The hotel is a hidden gem in the midst of Canberra. It’s very welcoming immediately you enter and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The lounge dining and bar area are beautifully appointed and you feel like you’re home or staying with a large family or group of friends. The rooms look down into a central atrium which makes for a lovely atmosphere. The food is amazing. It is very reasonably priced. Because it is so central and near the railway station and bus stops, it’s very easy to get around Canberra without having to use a cab or Uber. However, if you want to use those Services, they are readily available and arrive very quickly. The beds and rooms a very comfortable. Having a Smeg coffee machine was a plus. I can highly recommend the Ramada Diplomat as a great place to stay and enjoy your visit to Canberra.

There was nothing I didn’t like, and I will definitely be staying again.

All staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. Water and lemon water are available in the foyer, along with lollies for guests. Free laundry facilities are available. The lobby/restaurant area always looks neat and smells good. I think this hotel has all the essentials, but the room needs freshening up.

-The room is dated and needs repainting to look like the photos. -The low ceilings make it feel a bit stuffy. We were on the ground floor; there is a window facing the road, but it was very dirty, so we did not open it. - The car entrance to the hotel i think should be swapped with the exit, even the taxi drivers find them confusing..

Wonderful bed and quiet room (and unexpected but delightful upgrade delivered by a very welcoming receptionist), Appelles toiletries are beautiful, everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Evening meals were delicious. Service out of the kitchen was a little slow but more than compensated for by great service, especially from Mahesh. The short walk from the station was perfect for catching the train both ways. Everything else needed a taxi which was anticipated. The push button call for the taxi was easy at the front desk.

Breakfast took too long to arrive. When you need to pack and check out it needs to be more efficient, especially since it was fairly empty. Generous portions at least.

check in was efficient with friendly staff and our rooms were located on the ground floor so great access, the rooms were a good size and very clean. They were very quiet the beds were very comfortable and the whole room was relaxing and lots of room to put your things. We had breakfast for us 6 the service was great and the choices were really good. We also had dinner the first night and the food was amazing so well presented and so delicious the service throughout was very good. Great location and well presented we would definitely stay there again.

Wish it was a longer stay, maybe next time

Room was well appointed and quite large with KS bed. Sofa was wonderfully firm and there was probably a sofa bed underneath. We appreciated the slippers provided by the hotel and loved the dark blue decor. As I am short-sighted, I appreciated the well-lit mirror to apply make-up. Excellent secure parking. Sadly, we didn't have time to use the dining room or facilities of the hotel.

Mattress was far too soft and gave no support for a person with dicky hips and lower back pain - in hindsight, I should have slept on the lovely, firm sofa. The room was clearly designed for two or more people but only had one chair which would have made room service difficult. A couple more hooks in the bathroom would have been helpful especially in the shower to hang dripping shower cap, face clothes etc. The A/C is thoughtlessly placed as it blows straight down on the person sleeping underneath. Cleaners need to pay attention to bathroom mould especially as the tiles appear quite old, and it took me several minutes to clean the TV remote of grot between the buttons, but I always take my own cleaning wipes to any hotel for these little tasks.

Stayed in ground floor large king room. Good quiet location for work trip. Easy to get to by car. Covered parking space saved scraping car windscreen on cold and frosty winter mornings. Good breakfast and dinner options. Clean room, comfortable bed. Disposable room slippers and bath robe provided. Good WiFi. Good range of TV programs. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. In room safe. Independent control of reverse cycle room air conditioning to personal preference. Good working bathroom exhaust fan. Friendly staff.

Coffee pod machine could do with a good cleanout. Could hear sounds coming from adjacent room. Cold ambient temperature, draughty in dining area. No temperature control in gym area. In bathroom, narrow shower spray pattern not adjustable, tap was loose and leaking in certain positions.

The room I was given was very comfortable - spacious and clean throughout, and I thought the complimentary bathroom soaps/shampoos etc were really good quality. I also added the breakfast offer to my deal; that was was great value for a really good-sized and tasty breakfast that kept me going past lunchtime. The staff I interacted with were all polite and helpful too.

The small drawback is that the hotel's location is slightly further away from things if you don't want to stay in for dinner. Not too great a distance if you have a car, but quite a walk to other local areas where there are shops and restaurants

Stayed at the Ramada Diplomat Canberra and had a great experience. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was super comfortable for a restful night. Loved the breakfast – plenty of options and fresh choices. Staff were attentive and made the stay even better. Would definitely come back

The only downside to my stay was that the pool was closed, which was disappointing as I had been looking forward to using it. It would have been a great addition to an otherwise comfortable and enjoyable experience. Hopefully, it’s open next time, as it would really add to the overall relaxation and amenities the hotel offers.

Service and friendly staff. The rooms are fabulous and the bed is so comfortable and luxurious.. The eggs benedict and mushrooms have been just the best apart from one where there wee a lot of people for breakfast and the kitchen was under pressure and the meal was cold.

There have been 3 breakfast meals that I felt were not up to standard, viz the omelette I could only have 2 mouthfuls and could not take anymore and the actual omelette itself was so thin, I wondered if more than one egg was used ($22); the toastie that was very light on filling for $14. and the pancakes were cold with very little substance and the cream wasn't fresh and whipped, it was from a can and I would expect better for $21.

We originally booked a king deluxe spa room with balcony but when we got to our room there was no balcony. I had just had an operation and had two patches under my eyes and was told to enjoy some air. My husband went down and spoke to reception and they immediately moved us to a king deluxe spa room with balcony, even though we booked through booking.com. It was $278 for the night which is on the high end so one would expect quality. The beds were fabulous and so so comfy and as I was not feeling great the bed was a pleasure to sleep in and equally the pillows were fabulously soft and comfy, so great we wanted to buy them! We had a spa which was lovely and ordered room service which was delicious, fast and prompt.
