Alluna Motel

Fantastic place to stay, friendly helpful staff, great pool very pretty location. Right next door to RSL Club, lots of Cafes around it.

No problems, everything was great.

The staff were amazing, and were willing to accommodate my late check in. The rooms all have individual allocated car spaces that are decent in size and right in front of your room. The car park and areas around rooms is very well lit and feels very safe if arriving back to the room late. The rooms were spacious and very clean and as an added bonus the water pressure in the shower was great.

Only slight complaint was the wifi was touch and go and I had to use my mobile data most of the time and the TV signal kept dropping in and out. But those issues are likely more their providers fault than due to the owners.

I booked breakfast for the first and last days for convenience. I travelled up from Melbourne by car and returned by train. I was very pleased to know that I could have received a lift to the station. Under other circumstances to be picked up and dropped off would have been very important. I also liked the fact that we could walk into town and to the college where we spent the best part of every day. I also liked the fact that cutlery and plates were provided so that we could organise our own meals. That was really helpful. For what we were doing, the Alluna was perfectly situated and provided everything we needed for our stay.

The room was more spacious than we expected and very well set out. The bed was very comfortable, you could also watch tv from the couch, there was plenty of almost instantaneous hot water and the fridge , microwave, toaster and kettle all worked well. The motel was a short drive (3-4) minutes from the centre of Armidale and easy to find and get in and out of and there was little traffic noise. In fact there was little noise from other rooms.

The toilet did not have a dual flush and used a lot of water when flushed. I believe that toilets are being upgraded.

Very comfortable well appointed motel clean rooms comfortable bed ,great location and quiet. Excellent value for money.

Inconsiderate guests who REVERSE park and sit in their vehicle with the motor running and talking on the phone for extended periods. Exhaust fumes drift under the doors of adjoining rooms. Need to use snake at back of door to minimise. Difficult to police. Perhaps external signs advising people not to reverse park?

Staff were super friendly and provided all the information I could need. The room was super clean, bathroom was nice and the little kitchenette was stocked with the necessities and even a cold jug of water in the fridge. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets, TV worked with lots of channels and the ability to cast from a device.

Only complaint was the neighbour was smoking outside the door and yelling and swearing with a friend on the front patio.

The room was quaint but spacious enough to set up a home base for a few days. The lady who owns Alluna was absolutely lovely and we were never in need of anything. The bed was comfortable enough and there were more than enough pillows and blankets.

The only thing I could have used that wasn't readily available was more storage - but that's a personal preference. I was in Armidale for university so I needed to bring a week's worth of clothes with me. The room just lacked drawer space - in the room proper and in the bathroom - so I always felt a little like I was living out of a suitcase which is something I don't personally love.

As expected, this was not a best or deluxe accomodation, as it is a motel and the room was a bit small with minimalist approach. It, however, was very suitable for this price range, and it exceeded my expectations. Main point is that the bed was so warm and comfortable in the unusually cold day (due to sudden cold-snap). In fact, I would say, it was the best motel bed I ever slept in. I was afraid that the reverse-cycle air-conditioner was too old. It, however, worked very well to warm up the room comfortably, despite that it was a bit noisy (as expected). In addition, the motel provided a small oil-column heater. After I switched off the air-conditioner, the oil-column heater kept me warm all night. I particularly appreciated the intention of the motel to keep the guests comfortable like this.

It was a bit far away from the restaurants. Though, I had been told 4 blocks. So, it was not a fault of the motel operator. I should have just driven to the area and parked there, rather tan walking, in retrospect.

I was very grateful for the comfortable bed and electric blanket. It was good to be have the bar heater to put on to warm the air up. The water pressure in the shower was brilliant. I think the wall between each room should be sound proof.

The bathroom was dated with built up dirt in corners I couldn't have tv on and not disturbed next room as it was on wall between rooms which you could hear everything. No private conversation because next room could hear every word. I could hear everything in next room.

The room met our needs well for the number of beds, amenities and location. Pretty good in terms of cleanliness; shower recess, vanity, bench space, carpets and beds were all clean. Only some marks on the bathroom wall from dust combined with condensation. Lovely welcoming staff. Quiet location and we did not hear any of the guests in neighbouring rooms.

My pillow was a bit hard (another member of the family said in the morning that their pillow was too soft though, so you cannot please everyone. :D ). I smacked my head on the light over the bed when I went to sit back against the wall to watch TV. The water temperature in the shower was difficult to regulate and was impacted by other guests turning on their taps.
