Darcy's Hotel

Beautiful place, common areas felt like a fancy mansion. Beautiful grounds. Walking distance 15 min to train. Feel of rooms great my actual 8 is for the basic house and grounds. Would give it a 6-7 for personal experience at the place

King size bed was actually 2 old mismatched over the hill twins pushed together. Front door open but no one there to greet or show me my room at 5pm. Had to find envelope/key on a table. Had to find facilities. Messages prior with questions no replies. Power strip in room didn't work. Finally late in evening bumped into 'Andrew' who seemed more annoyed than helpful.. Large kitchen area but no instructions or writeup we can do with it. This place COULD be a 10 star b&b but instead odd 7 rating.

Our stay at Darcy's Hotel was exceptional value and memorable. It's a charming hotel with spacious rooms and centrally located to everything, including public transport, shops and multicultural eateries. We're particularly grateful to the owner, Andrew, who generously allowed us to leave our car in the hotel's private car park while we did our two weeks cruise. Off-street parking was available and safe. Andrew also kindly dropped us off at the train station so we could catch the train to Circular Quay for our cruise. We were able to use the hotel's laundry facilities after our cruise. We highly recommend staying at Darcy's Hotel and will certainly stay there again when we're next in Sydney.

I love historic buildings and Darcy’s is such a beautiful place full of history I am curious to learn about. It’s small, quaint, and away from busy and loud roads. The garden is just as beautiful as the building. Most important, they have a writer’s desk in the parlour room!!!! Darcy’s is close to both Strathfield and Homebush train stations (12min walk), and buses run along the nearby main road.

While the property itself was good, we did have trouble with mosquitoes on our first night. We believe they came in through the open bathroom window (but can’t be sure) and once we bought repellent, they didn’t bother us. The fridge in the room didn’t seem to work properly either. The light wouldn’t always come on and while it did keep our water cool, it didn’t seem to keep the leftover food we had. Internet didn’t fully work; the connection was weak. We ended up using our data most of the time.

I didn't need it, but was delighted that the bathroom sink was positioned very well for wheel chair users, more of this being mainstreamed please. Homebush village is a short stroll away past beautiful federation houses. Several nice places for an outdoor brunch too.

The door was too heavy and tended to slam. This might make it awkward for frail people and those with noise sensitivities. Easily fixed though 👍. It would be good for mobility impaired guests to be able to open the door at the top of the ramp themselves - maybe with their room key? If you have a mobility disability, it would be smart to ask about this.

The olde world charm and spacious room was very appealing. The photos were accurate. There was no history of the property. It would have been nice to learn about the building and what it has been used for previously.

There was no signage at the property, making it difficult to tell if we were at the right place. The elderly man who met us at the door was unsettling. He made both of us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. He appeared to be cross when we called the number as instructed on the front door. There was also a large rat in the kitchen area.

we stayed 2 nights at family ensuite 101, the room is tidy and clean, and the beddings are so comfy. I would like to buy the same brand of pillows. Strathfield has lots of Korean food, and it is very close to Burwood, which is a great place to shop and lots of great food.

the only thing that wasn't so good is the batchroom. It takes time to get the hot water and the shower facility isn't that good. It is also not a baby-friendly shower room. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided.

Darcy's hotel is a beautiful heritage building, convenient to our destination of Sydney Olympic Park at an affordable rate. The common rooms were beautiful, the beds so comfortable we checked what type of mattress they were for our own home, and we loved the space in the accessible bathroom. Only 2 blocks from restaurants, cafes and Homebush train station.

Parking was a bit tight, but available.

It's a home away from home! Didn't really feel like I was staying at a hotel per se. I really enjoyed my downtime at a quiet place after a hectic day sightseeing. It's in a very nice neighbourhood. Found some good restaurants a few minutes' walk away. Friendly staff.

It was decorated and furnished in keeping with the theme of the house; stepping back in time a little is always acceptable for a weekend! The rooms were large with high ceilings and had excellent quality beds and pillows. The grounds were beautiful and welcoming, such a nice location to walk out to restaurants, cafes and trains.

The heater in our room wasn’t working very well. We should have reported it straight away so that they were aware it needed maintenance but we didn’t get around to it.

Excellent sized room for the price and big wooden doors and furniture and parking available on site. Owner let us wash few clothes very generous

There was no room numbers and Owner got upset we entered the wrong room because we arrived early and no one was there... Cheaper rooms had overly used things like Burnt kettle, split aircon not workingb but there was, separate heater provided, old towels with threads coming out. There were two single mattress attached together and it was hard for us to sleep as couple while all these things were not specified in the listing.
