Montvale Hotel

It was a pleasant surprise, more of a retro bed and breakfast feel in the heart of Spokane. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. People sat in the larger salon areas and chatted. The basement has a gem of a restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they quickly answered questions or provided information and direction. Best of all, they allow pets!

They offer onsite parking. We arrived later in the evening and most of the spaces were taken. The spaces were narrow, or I was tired from driving which made the parking a bit tighter than I prefer.

I like so many things about The Montvale, which is why this is our third stay. I like the small size and how welcoming and easy it is to check in. I like the old staircase and not needing to rely on the elevator. I like the amazing downtown location and the historic interior and exterior of the building. I especially love the tall ceilings and architectural details, the vintage paint colors, the swan and pomegranate painting in the lobby, and the comfortable bed and quality sheets. But my favorite thing about The Montvale is the atrium lounge and tea service. I could sit there all day. The lavender mint tea is delicious.

Our presidential suite was a large size which was perfect for our family of four. A pack n play was provided. The room was clean upon arrival and ready for early check in. The location was easily walkable to all the landmarks we wanted to visit. We would stay here again.

Across from Theater and right in the middle of downtown. Beautiful room and sitting areas. I appreciated having parking.

This Art Deco hotel is charming, well kept and very fun. Due to Covid, the restaurant and bar were not functioning, but there was a downstairs bar where you could get wine or cocktails. The location makes finding a restaurant easy, and the desk recommended an excellent restaurant for us.

As always, more electrical outlets for computers, phones iPads would be welcome, but we managed with those that are in the room. I guess there are never enough, with two people and several devices!

Parking was a bit of a mess

The room was spacious, well lit, and laid out, with a small fridge, microwave, large closet, chest of drawers, and a reading chair and small table. The beds were very comfortable. And the bathroom was big and well stocked. The 2nd floor had a large atrium/lounge area that looked beautiful and comfortable, with plenty of chairs and couches to socialize out of your room.

The walls between our room and next door was thin enough that we could hear normal conversation, and their 3:30 am alarm. The big windows were beautiful and covered be very tasteful and lovely wooden shades. However the shades weren't all that great at blocking the light from the parking lot. It wasn't horrible, but if you need a dark room to sleep, bring an eye mask.

This was one of the absolute best hotel experiences I've had to date. To start, it was the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. (For the the first time I didn't even find a single hair anywhere in the bathroom, and everything in the room was cleaned thoroughly after the previous guest). The staff was wonderful, and very helpful. The location was great - restaurants (there was even a fantastic eatery right in the basement of the hotel), bars, local breweries, coffee shops, all within blocks. The parking is super convenient and safe (as is the entire neighborhood apparently). The building is historic, with loads of charm, as one can imagine, and is appropriately and beautifully appointed. I will have to return to Spokane just to go back to this hotel.

Spacious room, very clean, comfortable beds, In room refrigerator, Coffee and pastry bar in the morning. Did appreciate loading zone in front of the hotel.

Thermostat in room did not work – pre-set at 68°, which is too cold for us. Wish there had been Staff available to help with the luggage. Need a tray or box to carry coffee and tea back to the room. Need a guide in the room so we know numbers for various TV channels.

A nicely renovated "Historic" property in the SW side of downtown Spokane. My room was comfortable and spacious looking out onto downtown. An easy stroll to any of the downtown attractions, with restaurants, breweries, and shopping close at hand. I was only in town for 1 night but the Montvale Hotel clicked all the boxes I was looking for. Highly recommended and I will stay again on my next trip to town.
