Zig Zag Motel

The room was comfortable, warm and spacious, and I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I ate three times in the restaurant and the food was good. If I need to return to Lithgow for work, I would stay at the Zig Zag again. Many thanks.

I alerted the staff to two issues during my stay in Room 43: 1. there was a small leak in the toilet cistern which made the bathroom floor wet in the mornings. 2. I had trouble with the television reception 3 nights out of 6, with the picture breaking up badly, and I couldn't find an ABC channel which I would have liked (not all of us want to watch Sky News!) Finally, staying for a week as I did, I would have appreciated a few more simple kitchen items to go with the microwave, such as a plate, cutlery, salt and pepper.

the location was great, out of the heart of town, with a great view of the hills The room was spacious, bed and couch were comfortable. spa was great for winter as it is a very cold area, nice to relax in after a day on the trails The staff were great I liked that there was a restaurant on site and breakfast and lunch hampers were available.

i was disappointed that the heated outdoor pool was closed, but as it was so cold, i probably wouldn't have actually used it. The corner spa in our room was small, definitely could not fit two people, which was a shame, but it worked great.

It was close to everything we planned, easy access, clean and the reception staff member was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were a good size. We didn't get rooms close to each other but the rooms aren't that far apart so that was good. The rooms had everything you need, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, hair dryer, a sofa, and a lot of space to put things. Plenty of power points to plug in your adaptors, which was good because other places I've stayed you don't get this. There was a table which we were able to move around so we could play games. Previously at other places we had to sit on the bed which was hard sometimes when you have a big group.

No cons about the hotel. Just had a bit of a issue with parking. People were parking in other hotel guests room car spaces. At arrival we had to help get it sorted so everyone was parked where they should be. If there is someone parked in your space just let the reception know. They have rego details of the other hotel guests and can contact them to move their car to the right space. Instead of someone arriving to their room and finding their space is taken. The spaces are designated to that room and makes it easier for hotel guests to unload and load luggage.

Rooms were spacious and kept very clean Great parking, so many places you need to shoe horn your car into a space made for bicycle, these were good sized spaces and right in front of your motel room. Pool, too cold for a dip on this trip. but the pool and area around it was maintained lovely and when we come back in warmer weather will certainly take the plunge Location was pretty good with walk into town a reasonable 10 - 15 mins away (2 min by car)

Having to collect crockery and cutlery from reception a pain in the butt, but reception team friendly when asked. It was just frustrating at 6am when wanting my cornflakes ;-) Putting a fridge, kettle and microwave in the room but no toaster also a pain. Our room overlooked a derelict carpet warehouse, planting a few bushes would easily mask that

Service in reception was exceptional. Room was very clean and well presented.

We got there just after 2pm after saying we would be there between 2-3pm and was told that our room wasn’t finished being cleaned. We didn’t care because we only wanted to drop the car off and go to the club. When we got to the car spot outside our room we could hear the cleaner in the room complaining about not having enough time to get the rooms cleaned by 2pm. I found it disappointing to hear a staff member complain like that when there was a customer standing right outside after she saw that we were there. Thankfully that was the only complaint which I laughed off anyway.

Everything met expectations and i would stay again. Check in is easy, and room clean and spacious. I come to Lithgow often for work and always eat at the italian restaurant, it's delicious!

The only disappointment was some noise of gatherings in the carpark until late, I have no problem with people having a good time, i just needed to know a cut off time being on a work trip with an early start. I rang reception to ask and the woman who answered the phone kept telling me to speak up because she was making someone a coffee and if i wanted to make an order to just call back. I wasn't told about the no hot water due to the gas shortage until arrival. I think that should be made aware before then.

The beds were really comfortable and the pillows were quality. The staff were so friendly, the location was beautiful and scenic. The restaurant was first class. Meals delicious and service was fantastic! A fantastic park nearby for the kids. We cant wait to come back again in September.

The shower was tricky. The spray went throughout the shower so you needed a hair net to keep your hair dry. The temp was really hot (which I like) and then cool. Hard to find an in between. It didn't dampen our stay though!

This was this the most comfortable bed I’ve had all my holiday. Appreciated the size of the room and the table and chairs. Location in proximity to Zig Zag Railway. Michelle at Frankie’s Restaurant looked after us very well and we’ll always remember her smile!!!!!!

Gap under the door. No shower stool in disabled room. Cost was high with no breakfast. The vanity light didn’t work in bathroom. No decaf coffee in room. The price was a bit high when it didn’t include breakfast.

Very comfortable room, plenty of space. Nice food in the restaurant, and they even had a happy hour! Plenty of parking, staff friendly and helpful.

Staff couldn’t initially find the booking from booking.com as it hadn’t come through properly and they weren’t expecting us, but they were able to rectify the situation. We were a bit concerned that we could have lost our room if the hotel had been completely full. They had to put us in a disabled room and it all worked out ok in the end.

I was really impressed with our stay here. Check-in and out both took about 30 seconds with the friendly staff. Our room was so clean, and the bed was so comfortable! Parking right in front of our door made getting in and out really easy. We were here for a wedding so didn't spend a lot of time at the property, but we slept well.

Because you're fronting right onto the carpark (as to be expected from a motel) people outside feel very close, so I was given a small fright by someone outside our door around 4am. Generally though, the property was very quiet and peaceful.
