Abode Tuggeranong

The Abode had excellent location, a walk away from the local mall which had access to everything Big W, Woolworth and Food court. I also loved the fact that the appartment was a walk away from Lake Tuggeranong and Leisure centre and Basketball court. The room was a good size and very spacious and clean.

Advertised as having streaming services available but the TVs internet kept wouldn't connect to internet and the advertised streaming services apps were not updated and could not be updated due to Internet dropping out all the time. Could not screen share from our phones for the same reason. Also having a big family apartment should come with a decent sized television.

A good-sized and well-equipped apartment. Incredibly close to a great variety of international eat-in and take-away restaurants. Good access to other parts of south Canberra.

The only negative was FINDING HOW TO GET INTO THE PLACE!! We ended up having to find a park, and ring the desk. Then in a side street we found the correct roller-door (Yes!) and entered an incredibly complex parking station with minimal instructions. (I think Abode needs to write a very detailed instruction sheet, with ANNOTATED MAPS AND PHOTOS, and put it on line so people can have it with them when they arrive.

It was very clean with features that went above my expectations for the price

The reception said on the website and on the door it closed at 6pm and that after that you’d be told how to check in differently. I got there about 5:35 to find the door locked. The receptionist was still there and opened the door then pointed me to the after hours check in point, telling me she had sent a text with the details. I told her I thought check in was until 6pm like it said on the doors and website, she responded with she had banking (or something similar) to do and walked away without telling me where the parking was and I couldn’t see it from outside the building so I ended up parking across the road.

The bed was very comfortable. Loved having cooking facilities and alot of space. Felt at home. I particularly loved the smell of the corridors and would love to know what the scent was used in the automatic dispensers so I can use it at home. Will definitely be back again

The dishwasher was still dirty and the walls were quiet dirty also in hall area. I only noticed this as I'm a cleaner myself. Otherwise, everything was great. Maybe a salad bowl?

Spacious, well designed space

No sheets for fold out sofa. When pulled out sofa bed , it was apparent it had not been vacuumed underneath. We stayed 3 nights but not provided with fresh towels. We were only given two coffee pods for our stay and scant toiletries. It was unclear what parking spots were allocated for Abode. I received a note threatening to tow my car away but I thought it was an Abode designated spot.

Loved how clean the unit was, thankyou to the housekeeping. Bed was super comfy, WiFi good.

We needed a self cater unit, but the unit we stayed in room 115 only had 1 pot to cook with and no Friday either which made it difficult to cater for ourselves. The toilet paper was so thin, when you use it on your personals, it disintegrates and leaves bits of paper there. Spend a little more so this doesn't happen. 3rd thing, not a biggie but the courtyard off our unit looked like a prison exercise yard, maybe a plant or 2 could soften it down.

The location was excellent. The accommodation was clean and comfortably appointed. One member of staff (male) was excellent, responded quickly and provided thoughtful and creative solutions. The cleaning staff were quiet and efficient.

The bedroom lacked airflow which made me quite uncomfortable for sleep. Two members of staff (both female and working at the front counter) lacked interest/enthusiasm. Their responses indicated that the issues raised were not their problem (eg the washing machine smelt very bad so could not be used). I was told that there was nothing that could be done - but the male staff member addressed the problem within half an hour.

Room was really clean and modern. My wife was in Canberra Hospital and this was a good location not too far away so I could visit her.

I originally booked via booking.com for $208 for one night. When I needed to stay an extra night I asked the staff member at reception and he wanted to charge me $248 ( discount included) He said if I wanted to pay $208 I needed to go back and do it via booking.com which I did. Also on the 2nd night that I did stay the garage would not open for me to securely park my car under the building and there was no one at reception to assist.

Nice room, comfortable, had everything I needed.

The parking wasn't explained well, when I called the front desk the number routes to a call centre, when the transferring me the front desk lady said it was her first day and told me there is a swipe to exit, but the was no swipe, it's a sensor exit you just have ti drive up really close. The front desk is only staffed until 6pm.

The apartment was very clean and had everything we could possibly need. All kitchen appliances, utensils and crockery were provided so we could make meals ourselves. There is a great shopping centre just next door and the street is full of restaurants of all different cuisines. We ate out every night. We travelled into Canberra city everyday and it is only a 20 minute trip. Fantastic position. Will be back.

The carpark was a little confusing and the reception person was hard to understand and very abrupt. We did not have a smart TV and were unable to use the streaming service but we had unlimited WiFi.
