Great location for ending a long day of travel. Close to central train station, so convenient train access to/from airport and downtown, Reasonable walking distance to main city sights (Opera House, etc.) Good restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

Needed better bathroom. No jug for tea/coffee in your room although in the lobby you can help yourself 24/7

Hotel 57 has very friendly and helpful staff, open to conversation. I met a number of them through the evening and daytime over my stay. The complimentary all hours coffee bar, and morning pastries, snacks and fruit were great. Such a bonus to the trip. The hotel was very clean, I always saw a staff member cleaning, doing some maintenance, nothing was out of place. Room: The bed was so comfortable, and I had a range of pillows that was very appreciated. The shower was clean, hot right away and had excellent pressure. All the decor was well matched, and the hotel cleaning staff acknowledged my Do Not Disturb sign. The location was excellent. If I had left on any day other than a Sunday, I would have been able to take a shuttle to the airport, which would have been handy, since the trains shut down that day, but otherwise this would have been a great service. Ill keep it in mind for next time. The wifi worked and was a decent streaming speed. TV has the basic channels for when you basic news etc. Hairdryer and iron (and board) on hand in the room too. They also store your bags for free when you need to check out and catch a later flight. Aircon worked well.

Nothing really, but I did think the gym pass of $20 for two hours was a steep, and I think this might be a pass for the near by gym, not a gym at the hotel itself. Just a note to visitors to factor that into their budget. but that didn't impact my stay a lot. Instead I went for a run at Albert Park which is a 5 minute walk away, and park gym things are there to use.

Superb location, close to Central, Chinatown, and Surry Hills. Great staff and a quick check-in process was welcome. Unbeknownst to me, there were various light breakfast items available - various pastries, croissants, pain au chocolat, muffins, fruit, plus juice, teas coffee etc. Handy to be able to grab something light on the way out in the mornings...

The room configuration was a little awkward, with one side of the very comfy bed up against a wall. I suppose the smallish square meterage of the room dictates the layout to a certain degree. Non opening windows meant no fresh air....

Staff were pleasant. After we changed to a bigger double room it was value for money. Apparently their double rooms come in various sizes for the same price. Close to Central station and light rail. Don't expect a lot from the breakfast offerings. It's ok for a couple of days stay. All day coffee/tea facilities were good.

First double room, (before requesting and granted a bigger double after 2 nights), was exceptionally small. I now know where the saying " You couldn't swing a cat " comes from. Don't take room 111 on any floor.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, just a short walk from Central station. The breakfast pastries were a nice touch and the room itself was clean and had all of the necessities. The bed was very comfortable.

The shower in the room left a little to be desired. The water did not come out smoothly and the shower curtain did not reach the floor. Due to the bathroom design this led to a lot of water getting all over the area in front of the toilet which isn't the safest. The wifi kept kicking us off, not sure if that was due to us being on the seventh floor or the room being far from the router or not.

I got a free upgrade to a bigger room so my experience might be biased. The room was very comfortable with a big bed, lots of space and a great shower. I had no issues with water from the shower spilling over as noted by some other reviews. Also the layout with the bathroom at the end of the room and the only window there didn't bother me. Free coffee and simple breakfast options was a nice touch. I also used the dry cleaning service and the nearby gym access - both were easy, convenient and good value for money.

Really cool and modern decor, art, and styling. All staff members we very nice and pleasant! Great value for the money. Location was amazing centrally located with easy walking to pubs, great eateries, etc. It seemed to be a very custom, well thought out build by an independent operator who cared. Would definitely stay here again!

The things I didn’t like which I think could be easily improved for customers was the comfortability of the mattress. The bed was also on wheels which I had mixed opinions of. It was nice to roll is out of the way to get my stuff, but when the bed rolled the pillows could fall. the room was a bit noisy thru the front door. The bathroom fan didn’t turn off with the light so it was a little annoying. Mini fridge would be a nice touch if they could add it !

Great location with plenty of food options close by .. the coffee and breakfast snacks were a wonderful treat ..beds are excellent so comfy

I was in a 3 person room and don't like the window/ curtain options to separate the bathroom and the window tint was only the lower part of the window and there was an office building across the street that I could see into so I guess they can see in ...this is fine in a couples room but definitely not in a shared room with multiple beds ...

Great location and everything you need within a few minutes walk (cafes, bars, supermarket, bottle shop, and transport hubs). It is very convenient for the trams and trains which makes it quick and easy to get from the hotel to anywhere in the city or circular quay for a ferry - plus easy connection from Central to the airports. Super-friendly, helpful staff. The 5th Floor corner King room was a great size with good views of the surrounding neighbourhood. 24/7 tea & coffee facilities in the foyer were very popular. Easy check-in / out and baggage hold at both ends of my stay. For me, I am a regular visitor to Sydney .. I found it good value for money and will happily stay again. Many thanks to the front desk staff for the free room upgrade, much appreciated.

I could see inside a few of the smaller and more basic rooms while they were being cleaned, and I would not want to stay in them for a holiday, but a bed for a night or two might be okay. I can understand why some people write poor reviews about the snacks available in the morning .. but I was grateful to grab a piece of fruit or two for my day bag and/or a snickers bar. These were free, after all. My only real criticism is that the outside of the windows in my room were quite dirty, which spoiled the view. As a solo traveller, I had no issue with the glass walled bathroom (which has modesty curtains on the bedroom side) .. but I can imagine that some people may find this a little odd in a shared room arrangement.
