wonderful! The cookies and milk in the evenings was a kind treat and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our only frustrations were that we had to take a taxi from the airport to get to the hotel (which ended up costing us $60), since there's no shuttle service and the workout space/gym was very small- not enough space for everyone who wanted to use it.

We stayed at this hotel for a concert. It was so convenient to the Spokane Arena that we were able to walk to dinner and to the arena with no problem. There is free parking at the hotel, so that is a bonus. Room was clean and fresh, and it was all a great experience. Breakfast was great.

They ran out of some breakfast items at the end, and the pancake machine was broken, but all in all a good experience.

Staff was exceptional - friendly, helpful, and it felt like they were genuinely happy to see us. The small dinner (only offered MTW) was a welcome surprise. Joliet (I think that was her name) in the dinner & breakfast room was a joy to interact with and made us smile each time we saw her. Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. We walked to downtown over the river from the hotel. If we come back to Spokane, we will definitely stay here again.

No negatives

Awesome staff and very good location, walking distance to the downtown. We liked the style of a hotel, like a castle on the hill. Complimentary breakfast with good selection of meals. They also have complimentary snacks for dinner - buns with ham and cheese, and some cookies too. This really cheered us up as it was a great refrehsment after a long drive. A lot of parking space.

Our reception at this place was amazing. We felt welcomed and Sandra at front desk was a breadth of fresh air in her friendliness and attention to our needs.

The property is lovely, I enjoyed the breakfast and the cookies, and it was a great location! Very cool building.

There was quite a bit of noise so we didn't get an amazing night sleep. I think that might have just been a function of it being an accessible room and close to the front so it had a lot of people going by.

Location was great. Large, clean room with patio which made it super easy to take out dog out to potty. M-W they offer a complimentary dinner and drinks along side the daily complimentary breakfast.

The employee working that day was very friendly and professional. I like the little touches that goe a long way. The only thing I would suggest is selling beer or wine in the snack bar area since there is no bar. You have a great patio, clean hotel, and kind staff.

That we couldn't purchase wine or beer in the snack area. Not a deal breaker though.
