Wonderful bed and quiet room (and unexpected but delightful upgrade delivered by a very welcoming receptionist), Appelles toiletries are beautiful, everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Evening meals were delicious. Service out of the kitchen was a little slow but more than compensated for by great service, especially from Mahesh. The short walk from the station was perfect for catching the train both ways. Everything else needed a taxi which was anticipated. The push button call for the taxi was easy at the front desk.

Breakfast took too long to arrive. When you need to pack and check out it needs to be more efficient, especially since it was fairly empty. Generous portions at least.

Service and friendly staff. The rooms are fabulous and the bed is so comfortable and luxurious.. The eggs benedict and mushrooms have been just the best apart from one where there wee a lot of people for breakfast and the kitchen was under pressure and the meal was cold.

There have been 3 breakfast meals that I felt were not up to standard, viz the omelette I could only have 2 mouthfuls and could not take anymore and the actual omelette itself was so thin, I wondered if more than one egg was used ($22); the toastie that was very light on filling for $14. and the pancakes were cold with very little substance and the cream wasn't fresh and whipped, it was from a can and I would expect better for $21.

I loved the welcoming and helpful staff on reception - Kelvin, Kaitlin and Daniel who assisted with a smile and a friendly chat. Thanks also to house keeping for looking after my room and keeping it spotlessly clean. This hotel is close to Kingston Railway Station, bus stop to city, Kingston Foreshore with great restaurants and Kingston Superbarn Supermarket (short bus ride) for fruit and yogurt etc.

Everything was great but I would have liked use of a microwave like I have in many Japanese and Aussie hotels I go to. The kitchen did heat up a bowl of vegetarian food I had but I had to sign a disclaimer at reception.

Loveky Rlrestaurant on site, nice big rooms and fairly quiet. Our room was upgraded on booking.com without us knowing. All good but what we didn't know was our shower was over a big spa bath & it's not safe to get in or out of the shower. Nearly injured myself the first night as I already had an injury. Next morning advised reception of, they moved us into a suitable room without any fuss.

Water went cold under the shower suddenly one night...Its a huge hotel so hopefully there's enough hot water to give paying customers a hot shower whenever they want.

The hotel location was good, walking distance (10 to 15 minutes) to Kingston shops & restaurants on Eyre Street & to Kingston foreshore. Walking to Manuka was possible 15 to 20 min. You need bus or car to get to the Parliamentary zone or canberra centre. The hotel itself was quite comfortable, very clean, bed was good, noise level low (we had a ground floor double room). The room had a coffee pod machine which was excellent, for those who don't like their coffee too strong use one of the glasses supplied, instead of the cups. Press the water dispenser on coffee machine twice leaving the same pod in the machine, you get a full glass of coffee, add milk supplied if you take milk. If not for the bathroom this hotel is a 10 every day of the week. That said, the water pressure was excellent, shower good, dispensers of soap, shampoo, conditioner & moisturiser were provided. Overall a good stay at a very good price. I would stay in this hotel again.

The only down side was the bathroom, in serious need of a renovation, it was clean and totally acceptable as is, but dated. A nice granite bench top on a water damaged cupboard really does not cut it for me.

Breakfast was excellent. Bed was too hot. A couple of cotton blankets would have been much better. I missed the sofa that used to be in the rooms. Have been to Diplomat over many years. The room looked empty, 2 arm chairs would have been nice. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Appreciated the excellent linen and plentiful fresh towels etc in the bathroom. It was great that the area in the centre with the bar and dining room was always open and inviting. Appreciated the friendly and helpful staff.

Bed covers were too hot, the Duvet was too much. A couple of cotton blankets would have been perfect. No complimentary biscuits. There used to be always complimentary biscuits. It would be a nice touch to add them. A sachet of Decaf coffee would be good. As we are a family we would appreciate a way of accommodating our adult son in his own room, without having to pay full rates for 2 queen rooms. The room looked a bit empty I think that there used to be sofas in some of the rooms. An extra armchair would have been nice.

Very clean, room is very well equipped with free hot drinks like coffee and tea, they use great brand SMEG, also bathrooms are equipped with high quality products to use. The room is comfortable and air conditioning is great. They have free access to free secure parking as well, reception area has a very pleasant seating with board games and books to enjoy time out of your room. Also they have outdoor swimming pool and a nice small gym. Walking distance from power kart racing arena Which was GREAT.

Price is high per room. There is no view for the rooms, yet location was great.

From the moment we walked inside the Ramada Diplomat, I noticed the beautiful aroma of the motel, it smells clean and devine! The staff are welcoming and friendly. We had a King Spa suite. It was the best room we've ever had in a motel, so much so, that after we dropped our luggage in the room, I went down to reception and extended our stay. The suite was aaamazing, so spacious, and the bed, was so comfortable, I could've stayed there all day! The bedroom is separated from the lounge area, by a door, which you often don't find, unless you're in an apartment. The kitchenette had everything, lovely SMEG appliances, hubby loved the pod coffee machine, TV'S and a/c in both lounge and bedroom, two sofas, and a proper dining table. The shower was hot, and the spa was pure luxury. On the lower level is a sparkling pool, so it was lovely to take a swim on the hot days we were there. This was a magnificent find in Canberra. We'll definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Nothing!

The room was comfortable and spacious and provided all facilities a traveler would expect. There was no charge for secure parking under the hotel. The staff were helpful and communicative.

There was a blocked drain in our room which should have been identified before we were checked into the room. It required a plumber to fix it and we were offered another room however as we were already settled into the room (and the sink eventually emptied) we elected to stay in the room, as we were only there two nights. The hotel was very helpful and communicative and when we elected to stay in the room, offered us complimentary breakfasts for the inconvenience.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, parking is free and easy. The room we booked this time was a king room with spa. Unfortunately the spa had a large crack in the floor of it, and we were not willing to use it. It potentially was a danger to cutting our feet or worse. After speaking with management, we were given drink vouchers to use, we had to keep the room tho, as the motel was fully booked out. On the 2nd day we were moved to another room with a working spa. We also received an apology letter and a bottle of wine.. The king rooms, are exactly that, king size! The bed was very comfortable, pillows are quite good also, the shower brilliant, the atmosphere of the bar area and meals area was great. The food although a little small at times was very tasty and cooked to our liking. The motel is within 2klm of several food places with water views. Coles supermarket and service stations also within 1.5 klm. We will stay here again, on our next visit to Canberra..

The spa bath needs immediate action taken to repair the cracked base in it.
