Blackheath Motor Inn is a leafy, comfortable, seventies style motel. Located on the Great Western Highway rooms facing the road and railway do get some noise, but it is a a short walk from the pubs and restaurants of Blackheath. Rooms are a good size, beds are comfortable, staff helpful and overall it is a good choice for anyone on a budget.

The property is showing its age in a few places and some increased maintenance would be good. In one of the rooms we booked the shower head was painful - literally.

With a short drive to and from Katoomba, our stay in this small Motor Inn met our expectations. The staff was super helpful and the room was clean & tidy. Our bed was comfy too. Yes, we could hear a little bit of traffic noise but this is not a big enough excuse to exclude this motor inn next time we plan to stay in this area again.

The limited amount of parking area means that when every spot is occupied, getting the car in and out can take a bit more than '3 turns' 😊

The old world atmosphere was lovely. We were there to attend a wedding in the Megalong Valley at 2pm and our hosts very kindly let us check in early as we needed to catch a bespoke coach at 12.40pm Hosts were delightful people and if we ever need to stay at Blackheath again we shall definitely return to Blackheath Motor Inn.

Only the distance we needed to walk to catch the coach as I was suffering from pain in both my left knee and foot. Also, the spare toilet paper was a little too high for my husband to reach, however Garry explained the reasoning for it. :)

Very convenient location and the place had all the necessities. Staff were very accommodating and let us check in an hour early. The bed was comfortable and fitted with 2 electric blankets which made for a great night’s sleep in the winter!

The decor is very dated and the room quite dark, but everything is functional bar the hair dryer (which worked but bring your own if you need one).

We appreciated that everything was very clean and orderly. The room itself very beautiful and with much attention to detail by the hosts (loved how it was equipped with tea, coffee, cookies, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, etc.). The personal greeting and reception was warm and caring by the owners. Very good parking!

Bathroom amenities were a bit limited, even for us who were only 2 guests in the room (Ex. 1 miniature bottle of shampoo was barely enough for one person). The bathroom was quite cold as the room heating system did not reach it. A small heating solution for this would be great.

The big vehicle that parked outside our room was huge Parking was a problem.. We got a parking space but not what we would have expected and if we had arrived after 6pm we simply wouldn[t have been able to park in the parking area.

Rapid check-in, rooms cozy, heatpump/airco installed, comfy beds, not too small bathroom with hot shower, good amenities. Coffee+tea facilities. 5mins into town + train station. Ideal for transiting or staying one day in Blackheath and exploring some nice tracks in the neighbourhood (note that Pulpit Rock Lookout is closed until further notice)

Easy to locate and convenient. Just off the Great Western Highway, Blackheath Motor Inn is a short hop (3min walk) away from the main town area. It was really easy to find because of its location and has free parking right outside your room. Cleanliness. The room is very clean and their meticulous efforts show through. Thoughtfully stocked. The room comes with a toaster, a microwave oven, a kettle and a fridge. The beds are also fitted with a heater for the winter season. Electrical points are readily available all around the room, making it easy to charge devices throughout. Owners of the property. Garry attended to us when we arrived and he was friendly and helpful, giving us directions and suggestions for our trip. He made us feel welcomed.

Request for the quiet rooms, not sure if the rooms facing the road will be quiet. we heard some traffic coming through in the early hours of the morning

The room was cosy, clean & warm: reminiscent of some nice chalet type of accommodation I've stayed in in Europe. It was even kitted out with a microwave and toaster. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

The only infinitesimal thing, if we're to be really picky. would have been the audible rumble of the freight trucks passing during the night. However this is not the owner's fault by any stretch. The NSW government needs to get that noise addressed for the residents of the Blue Mountains asap!

Firstly we were thankful that the Inn is located close to the train station (as well as the town's centre) as we arrived there from Sydney. Above all however, the cozy look and feel of the place one us over. And what made it all come together were the owners who were genuinely friendly, helpful and informative. We love it up in the mountains so will definitely be returning to the Blackheath Motor Inn to enjoy more of the lovely atmosphere.
