The place has been refurbished as its a older building definitely noticeable and more appealing to all other motels around central location. Clean The cleaning staff are very welcoming and friendly and the main manager guy at reception has exceptional customer service skills and was so eager to welcome us and tell us about mackay and all of the hotels facilities!

We had the family room whoch is fantastic in size however our main bed matress and pillows very old could do with replacing. fan in bathroom doesnt work and no window to vent in there.. blanket is also old and musty smell we chose not to use it. Inside is very stuffy needs to be opened up prior to guests arriving perhaps freshen up with room deodoriser . Understanding however as building is old these improvements would make it alot more fresher and inviting. Otherwise overall id stay here with my family afain definitely over the others in Mackay for sure. You can see this place is revamping and trying to improve given the age of the hotel.

Everything about my stay here was great. Most importantly the hospitality. The management goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort and nothing is too much trouble. They are professional and actually care about their guests. They take care of the details and that's what is special about them. We travel regularly and this is the best place in Mackay. In Mackay unfortunately management just doesn't care most of the time - the old school hospitality is nowhere to be seen. It is interesting how when you stay there is no hospitality but when you leave they ask how they can improve your experience. By then it's too late! It was lovely to stay at this property. Thank you. The property was immaculately clean and close to everything. They have room service and serve great meals and you will find fresh herbs as garnish - basil and thyme was on my meal - not parsley. Details. They serve breakfast and lunches and everything is presented beautifully and competitively priced. I had to book 3 extra days - 1 day at a time and it was no problem and they allowed me to stay in the same room so I didn't have to move. I was worried because the property was full of cars each night so I presumed there might not be any rooms but they were able to and happy to accommodate me. I have had to do this at other places and at one place they made me move 3 times. And the property was empty there were only 2 or 3 cars in the place those nights that I stayed. I've never been back there since. I know hospitality having worked as a receptionist myself, I know it's not hard to move rooms around but you need a management that has some level of initiative and intelligence and who gives a damn and unfortunately that is sadly missing. I give 100%+ for this property and here we are - 2 days later, back again! And we will be back. :)

There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was great here.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout our entire stay. The rooms are spacious with a cozy, 'lux' ski lodge vibe. Very clean and amenities are great. Undercover parking right outside your room, and although the restaurant is undergoing renovations, they still allowed for room service (we did not try it however). Great location - 5 minutes from the major shopping centre Canelands, and plenty of restaurants and takeaway options all within a close proximity (2-10 min drive). The pool is also very modern and great for small gatherings. Absolutely perfect for a short stay, and would be more than comfortable for a week!

I was greeted by Lisa on arrival who advised me that I was getting a complimentary upgrade to King Room as I was by myself and didn't have any pets with me. The room was great, the bed was really comfy and large TV was an added bonus.

Thr restaurant wasn't open, you could only order meals to your room which wasn't issue, I just thought it was strange they've chosen not to utilise the restaurant dining room on-site.

Was very clean and had everything we needed for a stopover in Mackay while traveling north. The lady at reception was lovely and helpful. if it wasn’t cold and raining we would have loved to use the pool. it looked very inviting. great place to stop. thank you.

the double bed was uncomfortable. probably due to a replacement. was a bit springy and sinky. Pillows were great though. For future travelers: Note you can hear the plane noise, however it is not constant and with the aircon on it drowns it out. very quite to road noise though which is surprising as it is on Nebo Rd (A1).

The lady at receptionist was very helpful at the check-in. Car parking was completely under cover and very roomy unlike many motels. Very handy in wet weather or when very sunny. There was plenty of room to manoeuvre in entering and exiting the car park in front of the unit. Many motels require a three point turn. No so at this motel. This alone, is a huge plus. The unit was very roomy and very, very clean. The bed sheets looked like the bed was made by a professional. Very impressive. This all added up to an atmosphere of extra care and attention to detail. This motel was well above expectations. This motel and the owners are definitely "keepers".

Everything you would want from a motel while travelling between destinations. Nicely renovated with country charm. Super clean. Aircon on when we arrived, meaning no hot stuffy room. Everything you need, including a toothbrush, in case you happened to forget yours. Have stayed in many motels in Mackay befote and this is by far the best. Will only use this one in the future.

Lisa's warm and welcoming customer service.😍Both of them treated us like family. We ordered hot chips for dinner, and her beautiful husband surprised us with 3 tub of hot gravy on the side! ( really appreciate it🙏) We like the spacious rooms, car park right at your front door, also the swimming pool to cool.down on a hot day👍 Thank you so much for your lovely hospitality. Great service from Lisa who provided a lovely king room for the two of us. Had dinner on the first night and it was very nice freshly cooked pan fried Barramundi. Several kilometers one way to the botanic Gardens and similar distance into Mackay City. Would recommend this place to my friends.

Not really a negative; as with so many local motels, we were under the flight path. But we choose this place due to proximity to town and closeness to the airport. And more importantly, there is a curfew for the planes so our nights were restful.

The staff were very friendly. When we arrived I didn’t realise that they sent me a text message on checking in hours ago, and when I rang an unattended number, somebody immediately returned my call. The place is pet friendly which was a requirement for us. It also had some plates and toaster and microwave which really helped with v early breakfast.
