Nightcap at Macquarie Inn

The room was gorgeous and spacious. The ease of giving the bistro/pub was nice and easy especially after a long drive. Affordable and will exceed your expectations.

I had booked months in advance and noted it was my birthday on the day of my booking. I had made a special request for a cheese platter and a bottle of wine, noting that I would be happy to pay upon our departure. I received an email back confirming that they would arrange this for us at no extra charge although this didn't happen. We did receive a voucher for 2 free drinks but when I saw other reviews it looks like every guest receives this. I was a little disappointed especially considering the bistro wasn't open for a few hours after check-in and we drove from Newcastle.

Specifically chose the unit for a little bit of luxury being my 50th birthday. King bed luxurious but a little soft even for me (but has prompted me to save up for a King bed as sleeping was better). Kitchenette useful especially fridge with 2 bottles of cold water. Bistro close by with 10% discount with accommodation. Great selection of food, tasty and good prices. Steak cooked to perfection!

The mixer tap on the bath/shower was broken which popped off when turning on/off. The air conditioner was a little noisy for sleeping without earplugs. The spa bath had basic jets (5) but was lovely and hot. Car park was further away especially being in the far corner. Overall I’d stay here again as it was wonderful.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Stand alone hotel being part of the complex which was surprisingly quiet of a night.Complementary drink at arrival was a nice touch , 10% discount on bistro meals. Breakfast was good with a variety of things to have.

Room wasn’t vacuumed at all during our 5 night stay. Had a tradie next door for the first two nights who set his alarm for 4.30 and slept /snored through it until 5 am at which time I had to bang on the wall to wake him up. More hanging space for longer stay guests. Breeze way full of leaves .

I really liked this place. It was out of town and quiet. It was renovated and clean. There was plenty of room. We ordered room service for dinner and it was nice. The breakfast in the morning was nice as well.

The beds were way too soft. When we first sat on the mattress, we were very excited, but when we had to sleep on it, it was way too soft and our backs were sore. There was a buffet for breakfast and we missed out on the first round of food and had to wait for the second round. But that was fine.

Room 16 was very quiet. The table outside had quite a bit of bird poo on it and there were leaves around the table. It would have been quite pleasant to sit there and have a drink otherwise. Our Daughter had room 17 which was very spacious and enjoyed the afternoon sun. The rooms were very cosy.

The scrambled eggs on the first day were very watery and not pleasant. Probably because we had a late breakfast at 8.30am. We needed to ask for items to be replenished. As I said probably because it was late in the Breakfast Service. On our second day everything was beautiful but we got to Breakfast at 8AM. It was very enjoyable.

All in one. We didn’t have to go anywhere else to eat.

The beds are on rollers and kept moving. The bathroom floor around the toilet area was dirty. No tissues in the room and no shower caps (it’s was cold and we didn’t want our kids getting wet hair). The hair dryer felt like it was about to have a meltdown and was too hot for the 3.5 year old. The eggs at breakfast tasted like they were made from a powder.

The room, breakfast and bed were fine. Would stay again when we’re in Dubbo.

The only downside was at the restaurant, we ordered a meal for 2 at dinner and we waited for an hour for it to turn up, my husband went and asked when it would be here, they completely forgot about it. The chef came and apologised politely, we were then given our meal, they also offered us a drink or dessert on the house.

We booked the Superior King suite with spa bath. Great room, clean and bright. Large private patio area outside. Adequate kitchen facilities. Large TV screen. Location quite away from city centre, but restaurant and bar on site. Booking came with breakfast included.

At check in, given courtesy voucher for 1 free drink each at bar. Very limited as what the free drink is, one or two selected wines. Only a couple of beer choices from pump only, no spirits. But can’t complain nice added extra to stay.

The room was spacious enough for our family of four. It was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for getting to all the main attractions in Dubbo. Having breakfast included was an extra bonus. The staff at the restaurant attached to the hotel were lovely as was the food. We didn't have one bad meal and we ate their 3 nights in a row because of this, the delicious food and amazing convenience.

Our room was spacious, and tastefully appointed. We had a modern bathroom with an excellent shower and large thick towels which were appreciated. We really liked being able to eat on site. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were better than expected, and it was lovely to be able eat in front of the fire.

The only thing I disliked intensely was having TVs going in the eating area. Bad enough at dinner, but we were lucky enough to position ourselves so we couldn’t see a screen and there was no sound. However at breakfast, the TV was on with the sound loud enough to make it hard to talk. Everyone ate quickly and left. It was very off putting. It robbed the meal of a great deal of pleasure. We come on holidays to be together without the normal distractions.
