Comfortable bed and breakfast in a period style property. If you are a fan of older architecture and design then you will love this property. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the property. The rooms are large and comfortable. The location is convenient, with a short drive to the Strand. The daily breakfast is tasty, especially the wide variety of fruit.

The period style design is not for everyone. The ensuite for example has an older shower so there are some sacrifices in convenience that you wouldnt have with a contemporary style bathroom. Power points are lacking around the bed so charging your phone can be difficult. There are stairs from the car park to the main level, so if you have heavy luggage it can be difficult if you are not able bodied.

What a welcoming B&B! I felt like I stepped back in time, living in dreamlike luxury. Iva and Russell (the hosts) were so friendly and accommodating. They made a lovely cup of coffee on arrival which was perfect after the 4 hour drive from Cairns. I stayed in the 'Gold Queen Room', which was air-conditioned and so comfortable. The B&B was only 900 metres walk to Queensland Countrybank Stadium where I was attending the P!nk concert, so it was situated in an extremely convenient location. When I returned from my night out, I enjoyed sitting in the pool room and having a complimentary glass of port. Although the B&B was located on Sturt street, I could not hear any traffic from my room and I had a wonderful night's sleep. In the morning I sat on the lovely back deck and ate a delicious breakfast that Iva and Russell prepared, consisting of fresh coffee, an assortment of tropical fruit, eggs (however I would have like them made - I chose scrambled) toast, and a selection of 3 specialty conserves - Ginger Marmalade, Mango and Rosella. I was honestly sad I had to leave. I can't wait to come back for a longer stay!

I wish I could have stayed longer!

I really appreciated how clean and well-maintained the property was, which immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly, always ensuring we had everything. The room was not only beautiful but also perfectly suited to my needs, providing a peaceful and relaxing environment. Additionally, the breakfast was excellent, with a variety of delicious options. I was especially impressed by how they accommodated my dietary restrictions.

Distinctiveness of the property - era, high ceilings, character. Hosts - extremely service oriented and with local venue recommendations. Russell and Iva are very assiduous!. Room - very large and comfortable. Shower great. A classy, character property in Townsville that makes a change from all the beachfront bungalows on the Qld coast.

Common areas had only fans (no aircon) and hot nights (ie 25 degrees) meant the fans didn't quite cut it. (Although our room had both aircon and fan).

The house is beautiful. What a treasure. The location is close to town, beaches and shopping. The owners are very accommodating. You are never too old to learn how to poach eggs to perfection. Thank you! Well presented breakfast, simple yet delightful.

The metal frame bed leg in the middle makes noise when you roll over, blockout blinds would allow a sleep in, the TV area is not practical and chairs are too low. When you hang clothes in the wardrobe you cannot close the doors because it is too slim.

The staff at this guesthouse were exceptionally helpful and obliging. They provided a lot of information about local services and transport and places of interest. Nothing was too difficult for them. The breakfast provided was exceptional and included an array of tasty tropical fruits and freshly prepared other items as requested. It was no trouble for the hosts to put on an afternoon cuppa for you and the billiard table was another extra that I would have liked to have used if I had more time!

Both location and breakfast was great. Host ‘s Eva and Russell were such wonderful host . Picked us up at train station and even dropped us off at ferry terminal. Gave us an impromptu sightseeing trip around Townsville. Nothing was too much trouble. Just made our stay so much better and stress free.

Eva was full of tourists information and so helpfull

We arrived late but our hosts kindly waited and even offered us something to eat after our journey. Classique is a beautifully kept 19th century house with spacious bedrooms, high ceilings and very comfortable beds. There’s a reception room with a pool table and darts along with complimentary port and sherry. Breakfast was stunning. Tropical fruit, local jams, toast, poached eggs, fresh tea and coffee served on the back terrace in the glorious sunshine. Our heartfelt thanks to the owners who helped us no end, facilitating a trip to magnetic island and making our stay a memorable and wonderful experience. We hope to return!

Everything about the property and owners was excellent. The property itself was very neat, clean and comfortable. The owners themselves were extremely friendly and helpful even driving us to meet our grandson on 2 occasions as we had no transport. The breakfast presentation, setting, quantity, variety and quality was beyond our expectations. We would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a bed and breakfast stay in Townsville

There was nothing to dislike

The Classique Bed & Breakfast is really outstanding. It is located in a historical building which gives it a unique ambience. The room we had was pretty big and very nice. The breakfast was fantastic with cereals and a large plate of fresh fruits. But the best is for sure the host couple! Incredibly friendly and helpful, you always feel perfectly welcome!
