Forest Lodge Motor Inn & Restaurant

A good location, on the east side of town which made it easy to leave for Newcastle. The bed was comfortable and the room and facilities were clean. The on-site restaurant, Lime Thai, is very handy and the food was good. The breakfast was very generous and tasty (bacon, scrambled eggs, tomato, toast, plunger coffee) and reasonably priced.

Could have been a bit quieter,I could here road traffic in my room.

Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. The added supply of basic cutlery and crockery was well appreciated, as well as a toaster and microwave. The air conditioner worked well and kept the room cosy warm. The Thai restaurant was close and yummy unfortunately they are closing down in 10 days.

We arrived at 3 pm to find reception already closed. There was a number to ring and get access to a key lock box and then find our own room. Again when we tried to leave at 9am the reception was closed. We had to approach the wonderful cleaner to leave the key and ascertain whether they had debited my credit card.

It was central to my needs- access to the hospital where my family member was, while being not far from essential needs, food etc as well as activities that I could do at low cost and not be far away if needed at the hospital. Such as botanical gardens and main shopping centre strip. Quiet overnight. Bathroom modern and relaxing to use. Comfy bed with nice pillow options.

Little noisey during business hours. Street traffic and school. I had muck around with second sound proof screen so I could close the outside original window to get the full effect of the sound proof feature of the room.

Motel was very easy to find and the lady in reception was lovely, welcoming and helpful. The room was bigger than expected with a sofa as well. Bed was comfortable with lots of spare pillows if needed. Kitchen was well equipped with cutlery and crokery as well as toaster, kettle, microwave, dishwasher liquid and towel. Bathroom was a good size with great pressure in the shower. Huge fluffy towels and extra bath mat was lovely. Lots of mirrors in the room which made getting ready much easier as we didn't need to all be in the bathroom.

Like all motels, you can't pick who stays near you. So not the motels fault that the neighbour parked their car with the exhaust pointing in to our open window every time and the other side were smokers. Just luck of the draw I guess. Also a shame the restaurant wasn't open but that wasn't the motels fault as it is privately run.

The family room is fantastic if travelling with a big group (it is interconnected between both rooms). 2 x double beds and 1 bunk bed. 2 kitchenettes (2 mini fridges). Not far from the Athletics track where we were headed - easy commute to and from the track. Rooms were nice, had a bath, showers were nice and updated. We really appreciated being able to check in late and check out early.

Not a dislike lol but if tall like my hubby the double bed might seem small - feedback re: electric blanket. May need to be bigger so the controller isn't on top of the mattress where people lie down. However, none of this is negative - we loved it here!

The rooms were clean & comfortable, with all the modern touches. The bed was super comfy, and the shower had great water pressure. It was also very handy being able to park the car right outside the room. The on-site Thai restaurant had absolutely delicious food, and they were happy to deliver it to the room for us. We ordered room-service breakfast, which arrived at the requested time, and was hot and delicious. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming !! We will definitely consider staying here again !!

Nothing, we loved our stay here !!

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. They have double glazing on the front window so the road noise wasn't heard. Everything we needed was there. Tissues, biscuits, lots of little personal care extras. Bathroom has been updated and is appealing.

Its an older style motel but that didn't worry us as clean and everything you need was there. Shower over bath wouldn't be ideal for some people. A supportive rail was fitted to make it as easy and safe as possible.

The unit was nice with all needed amenities - good lighting, t.v., a/c., hot/cold water , car park in front of unit & once I saw the location in the daytime, quite easy to find & near all amenities for the city. I phoned ahead to say I would be late arriving because of holiday trafffic & the staff saw me pull in & had the room key ready & completed the invoice to save me time.

I love to arrive at a motel & have a nice cup of tea or at least some milk, but none was forthcoming here. I also love a car cover which was missing too.

Very friendly operators and then off street parking for my truck was a bonus and no trouble as they provided remote for the duration of my stay. Rooms clean but a little dated. A/C units in both sections of the unit. Centrally located. Though on two main roads very quiet. Is next to a school (was not open while I was there as it was NSW school holidays).

Bath shower. if one had sore knees or I was an elderly person it might have been difficult to have a shower

Return traveller, quiet location and very clean room. Loved that you can have breakfast (room service) and nice Thai Restaurant on sites. Electric blanket. Even though nights were very cold, room was fine without heater on overnight.

Slight noise from next room more annoying than loud. Think it may have been water pipes as only now and then.
