Armidale Inn

The managers are EXCEPTIONAL! After a few hours on the rd, their warm welcome and friendly smile was perfect. Their friendliness alone will see us as return visitors next time we pass through town. Other things to mention - * older but clean, comfortable and roomy rooms. * inclusion of a simple breakfast was AMAZING and made for an easy start to hitting the road again in the morning with the kids fed and ready to go. * free wifi * the little extras like real milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were fantastic and loved by the kids. Thanks so so much - we'll be back.

The Managers were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. It was great to have the breakfast and what was provided was much better than I expected. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and had good pressure.

The main "disappointment" was that the advertisement said that electric blankets were provided in winter and there was no electric blanket on our bed. There were also no additional blankets to put on the bed; thankfully we had brought two small woollen blankets with us that thankfully we were able to use. The first night we stayed got down to below zero so it was very cold for us!!

The highlight of my stay was the exchange with staff who were friendly, helpful, responsive and really made my stay enjoyable. Nothing was too difficult or inconvenient.

Some maintenance issues arose and should have been fixed earlier e.g. smelly daughter's room most likely due to a plumbing problem. Grateful for the air freshener offered, but that would only be a temporary solution. Shower screen in my bathroom was stiff, got stuck and needs fixing or replacement. I was told this would be done in the coming week. The accommodation otherwise was comfortable, good value and run by delightful people.

Undercover, sheltered motorbike parking. Easy to navigate the driveway and to stop and park (not always easy on adventure bikes), at properties with steep driveways and gravel, so a big thumbs up for being biker aware and biker friendly. We arrived late but the owner raced outside to meet us as we arrived (awesome smile and lovely lady). In the morning after my shower (super hot water - awesome) I realised that my room was missing the hairdryer. As a biker and not wanting wet hair in my helmet, I phoned reception to ask if I could please borrow one from another room and the owner raced over with a brand new one right away. Super impressed. There is a restaurant off the reception area for breakfast. I had raisin toast and coffee here while enjoying the morning rays of sun. Husband had juice and cereals followed by toast and condiments. Previously named the Armidale Motel and the signage also says Motel. Google and Waze apps knew where to go, but had I been looking for a street number or Inn I would have been lost. Loads of food delivery options (even at 8.30pm) There were enough power points to charge everything - 2 x helmet comms, 2 x phones, 2 x battery banks, 2 x CPAP machines. (Not always easy finding 8 accessible power points).

Partner said there was hair in the shower on the walls and on the floor. I advised him to just use the shower head and hot water to wash it off, which he did but he then refused to shower after deciding that the previous guest may have also peed in the shower too and consequently he wouldn't use it. (OMG further comments I am mumbling under my breath rather than typing here). I had no issues with the bathroom or anywhere else and I thought the room was perfectly clean.

The hosts at the Armidale Inn were exceptional in bot friendliness and assistance. The room and presentation of the helpyoruself breakfast was great, very clean and well presented. The breakfast dining area was pleasant with country views and tea, coffee, cereal and toast provided. The bed in the family room was very comfortable with good quality sheets, pillows and towels. The bathroom was adequate and very clean as well. Thankyou so very much to our hosts at Armidale Inn.

I can't really think of anything that could have been better. A little further out of Armidale itself, but not an inconvenience at all, a very quiet night with the birds singing in the morning. Very pleasant.

I liked the staff and the room. The parking was easy and I liked that I could get breakfast at the accommodation. It was a really nice room and really comfortable.

The lights outside the room were on until after midnight and the blinds didn't give good coverage to block out the light. I couldn't sleep until the lights turned off and then woke up before 7AM as the light shone into my room. Would be better if we could turn off the lights outside our room or have another blind to keep light from coming in.

Straight off the bat, staff were welcoming and down to earth. The room was really perfect for a solo traveller, it was clean and the bed was comfy! The location was quiet and I slept like a baby. I really appreciated the cutlery and plates/bowls. Honestly the only fault is that the bathroom is quite small but it’s manageable. I loved that they had a power board near the bed as you’d be surprised at how many motels do not have any power points near the bed.

The staff (owners) were really lovely people. The Motel is a quite simple, but in the process of being "done up" by the looks of it. It was very clean and supplied well with sheets, towels, tea, coffee and toast making all in the room. And the little outdoor area (directly outside our room) with table and chairs in the sunshine was a great spot. They were also very accomodating with our fur baby.

Did not have a problem with anything

We was very grateful to the owners who went above and beyond with our accommodation, we had a problem with the air conditioning and they tried to fix ... with no fault of their own, they offered alternative accommodation and it was very nice and spacious ... I enjoyed the breakfast as well, no pressure with how much we ate (though we did not eat much) ... we would recommend and stay again

As I travel alone I don't like to leave my dogs to accept the free breakfast. The location is great. I am always impressed that I do not have any issues with travelling with my pets. That is why I am a repeat customer.

It would be handy to have a hook to hang your towel. Also the tap in the bathroom does not allow the kettle to be filled. A container to assist would be great. I used a cup. Loved the wooden floor update!
