It’s a beautiful hotel, rich with history which was a nice bonus. Restful bed. Lovely staff, beautifully decorated hotel and comfortable room. 11am check out. Walking distance to the Art gallery.
Food was expensive so I arrange my own. Loud gardening noise nearby started at 7am

Fantastic staff, beautiful building and gardens and it’s a great location if you enjoy walking to the attractions. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops and a grocery store (with alcohol) a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.
The room could do with a good cleaning - under the bed, top of fridge and window sills behind the shutters. The mattress needs to be turned over as it’s been slept on way too long.

We had breakfast one morning and and the tea, juice and coffee bar had completely run out. We were unclear about the ordering system as many other people that morning. The staff on the front desk were very helpful. Top marks to them !!!

It was very clean the staff are very friendly & helpful. The rooms are very spacious, bathroom is very large and the shower is very powerful. It has a coffee machine and a kettle, plenty of power points in the room including a double power point in the bed head to charge your phone. Large screen tv, ironing board & iron. The bed & pillows very comfortable large pillows we had 2 pillows each. Plenty of parking in 2 car parks with boom gates that open with your room key.
The cleaners didn’t really check what we had run out of in our room. Ran out of milk which they are supposed to replace, ran out of tissues as well. No big deal just annoying that I had to chase it up with reception. Also I was shocked that at checkout we got charged for using the car park $18 a day, the receptionist said it mentions it in their policy (but who reads the policy when booking a hotel). We didn’t eat at the hotel I thought it was expensive especially when they charge $24 for a cheese and ham toastie.

We love the Kurrajong, and never consider staying elsewhere whenever we are in Canberra! The history of the hotel, the old world elegance, the lovely gardens, the friendly staff, the tastefully decorated rooms, and the restaurant on site are some of the main factors that keep drawing us back 😊
I think we might have chosen a less expensive room than normal this time....and we noticed a few small things that weren't quite up to the standard we previously knew. The towels were small and quite scratchy and there was quite an unpleasant smell in the room that lingered across all 4 days of our stay. But despite this, we still enjoyed our time thoroughly.

The room was perfect, the restaurant and bar were comfortable and the food was good.
We had a small reunion group that drank, dined and spent a good amount of money - at 2155hrs the bar staff turned out the lights and had packed while we were still finishing our drinks for the evening. We weren’t told that the bar was closing and they were totally out of order tiring the lights out. I addressed the issue, and was told they close at 2200hrs, I reminded them that it wasn’t yet 2200hrs and that they should have given us notice and could have politely asked to finish up. I ordered more drinks (on principle) and the lights were left on for us to finish our evening at leisure.

Interconnecting room, really large and spacious. Well maintained and good quality products. Loved the smell of the soaps and lotions in the bathrooms. The free ticket to the old parliament for the Chifley walk was superb, absolutely magnificent guide and great to learn about Aussie politics
Parking was a rip off at $18 per day and it wasn't even undercover. Food was pricey at the hotel though the terrace was lovely we stayed for NYE and there was a party, the noise was quite loud, luckily we are deep sleepers but feel like we should've been warned or given notice of hte party. We might have even booked a table had we known.

Friendly staff, charming heritage vibe, larger than typical standard room, nice cold fridge, big bathroom, well maintained room and public areas, excellent quality TV
Smaller cushions on the room tub chairs as the ones uses are way too big. More serious however is the recent change to a new car parks gate control system in response to the expanded parking capacity from one to two car parks. Car park access control is best described as was ineptly implemented, with thoughtless positioning of card readers making it almost impossible to open the gates without getting out of your car, and poorly implemented sensors for boom gate raising when exiting, so that once again, exiting the car to use the car reader or contact reception to get the boom gate raised was needed. Rectify the car park access control system so the $18 per day fee to use it is then justifiable!

Great location and lovely hotel, great restaurant and bar. Booked a wheelchair accessible room, I have MS and use various mobility devices. Accessible room was excellent but so far from the checkin desk I was exhausted getting to my room. Used a mobility device the next day to make things less strenuous. Great shower with fold down bench, and very quiet room. Lovely staff, great cocktail made by Nikita. Perfect stay, except for the distance from checking desk, don’t think it could have been further. All good if you know in advance 😊
The distance between check-in-desk and room I don’t think could have been further. Good wheelchair accessible room but I walked it the first night - exhausting!

- Very helpful and friendly staff members from reception staff to house services to restaurant staff. - Food in the restaurant (had dinner as well as bar food) was extremely good. My husband thought his lamb shank was the best lamb shank he’s had, plus my caesar salad with prawns was delicious and generous. - Our room was spacious and had a lovely bathroom with good storage space. Great shower flow. Lovely decor & colours in the room & bedroom- felt comfortable & contemporary. Loved the plantation shutters. Would be nice to include 2 knives & small plates with the existing cups/saucers so you could cut/eat some cheese with your drinks/wine.
- Having to pay for overnite parking. - Our cable tv wasn’t working due to a cable being plugged into the incorrect outlet and after 2 reception staff coming to our room to try & diagnose why it wasn’t working, the 2nd staff member contacted your technician who diagnosed the problem. This 2nd staff member (a lovely female reception staff member) fixed up the problem herself by putting the cable behind the tv into the correct outlet. - Our room phone was unable to be used to “low battery”. Had to use our own mobile phone to contact reception about the above cable tv problem.
