The location is great. Good barbie (hostel's courtesy)

I found myself using the toilets outside my dorm in order not to wake up the remaining dorm residents. The toilet outside the dorm wasn't that clean and sometimes toilet paper was missing. The goki system for dorm access is a bit convoluted and overkill in my opinion. (although by using goki there are no physical keys prone to be lost). I tried to use the washing and drying machines but they require a lot of coins, no debit card option (and the reception more often than not doesn't have enough coins to help you out) They have a qr code in each machine but it doesn't work properly.. Had to walk for quite a bit to a laundromat.

Great little place to stay for a night out . Security is excellent and the people staying there were very friendly . Twin room was tidy and bed was comfortable . Shared bathroom was pretty clean at all times . Melody on the reception was excellent in taking me through the steps to get my access key and a great asset to the reception team . If you’re looking for a cheap no frills stay in a great location then the village fits that bill , even comes with a free welcome drink on arrival !

Not staying for an extra day to relax !

My stay was made exceptional thanks to the warmth and efficiency of Bea , the receptionist. Her welcoming demeanor and helpfulness added an extra layer of comfort to the experience. The hostel itself is really cozy , the location is perfect ( near central station ) and the accommodation team is exceptional , my room was always spotless ! I highly recommend Surry Hills for a delightful stay , with Bea’s attentive service as the cherry on top !

Good location 3 stops on metro from the airport but also then easy to get to the Surry Hills for good food/drinks options as well to get into more central areas around the harbour/museums/botanical gardens etc. The Goki app is also great as means you don't need to carry a separate key/card to get in.

First room i checked into wasn't made up however they did move me swiftly into a new room so didn't cause too much of a problem.

My recent stay at The Village Surrey Hills Hostel surpassed all expectations. Upon check-in, Bea's warm welcome and efficiency made me feel at home, she was very friendly! The hostel's clean dorms and vibrant communal spaces provided a comfortable atmosphere for socialising. Conveniently located ear Central, with Bea's valuable tips, exploring was a breeze. I highly recommend the Hostel for for travellers. Thank you, Bea for a fantastic stay!

Friendly staff Convenient location. Easy walk to central. Nice dog park across the road. Lovely deep comfortable chesterfield lounges. Our room had a fridge which was good, but could have had more power points to charge our devices

No tv in room. No complimentary tea bags or soap cakes for shower. Noise from other people late at night. Hard to sleep with all the noise.

I stayed here for 2 weeks and I really enjoyed the stay!! It's a very social and friendly hostel. Especially Jouse from the staff!! She was very hard working and was always eager to do her best making us pancakes and preparing the barbecue. She really had a big impact on making the stay more than incredible for all of us❤️

There is not a time where my experience was altered in my consideration to continue staying or returning it is suited location close and accessible. The experience was improved with the involvement and responsive staff.

Facilities are not structured to undertake late work obligations effectively

I loved everything! The staff, especially Paula & Bea, were so friendly and accommodating. The location is great as it’s a quick walk to Central station, so you can go anywhere from the hostel. I also loved the common areas and 24 hour kitchen, they made it super easy to make friends. I will be coming back to this hostel!

Nothing, it was one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in.

I had a dinner on the 24th and just needed a bed to spend the night, as I didn't want to take the train at 23h. The hostel was the closest I could get. The room was not full, which is always good for visitors, maybe not for the establishment...

The shower still had hair on the walls, and I took my shower at around 15h30, so I don't know if it had just not been clean, or my roommates had already taken a shower. There was no soap in the distributors in the toilet or the shower rooms.
