Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madison, an IHG Hotel

The shades in the room we got initially were broken(electric and the darkness shade would not roll down) they moved us to a different room where the electric shades were also broken but darkness shade was down enabling us a better sleep.I suspect the majority of the shades like them are of poor manufacture quality and also broken.

I asked, because I have a disabled son who uses a walker with much pain, for a room with minimal distance(walking pains him greatly)from the entrance. They gave us a lovely HC room that was almost to the end of the hall from the elevators.

very clean modern travel supports in room (key table, usb ports, sliding door to separate bathroom and kitchen area from bed, areas for bags, etc on table tops, fridge/microwave, blackout curtain)

room right by elevator and pool was noisy, water pressure in shower was very low for a brand new hotel, tv channels weren’t easy to figure out- no guide that we could find at least, had to click through every channel.

There was a lift for the pool so our daughter who has spina bifida was able to enjoy the pool as well. Ressie was on duty when we arrived and checked in and called maintenance, who had just left, to ensure we had batteries in the lift during our stay. Every morning we were lucky enough to see Ressie at the front desk and she was every bit the kindest, most helpful staff we could ever ask for. I have had many great hotel stays but, I have honestly never appreciated and enjoyed a hotel staff member quite as much as we enjoyed and appreciated Ressie. In addition to this, after our stay was over I came across an issue with my card having been charged twice and Manager, Sam Sagissor was exceptionally kind and helpful in resolving this matter with my credit card company. This specific hotel has really found some exceptional people that have made it stand out as an absolutely amazing place to stay! It was very nicely decorated and the fitness room was the best I have seen to-date as well but, the STAFF is what made it stand out. I will definitely look forward to staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madison on High Cross Blvd every time I visit Madison, WI.

You are in the heart of Strip Mallistan but plentiful dining options and there is a Goodwill nearby. 15 minutes to the Capital if there isn't a ton of traffic

I Have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the USA.This is in my top 5 best over all hotels. Very clean probably the cleanest,and very convenient to everything in Madison.

A clean and good location. The bed was very comfortable and I was able to sleep very well. Breakfast was descent.

Close to the highway so you can at times hear motors and big trucks passing by.

The breakfast was good. We like more low carb/low sugar options. Some plant based forms of protein (not animal) would also be great. The cleanliness and support of staff was great. We also liked the outside terrace option for warmer weather.

The price was a bit high.

Loved the beds and pillows - most comfortable we have ever been on. We loved the hot breakfast - very good. Loved having Kerig machines in the rooms.

Coffee was just okay that was in the breakfast area.

The information I had on booking.com wasn't transferred to the hotel. I booked a room with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. That was not relayed to the hotel but they were kind enough to switch the rooms for us
