Hotel Royal William, Ascend Hotel Collection

Desk clerk moved very slowly through check-in process, but was pleasant and did the job. He did tell us that the desk clerk coming on the next morning had years of experience if we had any questions. And that second desk clerk was very good - questions, bus passes. Breakfast staff person was wonderful. helpful and nice person. Very nice room and bed, good window darkening, fridge, big bathroom.

On second evening, room with couch smelled slightly musty or maybe cigarettes. Unpleasant and a little disconcerting that our room suddenly smelled. Only two bag carts. Not enough when people are checking out. Found that price was higher than some in Old Quebec. I had booked weeks ago, but prices had changed since. Not the hotel's fault I guess.

The location was great....manageable on foot to the old part of the city. However, 2 streets over from the hotel was a funky neighbourhood in itself! The beds were super comfy. We were delighted with the price and subsequent upgrade considering the city was bustling with various events. There is really nothing negative I can say about the hotel and its staff.

Unfortunately, there was construction right outside the hotel making loading in and out quite difficult. There is parking offered directly across the street, but shlepping our luggage back and forth with busy traffic was not ideal.

Good location right behind a very exciting street. Lots of nice shops, restaurants, and bars. About a 20 minutes walk to the city Center. Great staff, beautiful, and humongous rooms.

The walk to the old city is a little strenuous and uphill, not the hotel’s fault, just something you should know.

This was my first trip of Quebec city. As I have a large family member I always reserve large 2 rooms with a small kitchen. Due to covid kitchen which has microwave and sink is very useful. This was the just hotel I’ve ever found in Quebec City. The hotel location was good and we could walk to the main city anytime without trouble. Behind the hotel there were lots of pubs and restaurants to enjoy. The hotel seems renovated and the bed mattress condition and the room furniture, bathroom, microwave, refrigerator everything was clean. There were useful ceramic plates and cutlery with wine glass and coffee machine Lavazza. We enjoyed bath tub but unfortunately only in one room. The amenity was very nice. The hotel is very quiet. The hotel concierge spoke French and not familiar with English but she tried to explain and translate and she never lose her smile. All staffs were kind and I want to thank especially to Francis. He tried hard to solve the problem I met. Thank you very much!

The room I received was not I booked at the Booking.com site. The room name and the photos should be uploaded correctly with more details. The parking was difficult. Parking lot was not in the same building. It was another building shared, just opposite side of the building from the main entrance of this hotel. Airconditioner was working well but at about 1.7 celcius difference (to get lower or higher). For example when the room temperature is 24 degrees and even I set the temperature lower than 24 degrees even in 23.5 it didn’t work. I have to set more lower. This was very different with other hotels. But I still wish to stay there again when I visit Quebec City again in the future!

Was quite surprised by the room! The queens/kings bedroom had a small kitchen area. The ceiling was high and although right next to a busy street, it was pretty quiet! Close to the train station within walkable distance (15-20 min). I did all the tourism on foot to Old Quebec and some museums. Enough plugs for me to charge tons of electronic devices.

The room was excellent. Large and quiet Easy access to room. . Modern. Close to bus route

Lobby was really small. Did not try the breakfast. Seems underwhelming.

the staff was amazing, Louise went above and beyond at all times! she is the sweetest lady and an asset to your hotel. Very good Location in st-roch.

our last morning a “false door” in the bathroom vanity fell in my foot out of nowhere and i was truly hurt, when I told the staff (it was lizette) she didn’t offer any discount or anything. “im sorry” just didnt cut it for me, As of now I have a black and vlue painful foot and limping.

The guy who helped us check in was very nice. He went above and beyond! When I had a problem when i ordered take out (I don't speak French) he spoke to the delivery guy for me! It was so so helpful! Also the room was very comfortable and clean and I loved the in room espresso machine!!

Hidden modern gem in the busy downtown. Room is really quiet and clean with access to great restaurants and a short 20m walk to downtown center.

Great stay overall, nice room, staff was very attentive to my needs - thank you Louise Roy for preparing the surprise for my spouse, it was beautiful and she loved it :)

It would've been perfect to have some water bottles in the room - we were very thirsty and had to go out to a store to get water.
