What an amazing Pub! Full of old world charm, history and comfort. The fireplaces were wonderful! The walls (and ceiling) have fantastic memorabilia to look at and read. The meals were superb, drinks cheap and service was so friendly and quick! The accommodation was lovely with updated bathrooms, kitchen with microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and supplies, and even Foxtel and electric blankets!! Two beautiful woolen blankets as a backup as well! Located in the main street, so you could walk to everything! We can't wait to go back again - though this time we'll book direct with the pub - it's cheaper.

I didn't like that Booking.com charged more for our accommodation than the pub would have!

This has been the highlight of my travels so far. Gulgong is a beautiful town, and The Prince of Wales Hotel is the perfect place to stay. Reception is at the bar, and it is such a friendly place. The bar is wonderfully decorated. Rooms are at the back of the hotel with parking. The room we stayed in was immaculate and well appointed. A double bed and single bed with a decent bench between the beds. A spacious and clean bathroom, shower only. Air-conditioning works well, TV and microwave. Not only do they provide tea and coffee but also hot chocolate. We had a meal of fish and chips in the hotel dining room on arrival. The service was excellent and the food was cooked beautifully. We really enjoyed tasting some gin distilled in the local area. I cannot recommend this place enough, I cannot fault it.

Location was central to Gulgong and near enough to Mudgee to meet my needs. The rooms consisted of holiday style hotel units at the rear of the hotel. They were reasonably modern, functional and clean.

Obviously, the accommodation adjoined the hotel. However, there was another pub across the road also. Basically, it was Saturday night and slightly noisy. Not extreme and we weren't really bothered but it is handy to know.

A great place to rest, relax and take in the locals and location. Room is quiet, clean, and comfortable. A good night sleep here and lovely ensuite. Good kitchen facilities means providing your own breakfast is easy and a lot cheaper than another Motel where breakfast is provided. Easy to park considering Gulgong’s streets are not very wide. It is very good value for money and will book here as a preference as we stay in Gulgong at least eight or ten times a year.

Just maybe they could replace the shower rose.

The light outside my room 13, needs to be replaced, as I found difficult putting key into door at night and felt unsafe due to the location of my room being in a dark corner.

Perfect spot - accessible to everything - staff fantastic - clean - comfortable - parking easy - what a great little town Gulgong is - FANTASTIC pool - and staff at the pool are amazing - along with the Gulgong Amateur Swimming Club with Brad Toole at the helm. I would be back to stay here in a heartbeat

Convenient, great pub with multiple open fires

The bed was very uncomfortable. Also it can be noisy. Especially Room 14 where we stayed, it had a gate attached to the outside wall which leads to the car parking area. Of a night this gate is closed which is good but guests have access and come and go through the gate which when let go bangs and clangs right next to where you're trying to sleep.

Absolute gem in the middle of Gulgong. We had booked a family room, which was spacious and detached from the other rooms (room 11), the room was super clean and well appointed, the toilet is separated from the bathroom which a real bonus when travelling with a family! the patio/garden outside the room is well maintained and provides a welcoming feeling. the staff are super friendly. it was one of the best night sleep we had!!

Great location in the centre of a beautiful historic town. The historic hotel was well maintained in keeping with the theme of the township. The hotel rooms had all the modern features one would every need.

The room was lovely, spacious room, didn't fall over everything and very comfy beds. Good size bathrooms, nice to get the toiletries on the sink and nice selection of tea, coffee, biscuits. Sometimes it's the little things to make your stay that little bit extra good. Thank you
