Petersons Armidale Winery and Guesthouse

Lovely Edwardian property, big rooms, large bathroom lovely ambience and communal lounge, veranda and outside dining area. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and helpful. Easy to find and plenty of parking - highly recommend this place.

We arrived on a Monday and it transpired that this was the chefs day off so no diner available in the restaurant. We really wanted to immerse ourselves in the pleasant surroundings of the property so didn’t want to go out by car to find a restaurant- the member of staff on duty could not have been more helpful and provided soup, antipasto and a cheese board as well as deserts to make a very enjoyable evening meal for us complete with local wine - this was excellent service

The Staff were Amazing, from the welcome at the door to the goodbyes on leaving ,the food was very good and the open fire in the dining room was just what we needed as it was very cold, The veranda was a nice place to enjoy our wine and cheese platter in the sun, for our 2 night stay, close drive to Armidale for a walk, and close to visit the the near by water falls. The big hall as it is called was just what we needed 2 open fireplaces, lots of seating to sit enjoy a wine and chat with other guests if you wished to, or just to sit and read. Only 7 accommodating rooms in all , in this charmer of a house, so relaxing. we would recommend a stay and we will return again, would love to see the beautiful gardens in full bloom.

The food was great and of good quality. The breakfast which was hot was much appreciated as opposed to cereals and bread. My partner and I really liked staying at this place - out in the country but not too far from country Armidale. Inside the facility we loved being able to sit in the lounge area on comfortable chairs in front of a large open fireplace. As the kitchen was just in the next room the smell of food being cooked was sensually stimulating.

A small thing but two mornings in a row they seemed to burn my toast or perhaps I should have said to them that I preferred it lightly done but other than that I had no issues with the food.

We loved our stay at Peterson’s. From the moment we arrived we had exceptional service from the staff. We chose to dine in the in house restaurant and was not disappointed. The included breakfast was also very generous and delicious. The two meals were in two different dining rooms and both had lovely ambience. We left very relaxed, with a complimentary bottle of wine and would highly recommend others to stay.

Nothing. We would have loved to stay two nights but it was booked out for a wedding.

Far enough out of Armidale to feel a little isolated but still within easy reach of town centre. Very relaxing atmosphere, wood fire buring in the sitting room with wine tasting made for a wonderful Winter retreat. Restaurant was lovely, perfectly cooked simple food from local produce. Breakfast was fabulous. Very comfy room, electric blanket on the bed and bathroom floor heating a very nice treat. Very friendly multi-tasking staff.

My only critisism was the breakfast coffee but in the big scheme of things not a big deal.

We loved the old world baronial ambience of this guesthouse. Our room was enormous,the bed very comfortable and there was underfloor heating in the huge bathroom. Breakfast was included and was very nice. We also ate dinner there twice and it was a very high standard and very well-priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Because of the heritage building there is no aircon. There was a wall heater but even so, our room was a little colder than we would have liked and the sofa badly needs restuffing.

We have stayed here before and love the old world ambience and comfort. We had particularly spacious room this time with am additional sitting/TV room. I think I had the best sleep this year the bed was so comfortable. I would recommend booking for dinner. There is a good variety of dishes in the limited menu and the wines are all excellent Peterson's wines at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is served in the sunny breakfast room with views of the garden.

An very interesting type of accommodation, we loved the old world décor of the homestead and reading about the house's history. We enjoyed walking around the beautiful manicured grounds and lovely gardens with interesting plants and trees. Also we enjoyed seeing the farm animals, the vineyard and wine cellar door experience plus the restaurant was very charming and romantic and the food and service was very good.

Location was great, only 10 minute drive to the centre of Armidale. Daily breakfast was sufficient however the nightly meals were extremely delicious and well cooked - Beef Cheeks and Lamb Shank consecutive nights. The best part of this guest house is that it only has 6 rooms and therefor not a large group of people. Pre dinner drinks around the fire with other guests was enjoyable. Rooms were big and beds very comfortable. Cellar door 1 minute walk from guest house with a good selection of tastings. Staff were excellent and made you feel welcome.

If I could fault anything it would be that there was no ironing facility in the room - but who really cares.

We were warmly greeted and shown our room in this beautiful old home. Fire burning in the sitting room. We had dinner there, which is served in their dining room. Great choices for 3 courses at a reasonable price of 65/Head. The food was delicious. Wines also reasonably priced. Some of which were from their own vineyard, we had their shiraz... a very nice drop. Breakfast served in the sunny breakfast room was also lovely. The gardens are wonderful too. This would be a perfect location for a wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this guesthouse most highly.

Nothing to not like
