Good facilities in room and at hotel, they even have a restaurant although we did not use it.

The maintenance of the property could be improved. We had to change rooms twice - in 102 the rear patio doors could not be locked. In 120 the front door could not be closed as the lock plate was falling out and held by only one, far too short screw. The staff were very happy to assist us with room changes, but after a long drive to get there these hassles for fairly obvious issues were a bit of a pain. The location of the property is a good 30 mins walk from the nearest place to get a drink or evening meal- so not good if you don’t want to take the car…

Advertised a cafe & room service on their website, but there was no food available. We had to purchase food for breakfast because there were no cafes or restaurants nearby.

There was no toaster in the room even though it was not possible to order any food. The owner kindly "loaned' us a toaster which we had to use outside. We were informed it was a Work Safe ruling that we couldn't have a toaster in the room. I couldn't find any legislation in Queensland that toasters were not allowed in hotel rooms. We intentionally chose this hotel (advertised with a restaurant and room service, and close to town) and didn't want to hire a car. In the end we were forced to hire a car to get around, go shopping, etc. It was far too hot and distant to attempt walking into town; although we did walk back to the hotel when it was after dark (cooler).

Rooms was spacious and bed was quite comfortable. Check in message received from property and made things very easy on arrival. Property was clean and tidy and easily accessible.

Our door alarm kept going off, as the staff were not available in the office (even though the sign said open) we had to continually use the card to open the door until it would stop. The scooters were right outside our door and a bit annoying with beeping. Also noisy latecomers (and incidents in the car park) not that this was the properties fault.

A vast improvement on my last visit. Large rooms with balcony. As a family with young children, it is so nice to be able to get ajoining rooms.

A few little details need fixing, leaking tap. Bedside lamps with blow bulbs. Just little things yes, however when you pay good money for a room, everything should work. I would still stay here again...great location and friendly staff.

We travel from Airlie Beach to Mackay 3 or 4 times a year, we will always book Mackay Oceanside Central Hotel now we've found it. Very clean and bright modern rooms. Very comfortable beds/pillows. Room service meals are fantastic. Nice and close to town, just a couple of minutes drive to shops etc, but not on busy streets as most of the similar priced motels. Looking forward to using the pool next time when we go in summer!

The cutlery provided wasn’t clean. This was our second time staying in this place. First time was really good. This time the cutlery provided was used ones which wasn’t washed. But other than that everything was fantastic.

New apartments, bed was comfy, super clean

Couldn't get a park on the property. All parks were taken by tradies. Need to boot extra cars off site so that there is 1 car per apartment. This sucked. Had to walk 200m with luggage. Breakfast on site was horrible. Burnt omelette. It was actually black. Coffee was piss weak and about 1000 degrees.

love that there is a saltwater pool, it was raining during our stay but much prefer that than chlorine chemicals! clean room and comfy bed :)

the balcony door felt a little unsafe as the locks are very basic. the courtyard/balcony on ground level overlooks a small field/ grass area which is lovely but felt slightly unsafe for me as I don’t know the area well.

Convenient, clean, staff were good. Meals for dinner were huge and tasty. Didnt have breakfast there. I liked the room.

It was a bit windy and the doors howl. But thats not your fault. Could use a decent weather strip on the door . Water came in during almost horizontal rain
