Hôtel Palace Royal

Great location, nice hotel but a little worn out. Pool looked fabulous! Bell Station was excellent. The gentleman that helped us is definitely an asset to this hotel. The location is steps from a gate into the old city... we loved that part of the hotel the most.

No one cleaned the room in the 5 days we were there. I did receive several notices that they were short staffed before our stay.Towels were dropped off while we were out the day before we left. The room was large with great windows but a bit dated and worn down.

This hotel is close to everything you would want to see in Quebec City. We took the Hop- On / Hop- Off tour bus and the hotel stop was located just across the street from the hotel. Very Convenient. Parking was located under the hotel building. We left our car there the entire 5 days. A taxi terminal was located behind the building across the street. Further down Rue St. Jean , the street was blocked off every day as this was the iconic street of restaurants. The people staffing the front desk were very helpful all of the time.

The beds were only changed once during our stay. The bathroom was cleaned twice during our stay of 5 days.

The location was fantastic. Walk to Old Quebec, could see Saint John’s Gate from our room.walk to Citadel(up a hill though!), walk to Parliament. Fantastic restaurants were in walking distance. A stop on the hop on hop off bus is next to hotel. Beautiful hotel. Rooms were decent size for our family if 6. Bartender at the hotel bar was fantastic!

Pool was very nice however there was not much seating & floor was extremely slippery. Hot tub was nice but way too many unsupervised children(under10) jumping in and out of hot tub. Not much relaxing going on there. Breakfast was overpriced for what you got. So many more fantastic places to eat just out your door.

What did I like? Everything! I've travelled both within Canada and abroad and had the pleasure of many different accommodations. The Palace Royal is beautifully appointed. We stayed in a one-bedroom King suite and feel we were in the lap of luxury. The layout of the suite was exemplary, spacious. Beautiful wood floors (thankfully no carpeting trafficked by hundreds of others), a private dressing area, private bathroom, secretary desk/workspace, and a lovely separate seating area with couch, tv, and lazy-boy type chair. The bed was on a raised platform and had a tv mounted on wall ahead. The balcony offered up ample space with a little bistro table and chairs overlooking the pool, hot tub etc. This hotel is on my top 10 of all I have stayed at through my travels - has style and personality. Very well laid out, clean, beautiful appointments in the room. Lobby, halls, reception - all lovely. Location 10/10. Looks new.

There's sincerely nothing that we lacked for or that this hotel could improve on.

This beautiful hotel was located mere meters from the Winter Carnival! We walked everywhere, old and new! It was perfect! The staff were kind, accommodating, attentive, and so very welcoming! The room was spotless, and we had an incredible view of town. We booked the queen suite with a sofa, a Murphy bed, and an external view. It was spacious, like a mini apartment. The amenities were awesome, and there is even a little convenience store in the hotel, which had everything you needed or forgot! I HIGHLY recommend.

If you have a large vehicle like an SUV or truck, you'll be parking a couple blocks away. It wasn't a big issue once you learned the logistics, but initially it was a bit frustrating. Just be aware that their on-site, underground parking has height restrictions.

The free wifi was very slow and did not work at all at times. The staff knocked on our door every morning to offer room service when we had the “do not disturb” sign hanging on the door, as we had our 9 month old with us and wanted to be sure he was not woken up. The pool is beautiful as well as the balcony rooms, but the entire hotel smells like chlorine. The parking is very tight and the underground parking garage has poor ventilation, smelling very strongly of toxic fumes.

The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. My fiance and I went to Quebec City from September 1st - 6th and stayed in a queen room with a murphy bed. The room was nicely laid out and had a mini fridge and microwave which was extremely useful having that we stayed for 5 nights. The bed is also very comfortable which was a bonus for us because we tend to not have the best sleeps when staying in a hotel. While we didn't go swimming, there is a beautiful indoor tropical garden and swimming pool located in the central courtyard in the hotel. There is also a fitness facility that we did use - there are a few cardio equipment and some dumbbells so we were limited but we made it work and got most of our exercise from walking and exploring the beautiful city. We would most definitely stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it!

The location could not be more perfect! You can walk everywhere. The bus is right outside. The tourist hop on hop off bus also picks up outside. We didn't rent a car and didn't need one. The Murphy bed is very comfortable so if you can choose one that is great if you have extra people in your room. If you choose the interior you get a balcony over looking the pool and occasional live performances.

We could not control the temperature in the room, called maintenance, they also could not get thermostat to change. Room 808 Plug in bath tub did not seal to keep water in tub. Room and bathroom very clean, the sink tap was also loose. Room 808 One lamp on table in front of window had a broken switch, needs repair. Bed very comfortable, also liked that there was an iron and ironing board. Thank you

Location of Hotel was amazing, and the Parking is right below hotel. Staff was great even brought us drinks at the pool. If your looking to explore at night and a 2 minute walk to the historic center this is perfect. Front lobby staff A plus.

Pool closes at 10PM Would be good till 11ish just to sit in the hot tub after walking all day. 4 star Hotel breakfast was just on par with the holiday inn. The First room with Hot items needs help. The Second room with cold items was very well fitted with wide range of fruit and cheeses, juices and yogurts that was worth it and well suited with the hotels rating. Box eggs, Sausages, and chopped waffles not thing amazing to write home about.
