This is, simply, a well run hostel. If youve never been to a hostel, this is s great place to try it for the first time. The community areas are clean, comfortable, and accessible, the atmosphere is friendly and warm, and the rooms are small with personality. Beds on the firm side and comfortable. In a property this old with so many people coming and going, you are going to see the occasional cockroach but it was by no means infested and they weren't here because it was dirty. I got to meet the housekeeping employee briefly while she was working hard. No bedbugs (I've experienced that before and always check for signs that they've EVER been).

Although I like the personality of a dated property, some will not. The complaints will be things like... the shower dripped, the sliding bathroom door had no lock, the shower door was broken (but functional), and I saw a bug. All well worth the cost of staying here. Good job Brisnane Manor team. :)

Brisbane Manor is an older type of accommodation which I really like; but if you are expecting 5 star luxury this is not the place. What you get is a value for money and clean basic place to stay that is both comfortable and in a perfect location for trips into the Valley or City. I have stayed here many times and will keep coming back, especially if going to gigs at the Tivoli, showgrounds (Knotfest e.g.) or Triffid. As a child I visited the then Queensland Museum which is just across the road (but is now a revamped performance space); pleasant memories each time I see it. The fabulous King Street with loads of eateries and cafes (Kuhl-Cher Coffee for one) is just over 300m away!

A fan in the room would be great!

Wow wow wow, after making a mistake and booking into LyLo last visit to Brisbane and having a horrid experience i can't believe that this Manor exists! It's so unique, Authentic, Historical, Grand and Characteristic. It felt very welcoming. We had the Tripple room with private bathroom for such a small amount to pay. The shared kitchen in the middle gallery is so wonderful!! I honestly have paid $500 per night at the cable beach club few years ago and this room was better! The beds were comfortable, the aircon was lovely.. I love the Authentic wood throughout the Manor even the bathrooms. My kinda style at such an affordable price. I bet this gorgeous Palace is booked out constantly.. AMAZING PLACE TO STAY IN BRISBANE if you want a great spacious room for a bargain price! THANKYOU WE WILL BE BACK BEAUTIFUL BRISBANE MANOR ! 🌟 🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

I loved everything! Absolutely wonderful trip because of your lovely Manor! Comfortable beds, enough pillows and extra blankets, gorgeous shower, little table andc2 chairs to eat meals..There is a few microwaves for quick heating up meals..even one in the hallway! There's an extra toilet in the corridor too.. great security at the front gate, easy morning key returns, great smart TV, pretty fresh linen, a mini fridge for keeping things cold and shower gel and hand gel in the pretty Authentic wooden bathroom. Enough towels amazing friendly staff, the groundsman helped me into my park he was so kind. I'm definitely coming back. I love that place!!!

it was value for money. To stay in a city for that price was exceptional,Location was ideal.near by in KING street there were lots of eateries at varying degree of taste and pricing.also KING street also had a 7 eleven mini supermarket with marginal take away meals and coffee.open 24 hours.i had a single room with shared facilities next time for not a lot more would have my own facilities.the shared kitchen and dining area was spotless, so too the convienance of the outdoor seating area.my room, plus others ,had a balcony which was great, the front of building also had an large area with seating under the comfort of shady trees.and last but not least the managment and cleaning staff were all obliging and made you feel most welcome.

just a little maintenance wouldnt hurt, one shower door didnt operate fully.fridge in room wobbled, just needed an extra leg.

Absolutely stunning front patio. My band and I were on tour and they were so lovely to let us have all our band mates hang out in the patio listening to music and enjoying a few beers. They were absolutely wonderful with accommodating to any of our needs, they lent me a phone charger, watched our luggage for us while we waited to be picked up, and they would promptly provide us with anything we needed from mugs and bowls to clean towels. I will definitely be coming back to stay here, the whole building is beautiful and has original stained glass windows and wooden floors. Also our own air conditioner in our room which worked so well! This place is suitable for everyone old or young, singles or families. Thank you Brisbane manor! We loved our stay with you.

There were minor details in things needing repairing in the bathroom, but everything was perfectly clean and still functional. I would also recommend a lamp for the bedside table

The location was ideal as it was in proximity to where we wanted to go out in the city and the after hours check in was convenient as well as an easy and manageable process. The staff at reception were very friendly when we checked out the next day too! :)

The room and the manor were a bit run down, but that’s to be expected as it is a historic building. However, in saying that it was total value for money for a one night stay to easily be able to get out and about to where we needed to go and then be able to go back to after a night out :)

Re: Bonus Question: Family Friendly and Safe --> the fortitude valley and surrou ding area has and is made up of a lovely community and melting pot of street and cultural diversity. Safety is of course the primary focus with children and children are most certainly safe and the area is family friendly however St night children should not go out alone without an adult. Brisbane Manor was lovely and is most definitely family friendly and safe 👶👶👶🤗☺️

Parking if you have a vehicle can be an issue and the valley falls under the Brisbane Inner City Parking district which denotes a 2hr maximum parking limit for all street parking and private car parks are expensive. Brisbane is in fact in the top ten most expensive cities to park in across the world behind Paris!

The room size, the small TV that was available in the room. The fact that I was placed near the bathroom on my request. Also cooking and heating facilities for food. Within walking distance of Brisbane, the railway station and a couple of cafes! Also they stored my suitcase for a day after I left! The owner and staff were friendly and helpful.

a couple of small cockroaches found their way into my room. The bin was not emptied everyday and that was the problem I think! Also I kept running out of tea and milk which was not replenished every day.

My friends and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Brisbane Manor and will definitely be back. It’s a great location, right next to the showgrounds and other locations we visit a couple times a year. Staff was lovely and hotel was clean.

Only thing I found not 100% is there was no dishwashing soap or cloths in the room to do our own dishes. Next time I will definitely make time to ask the staff if there is any in the hotel that I could use.

The room is comfortable and is self contained. Parking my motor bike was easy and in a location readily accessed. The location is central and provides easy access to the Valley and to the CBD. The room has a small veranda surrounded by palms that provides an excellent spot to sit and relax. There is tv, fridge, aircond, and jug in the room.

There is no sound proofing between rooms but with earplugs I still had a good night sleep
