Mercure Maitland Monte Pio

Room 137 was large, very comfortable and had a great view of the countryside. The staff were lovely and efficient and we enjoyed a satisfying breakfast. The onsite parking was excellent. We would stay again.

Your best asset is the gentleman at the front desk. A few days before our arrival I needed to change a date and Booking.com did not get back to me. I phoned and the gentleman was EXCELLENT. No bother and happy to assist with the alteration. When we arrived he was so pleasant and lovely and he assisted with breakfast the next day when our family also came and everyone commented on how friendly and welcoming he was to us all. This man needs to be congratulated and recognised for outstanding customer service. A HUGE thank you to him from all of us.

Nothing comes to mind that I would want to change, great just as it is. Only thing, maybe beach towels if you use the pool which we did.

Historic building in excellent condition with a brief and interesting history provided in rooms. Check in was friendly and efficient. Elevator provided for rooms on 1st and 2nd floors. Very comfortable bed and bathroom with view over nearby farm from bedroom window. Good quiet air conditioner. Nice outdoor pool and spa area. Interesting to walk around the building and gardens as many of the historic features of the property have been retained. Onsite restaurant serving a good range of dishes, a little more expensive than a local club or hotel would be but we were happy to stay at the hotel for dinner.

Just loved the place- loved the history that goes with it- Room very clean -#107 although the shower did leak out under the door - no biggie though. staff so friendly and helpful. Meals great valve also Location suited us perfectly

The size of the room and bathroom and the historical features of the property. The bed and pillows were most comfy and it was very quiet so we had an excellent sleep.

There was an adjoining door in our room to the room next door and we could hear the guests talking. The curtains were very stained and falling off the tracks. Also, the air conditioner was so loud we couldn’t use it. There was also no toilet lid which was odd so flushing was very noisy and could be heard outside the bathroom.

Friendly Staff, beautiful Motel. Lots of parking, and good location.

We love this place! It’s such a charming old building with a long and interesting history. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, staff are very helpful and friendly, room service is amazing and we love coming back. We have stayed there twice now, and have decided to make it an annual thing! We’ve stayed in two very different parts of the hotel and they were both brilliant in their own ways.

Monique on reception was absolutely fantastic... very welcoming & warm. The rooms have lovely appts and are on the large size - we had an Exec Room. Great position and easy for commuting to The Hunter Valley. We would definitely return again.

The staff- Monique is an amazing customer service advocate. She had an extensive knowledge of the hotel’s background and activities around. She is a “ Jack if all Trades “. Keep wowing your guests Monique.

We like the eccentricity of the Monte Pio. Have stayed quite a lot over the years. Breakfast was good, dinner very nice but a little expensive. Very large and comfortable room.

Water leaked out of shower across the bathroom floor. There was no microwave or crockery & cutlery in the room except for a bamboo teaspoon & two mugs. Becoming a bit expensive to stay, unfortunately.
