We stayed in the Homestead Room, which was apparently part of the original homestead. Lovely spacious bedroom with high ceilings, a big bed, a full length standing mirror and wardrobe. It has a separate sunroom with a dining table and chairs and a nice big bathroom attached. There was a small verandah but it was a bit nippy for that. The room was very clean. The motel is outside of town and off the main road so it was very quiet. We were greeted by Remy, a very friendly Airedale. Check-in was easy and friendly.

We had been looking forward to dining at the restaurant because of the good reviews. It was shut due to a lack of staff. I don't know whether this was because it was Anzac Day or if it is closed until further notice. So it was Chinese takeaway instead. Breakfast was available.

The Hosts are experts at making guests feel welcome. The rooms were spacious, fresh, clean with gorgeous rear outdoor setting to enjoy the tranquility of the park like gardens. Birdlife exquisite, a vast array of native birds within the mature tree gardens. Jasmine scented ambience from the natural flowering plants. The historic setting was so beautiful I would love to return for a holiday to this venue. Breakfast experience delightful. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, couldn't think of a more peaceful place to find ourselves.

We could have stayed for a week. We delighted in every little moment, from wandering the park like gardens, to discovering the history of the property and the people who created it.

Absolutely beautiful & picturesque location. The hotel itself has an old-fashioned country vibe. just beautiful. We had a family room which comfortably catered for our family of 5. Very spacious. Very comfortable beds.

Nothing not to like about the hotel! We were travelling with a sporting team and didn’t realise we weren’t within walking distance to pubs and restaurants etc. So whilst that was initially a little disappointing, in the end we didn’t mind because the accommodation was so wonderful.

A memorable stay. Large, comfortable room with a small table and chairs outside overlooking well maintained lawn, guinea fowl and fields beyond. It's a drive to Armidale which won't suit everyone, but we found it refreshing. Breakfast is available and there's a large lounge which would be terrific with the open fire in winter, especially if they can get staff to reopen the restaurant for dinner. Great value as long as you are happy driving to dinner.

Lovely location, convenient to golf course. Fabulous meal and breakfast. Great for a group travelling together for a golfing weekend

on arrival the reception was friendly, polite and took credit card details then informed me that the room was $300 per night . I was surprised as the booking was for $330. As we were staying as a group of five playing golf this was great news. As accommodation costs were now $60 per person. Each player contributed their share. when I went to check out I was then told no it’s actually $330 a night. An awkward situation

We stayed very briefly. Very impressed with the old fashioned country hospitality. The greeting at reception was so friendly. We were there for a family funeral so it was just a bed for the night. The cost was very reasonable I just wish we could have stayed longer. Many thanks you gave us a great rest after a difficult day.

Nothing except perhaps warnings of the driveway speed bumps.

Large property with outlook over parkland and hills, away from traffic and no sense of being near the town.. High ceilings in rooms gave feeling of spaciousness, great natural ventilation as well as airconditioning option. Staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful.

The restaurant is no longer open, but we were given information about other excellent eating options, as well as restaurant that delivers to the room.

The room was as expected - I am familiar with this venue and we had the Bridal Suite in the main homestead. Dinner was superb and well up to the standards of the original chef Archie Campbell who started "Archie's on the Park". The in-the-round log fire was a lovely bonus on a cold night. Beautifully quiet. Breakfast coffee to the room was on time and very nice.

Breakfast to the room was a bit haphazard, but we got all the missing bits promptly. Only took two minutes or so. Otherwise, nothing else to dislike.

Room was quiet and very comfortable with a rural garden outlook.......with delightful Guinea fowl wandering by. Parking and access to room easy, no stairs. Tea and coffee making facilities with proper milk a bonus.

The continental breakfast was a little lacking. Muesli would be a good addition and golden syrup to go with the crumpets!!

Quiet country setting a few minutes out of Armidale. Set on a heritage property, with a country garden and space for kids to play. Not very modern but comfortable and full of character. I felt very safe, despite no high tech security. Loved the old fashioned breakfast in the on-site restaurant. Extremely clean motel room with quiet, reverse cycle air con and very comfy bed.
