Mel & her team have the cleanest motel I have ever been in.. the space is great as well - a fridge, microwave, toaster etc & I love that they give you a T-Towel, dish washing liquid & a new wash cloth. I was able to cook my own breakfast & reheat lunch & really clean up. I was there with family group for a funeral & Mel made sure our family all had early check in. Pub across the road is brilliant for counter meals ..

Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the pool is pretty good. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Unfortunate that there was no kitchenette or outdoor grill available for guests to use. The entrances to the under-cover parking spots are also awkwardly narrow and risky to enter when they really have no reason to be, even in a small car. I would suggest simply breaking down the over-reaching wall on either side of the entrance to make it the same width as the actual parking space.

The room was super clean and comfy. Staff were very friendly. Location close to many places for meals.

The motel is on a very busy road - can make getting in and out a little tricky. No road noise in the room though. We arrived after the shade sails over the carparks had been cleaned, unfortunately the next morning we discovered our car was covered in bleachy smelling stuff and had to wash the car - not something that would affect someone staying under usual circumstances and we do appreciate the cleanliness of the motel.

Really spacious area with lounge & separate bedroom. Very comfortable beds. Kitchenette had crockery, utensils, toaster, microwave..everything needed for an easy meal. Quiet & clean. Great value for a comfortable stay while we explored Maryborough’s Treasures - Queens Park, Military Museum , Cistern Chapel ++

The back area where we were could do with a “pretty up” but the room was great.

The staff at Blue Shades Motel were really friendly. The process to check in and check out was simple and quick. The room I stayed in was a great size. It was really helpful having a kettle and microwave in the little kitchen area. The bed was quite comfortable. I was in a room right at the back so it was nice and quiet. There were people next door but I couldn't hear them once in the room. The location is very central. Easy to get to grocery stores or shopping centres quickly.

The bathroom has a shower over a small bath so if you struggle stepping up over the edge of the bath just double check what your room will be like. Also the driveway to get between the front and back sections is very narrow. Larger cars do fit but it's a tight squeeze to maneuver into the carparks.

Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Helen, the manager, was very pleasant and only too happy to help. She is a very capable and reliable person and is a very good person to have in charge. My husband and I would certainly recommend the motel, and happily stay there again. I wish Helen good luck in any of her future endeavours. Sandra Trafford-Walker

Always a pleasure staying at Blue Shades - it is our preferred hotel whenever we are working onsite in Maryborough. Staff were extremely helpful when I advised ahead of time that I'd be arriving late at night and they organised afterhours key pickup. We love their lamb-cutlet meal. Meals avail Mon-Thu. I really liked the bedside USB charging sockets, saved me having to grab the 240v chargers out of the bags. Shower nice and hot. Free Wifi excellent for videocalling home and seeing my family. Management at front counter were very helpful. Cleaning staff were also extremely courteous and friendly. Its the people that make the stay enjoyable when working away from home and will be staying there again in a few days.

I loved 99% of this stay. You will like it here! The 1% - I couldn't get my room #4 TV remote to do subtitles, I rely on subtitles to avoid turning my tv up to a volume that might impact neighbours (or maybe I need to press a combo of buttons, not sure). But its not a deal-breaker at all. I have already booked to stay here again, very happy to stay here and see the wonderful staff!

We needed a comfortable, handy location & value for money accommodation, Blue Shades was an excellent option for our group & we will be returning, i also plan to take my wife there, for some of our own accommodation requirements, Good Pub just across the road & easy stroll to most things, thank you.

There wasn't much to complain about, perhaps Bigger vehicles would struggle in some areas.

It was clean, spacious and welcoming. Free laundry facilities and close to everything. Had everything we needed as a family. Saturday morning Breakfast made by the care taker gentlemen was awesome! They made us feel very welcome and special.

This motel was a pleasant place to stay. My room was nice, the staff were very welcoming and overall I would use this motel again next time I visit this town. The room was tidy and didn't feel cramped. The beds were the right level of comfortable for me, firm enough that you can get out of them, but soft enough that I wasn't feeling stiff in the morning. The bathroom shower was good - quick to warm up and good pressure. I know its a little bit trivial but I feel like its an unrated concern for travel until you notice it. The reception staff was polite and provided answers to any concerns I had during my stay. I certainly appreciated their adherence to current health and safety measures (mask wearing and offering hand sanitizer).

The only aspect of the room I am reluctant to add is I was slightly bothered by was noise levels coming from outside the room in the early evening. However, the room does come with a thick blind to block out the lights of cars, so I wouldn't call this a negative at all, but aspect to this type of motel to consider.
