Ibis Berlin Hauptbahnhof

Clean and modern - this applies to the hotel itself, the room and breakfast/reception area. I shared a twin bed room with my daughter and it was perfect for our needs. Staff were friendly when we spoke with them. The room has towels and body wash for those who may be travelling light. Our room was facing the inner courtyard that belongs to a hotel at the rear of this Ibis, but there was no noise at all. Beds are comfortable, the shower is spacious enough and the water can be as hot as you like it! All entrances to the hotel (and the lift) are activated via your room key card, so it felt very secure. We had breakfast there and paid that morning. At first, I thought 15 euros per person was expensive, but if you work out the prices you'd pay to buy breakfast in the station, it's actually an OK price. There is the usual breakfast options - cooked food, continental (for us!) ham/cheese, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, and a waffle machine. Lots of tea/coffee options and the same for juice. The hotel is literally across 1 road from the central train station so location-wise, it is an excellent choice. I hope this helps you - I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly efficient check-in and check-out. Excellent location close to main train station and other transport links. Spacious quiet room with a sofa and desk. Bathroom was adequate although the frosted door isn't ideal for night time visits. Breakfast was tasty and the staff worked hard to clear up and keep the food stocked. Options included scrambled egg, bacon, falafel, vegetables, cheese, ham, cereals including Bircher muesli, bread/rolls, pastries, fruit (both diced and separate apples/oranges etc), yoghurt as well as juice and hot drinks. The main hotel door required the key card to enter at night, which was pleasing in terms of security.

Preference would be to have a hand towel in additional to the main towel each. No safe or hot drinks making facilities in the room.

The staff are absolutely outstanding! Really friendly and helpful, especially the nice, kind lady in the restaurant called Sandra. I liked the bedroom as well. Very clean, which is always very high on my list of expectations. And the breakfast was amazing! The location is very good. Very close to the main train station, and very easy if you just take the escalator about 20 metres to the left of the hotel (as you look at it). I didn’t find it on the way, but it just means crossing over the busy road and tram way otherwise. It’s very easy to get into the centre as well - the bus stop is right outside, and the 245 takes you to the Zoo.

The WiFi is a bit hit and miss. And I didn’t like other people banging their doors, but that isn’t the hotel’s fault!

I am editing this review because my Grandson's money that went missing has now been found. It was in a pocket of my grandson's bag. We apologize for reporting that the money had been left in the room and then we could not find it. We were sure it had been left on the desk. Today my grandson found the money in his bag. He had worked hard to earn this money for his trip. When we arrived he had traveled for nearly 30 hours from Victoria BC, Canada - no sleep and 9 hours time difference. So... We are sorry to give a poor review.

The room, service etc was all good.

Easily reachable via the train from the airport (bought 10 euro day pass for the journey from/to the airport). Central station is hardly 5 mins walk from the hotel. Many options for food close by, including the central train station with food court. Good walk around the neighborhood. Room was good for single person; may be a bit congested for 2 persons. I didn't try the breakfast as wasn't feeling well but there was a good selection of options including fruits, egg, waffles. Free hot water available next to reception for tea/coffee or you can order coffee. Staff was courteous. Overall a good experience for my one evening stay :)

No propoer cupboard in the room. There was a section with hangers but a cupboard would be better esp for a longer stay.

The hotel was in a perfect location for us. We used the train to transfer from the airport and back, and also to travel to Munich so this hotel was just ideal. We actually stayed here for 4 nights but in 2 stays with a trip in the middle! The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful indeed. Left luggage options were extremely helpful. Breakfast was also very nice too. The facilities around the hotel were excellent for us. The train station itself has a huge shopping mall so you can shop, eat and pick up essentials such as things from the chemist. As an aside, there is a fantastic burger restaurant under the hotel too! We ate here twice!

Excellent location right opposite the main station, with tram stops outside. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. The hotel was clean and the rooms were lovely and there was a secure left luggage area for guests. Breakfast was very good, self service with lots of choice and space to eat, over a good time period. All the food serving areas were covered with clear screens which you reached underneath to serve yourself through, using the serving utensils provided which was a good hygiene addition, so the hotel had made good provision against airborn germs . We would definitely stay here again.

Hard to find any fault as it was so good, but coffee/ tea making facility in the room would have been a nice addition. That said, there were hot and cold drink, and snack vending machines in reception. Also, from a point of hygiene, it would be good if staff on duty could request parents to serve their children rather than letting them go by themselves touching the various food items before choosing . But this is a general observation for many hotels and by no means a major problem here.

Despite being an Ibis, it offers superior comfort to the usual Ibis, probably because the building is quite new: the room is larger than usual, and the breakfast is much more extensive, with hot dishes (boiled and scrambled eggs and frikadelle ) and a wide variety of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals... The hotel is ideal for travelers by train: it is located three minutes on foot from the central station. Outside the door there are three tram lines, one of which goes directly to the center of Berlin.

There was a bit of noise at night, from loud music. But easy to solve with some earplugs.

Almost everything was perfect! Location - just across the Hauptbahnhof, which is very convenient for everybody coming to the city with the train from the airport. And from the hotel it is "walking distance" to some interesting things like Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden,.... . There is also an excellent net of public transport just some meters away from the hotel ( bus, tram, metro, train). Personal was very kind and helpful, and the room was really clean! Breakfast - very tasty and a lot of different food.

The size of the room was not exactly the best and there was no refrigerator in the room. I was also lacking one more towel in the bathroom (for hand and face).

Excellent location right across from the Central Station. Very comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was amazing well worth the 15 euros. Lived making my own waffles.

Most of the staff were helpful however some made me feel that it was an effort answering questions we had about the area. The outlook of the room was just of an unkept central area.
